T-HOPE ULTIMATE TERMINATOR PROJECT (Mainly Released) — Page 4

For the ones interested, here's a comparisation of the 2 workprints I have of Terminator 2 3D.

The first one is the January 17th 1996 workprint, the second is the Digital Domain workprint which has the special effects cleaned up.

Notice that the Mini-Hunter is different:
http://www.hopeofthefuture.net/tmp/wp/wp-02-01.jpg
http://www.hopeofthefuture.net/tmp/wp/dd-02-01.jpg

A large difference. When Arnie approaches the wall in the January 17th workprint, an Aerial Hunter-Killer flies from the left to the right, and whlie the camera zooms in, another Aerial Hunter-Killer leaves the SKYNET complex, but very late (in the pics it's just a dot but it quickly flies towards us).

In the Digital Domain workprint, the first Aerial Hunter-Killer (from left to right) is gone and we immediately see the "other" Aerial Hunter-Killer appearing from the SKYNET complex.

Sounds like this is going to be an awesome little disc. Well, with the amount of stuff you've listed, not so little. Makes me want to take the ride in English at one of the USA Universal Studios.

anyway :

Note:
I have the T2 Special Edition laserdisc, but I don't have a laserdisc player. Does anyone know what the content of the T2 Special Ediion laserdisc is regarding to the Guns N' Roses chapter on it. Does it only feature the musicvideo, or also information pages? Can anyone rip stuff from Laserdisc to digital DVD video?

i also have it,still looking for somebody checking the content about Guns ?
let me know

I'm still interested in that content. Someone contacted me via pm some time ago and said he would rip the pages for me, but I haven't heard from him afterwards. So it's still welcome. If you can also rip the music video in great quality, then that would be awesome. But the highlight should be those info pages about the videos.

I'm surprised I never came across this thread before. I thought I'd like to tell you that I have the 4-disc LD SE of T2 (with the dark blue logo on the black box, which basically means you can't identify the ruddy thing even close-up, hehe). This obviously has the GnR YCBM music video and everything else to boot, although I don't even remember any pages of text referring to this thing in particular. Anyway, I was thinking of upgrading my PC but I've done a bit of analog video capturing (VCD quality only) on an old TV card. Does anyone have any suggestioins for buying a half-decent analog video capture card at a reasonable mid-range price?

Also, for T3 I have two CD-ROMs worth of online content that was being collected by someone who basically closed the website soon after the premiere of the movie. You may already know about it, but basically it was mainly external promotional material by entertainment shows like ET and E! etc, and I'm sure there were some other really tasty tidbits that you wouldn't find anywhere else.

If you want any of this content (and indeed anything else that resides on LD, like the Ghostbusters 2-disc LD content that I saw someone wanted elsewhere), let me know. Peace.

Hey, I think you mean TechComForces, the old site of Alex. I think I already have most of that content, so thanks for that but I don't think I need it. Most footage on that site were tv news items, nothing serious. Some cool tv spots though :-)

I'm going wait for v-ger06's GNR - You Could Be Mine stuff. That would really rock!!

btw, my rapidshare premium account has been hacked, so I hope rapidshare can help me asap. But I should still be able to download the files with a free account.

well,i dont know,i only have ,in dvd,the ultimate edition ( wich is compare tothe lds here ).
and according to this review, the extras bonus on the "extreme" edition ,could be the same that is on the lds.
what do you think ?

Thanks. Got my rapidshare account back and downloaded the remaining files quickly this morning. Quality is awesome, the music video is great!!! Thank you very much.

2 questions, I noticed the musicvideo is 30 frames/second. Is is easy to convert it to 29,97 frames/second without the music going out of synch (I'm still learning what's the best way to convert all the formats to another format).
Do you know a site which has the extra's of the laser disc listed? I know IMDb has a laserdisc page per movie, but it doesn't show all the contents of the laserdisc. I think the Ultimate Edition covers almost everything except the GNR musicvideo.

Again, thanks for uploading. Really awesome. With which name can I credit you on the T2 DVD?

Just an update. I made a hybrid cut of act 2 (future war act). Using footage from the workprint and cutting it a bit like the version shown in the attraction, and adding audio from an audience recording so that I have T23D music. More trying to create it a bit like the final version.

I already own the American version of the first 2 discs (the regular Extreme Edition). I don't know what's exactly on disc 3. It sounds like the interactive mode that was available on the American Extreme Edition, but I'm not sure, since there's not much info about the Japanese 3rd disc.

I'm really looking forward to this release Maurice. I remember seeing T2 3D on the news here in Australia when I was a kid. All these years I've wondered what it's like. Now that I know it's coming I can't wait!

I saw that you are including parodies which reminded me of something funny from a show that was on TV here over a decade ago:

I am excited about this project. Been waiting for a T-3D project to role along for some time now.

If you could explain how you will show the ride feature - that would be great

Remember, Highlander, you’ve both still got your full measure of life. Use it well, and your future will be glorious.

Right now, I haven't worked on the project for about 2 weeks, simply because I'm really demotivated. The first disc is as good as finished. Only need some font replacement plus compiling. The issue is that the compiling proces gives me an "Out of memory" error message, which turns out to be something that the programmers did not manage to fix in all versions and they can't provide me with a good working solution. If I delete 4 random VTS section, then the program allows it to be compiled. However, I don't want to lose 4 complete VTS sections.

The ride feature on the DVD is based on the Universal Studios Florida version of T23D.
You first have a 3 minutes walk on the Hollwood Boulevard. You come across the T23D shop Cyber Image and then walk to the Cyberdyne T23D building. Then you have a short clip in which you walk in the queue area. You enter the Miles Bennet Dyson Auditorium room (pre-show part) and you can choose out of 3 options where you will stand in the room (front, center, back). After this you will go to the Cyberdyne Presentation/Demonstration Center for the classified preview. Here you can again choose out of 3 situations (front, center, back) which depends on how you watch the show and at what time you enter the area.

That's the basic idea. Don't expect DVD quality with this featurette. As I call it, it's "The complete live experience!" :-)

Now I only need a way to work around that freakin' error.

maurice2029, the error message you're getting might be related to the bitrate of the multiplexed mpeg2/ac3 clips. It may just be too high for the software to handle (and might not be compliant to DVD specs). Solution is to find the file that gives you an error mesage during compiling process and make ac3 (or alternatively mpeg2) file with smaller bitrate, so when it's multiplexed the combined audio/video bitrate is within DVD specs.
