i am hoping for the day that they ban all public driving in downtown cores. i.e. Only buses, cabs, limos, etc would be aloud to drive around in manhattin.
i wonder how much fuel would be saved if they put that into effect in every major city in north america.

I like how you mentioned limos should still be allowed, because it is important for rich people not to have their lifestyles effected, even if they insist on using one large massive vehicle just to lug one person around in. Personally, I am waiting for the car to become ilegal. They are responsible for far too many deaths, and they are the cause of our oil problem. If only professonals drove, such as highly trained bus drivers or drivers of emercency units such as fire trucks and ambulances, then imagine how few accidents there would be. This would also work a good deal to making U.S. larger, it has grown too small. It is too easy to drive from one end to the next in too short a period of time. I also thing cell phones should be banned. Phone calls from state to state should be more expensive, and the internet ought to be carefully regulated. No one person should be allowed more than 2 hours a day online. This could be accomplished through everyone having their own governement issued username and password they must use when logging onto the internet, which automatically let's authorities know exactly when you go online and when you go back off. If you spend more than a certian number of hours a day you will be arrested and taken to a rehabilitation center where they will brain wash you so you will never want to use the internet again. I think all these things would be steps in the right direction for a perfect world. Think how much fuel the U.S. we would be saving then!
