The thing is, Echoes and Corruption aren't worse than the first game because of their relativey quick development cycles, but because of conscious, intentional design decisions. Echoes' biggest problem is the Dark World being far more dull than the Light World, and the fact that your Light and Dark Beams require ammo. The biggest problem with Corruption is that since the action is split over multiple planets, it feels a bit disjointed. The incredible pacing of the first game is absent in Prime 3 because of the need to fly back and fourth between planets and even between docks on the same planet.

That said, they're still both better than 90% of what's on the market, just to put things into perspective.

Man, I wish there was away to unlock the old NES Metroid without having a GBA and Fusion. It would be fun to be able to play that again without having to hook up my old NES.


Well, you can also get it by beating Zero Mission on Hard Mode (I think)..
