You're welcome. There was some discussion about this on the home theater forum the other day. Someone noticed the jump cut on the DVD, and checked the Criterion LD to see if the jump cut was there as well- it wasn't. Apparently, the frames that ended up being cut appeared to have some damage to them, so instead of replacing them, MGM just cut them out (!) and didn't even bother to give Lowry new elements when the 4k scans were being done. A bit of interesing info- there seems to be a bit of missing footage (a few frames) in all of the DVD versions of Goldfinger. The scene where Odd Job is turning the corner and misses the turn, the car obviously jumps ahead due to the misssing frames. Apparently the missing frames are on the Criterion LD, but not on any other LD or DVD.
