Wow, you really put a lot of thought into that. I'm not sure what the joke is, and I'm not laughing.

Hey Ady,

Quick question that I don't think has been asked before re: subtitles for Greedo... will they be in frame our out of frame / burnt into the picture or selectable dvd overlay? Personally I 'm hoping for in frame / burnt into the picture because that is the most film-like in presentation... what say you?

BTW... DVD9 +1

The screenshot pack is no longer available. Could you re-upload it, adywan?

The Greedo subtitles are burnt into the picture & in frame.

Now for some bad news....

There is still so much to do on this edit that a November release is now unlikely. There is still a very slim chance that it will still happen but i'm not going to rush anything. December is also probably off the books. At the rate i am going the later half of December is looking more likely but then that clashes with the Christmas postal rush so if this is the case then i will delay it until the beginning of January so there will be no postal problems but i may upload it to usenet at an earlier date, but juts the DVD-5 version for now

I've said it before and I'll say it again - whatever it takes to get it right is fine by me. Take your time. It won't be much longer I am sure.

Yeah, take your time. Let's just say June '08, and when you get it done before then, we'll applaud you for getting done ahead of schedule.

And I was thinking of taglines...something that emphasizes what this edit is updating and correcting. I was thinking...

1977: A Dream...
1997: Deferred...
2004: Denied...
2008: ...REBORN.

Just diddling around. Maybe "revisited" instead of "reborn" to match up with your title? Or change your title to "reborn"? I dunno.

BTW, I'm thinking around Christmas--Star Wars Revisited preview trailer with "Carol of the Bells" music.

Star Wars: REBORN is something completely other, on which the last we heard was work is continuing. That was months ago now. InfoDroid, where art thou? Must be waiting to use Ady's version.

Bummer, I was getting my friend hyped up to show it to him over Christmas break...

Be sure to back everything up!

The link to the last clip appears to be down. I turned some friends onto this project and they were unable to get it. Anyone able to repost?

Also, would it be possible to get all the video clips' links posted in the past consolidated on the first page?

Thanks,

Savage.

I know this won't help but I did have them all but had to delete them. Reason was all the clips kept crashing my computer, did anyone else have this problem?

@ savage: I think I have all the clips that have been posted. I know for shure that I still have the trailer that Ady posted this past summer ( If thats the one your reffering to) and would be glad to re-upp if Ady doesn't mind.

None of the clips ever crashed my computer, either.

I have the trailer from this past summer, but the one I'm looking for is the first one Ady posted back in the summer of 2006.

If Ady wouldn't object and if someone has every clip ever posted, one mega pack containing all of 'em could help some of the late-comers to the show.

Awesome screen shots. I can't wait to see this on my 100" screen. And because of that, I'm on the DVD-9 list. I will gladly PIF some DVD-9's, and I'll even shrink down the DVD-9 to a DVD-5 and PIF to a few who want it that way.

That and other wonderful acronyms are explained right about here. But to save you a little time:

PIF - Pay It Forward. You send out a disc to a person in return for a pledge from that person to send out (usually three) more copies to others, who then in turn each send out 3 more discs, and so on.

Thanks, Mother's sig!!!

Sounds fine, and thanks. At one time I thought it was common practice for the "originator" of a fan edit to actually sell copies ("compensation") to the first few people who promised to put it online (ie: torr3nt), which would sound very problematic!

The Pay It Forward principle I do understand and is fine by me...

I just picked up a optoma HD70. It was the best rated HD (720P) projector for under $1000. With the $200 rebate it was only $799. I'm projecting it on my wall until I can afford to get the screen, and it already looks awesome! Try to find an HD TV for less than $1000, and besides that, the picture on those TV's suck!!!

So, I definitely like to get movies like this on DVD-9, because a shrunk DVD starts to look like a crappy mpeg encode when it's blown up to 100". Doesn't matter so much with a comedy, but Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Transformers/etc., it's gotta be DVD-9 (or HD/Blu-ray, whoever wins. Ugh!).

Well, it *is* a crappy mpeg encode ... DVDs are mpeg
