Well I was going to watch Episode IV again on DVD, but have decided to watch ITV's showing of it (the 1997 edition) instead - so I could get an idea of the sorts of changes being made to both the picture and some of the sequences. Watching it and comparing it to just the teasers we've had from Adywan already shows a massive difference in picture quality...not only is there a hint of blue on the 1997 picture (although not as bad on the dvds) but in some shots, there has been a red hue to some of the stormtrooper armour and on the walls. All of the square panels on the Tantive IV corridor look like they were painted in a very pinkish white!! Artoo's tracks in the sand appear to have been airbrushed out and there was a glaring matte line on the horizon as 3PO says 'what a desolate place this is.' I did have a small chuckle at the dewback trooper - he looks like he's going to get motion sickness such is the joltiness of the animation!

Did notice one thing on the bit where the droids are being taken down for the sale...3PO is sitting down and looks to have the bottom part of his suit missing - the waist section where his wiring is exposed looks like it hasn't been tucked into anything. (It's the bit where he puts his hands up and says 'don't shoot').

Anyway, this does make me even more keen to see Ady's end result and I shall be eagerly awaiting the time when we can all get our hands on a copy to view!

EDIT: Ben Kenobi looks like he has a slight blue rinse to his hairdo...!!
