Is the P.I.F. chain still in operation for these single layer DVDs or is the only way to get copies now through file sharing sites?

Love to get a copy of ADM's OT edits also!

Did DL versions of ADigitalMan's "Extended Editons" of the prequels ever exist to anyone's knowledge? I'm asking about his "Extended Editions" and not his more popular SE Editions. I didn't even know his Extended versions existed until I accidentally stumbled across them in the DVD Holocron yesterday. They were only listed as SL and I wondered if there had been a DL too.

Having been obsessed with the deleted scenes being re-integrated into the prequels since the DVDs started coming out, once I upgraded to a computer that could handle it, I found SithLord's Extended versions (the PAL ones with the Swedish subtitles only). Then I ham-fistedly made my way through freeware, trial versions, and tutorials (thanks to a lot of information here) to correctly subtitle the alien languages and redo the opening menus. However, the SithLord versions are also SL, and as I watch only these versions now, I'm not satisfied with the quality.

Eventually I've been planning to do my own DL extended edits once I have the time, inspiration, and extra cash for software (which probably I'd be wiser to skip and go straight into trying to make HD versions). However, though I've not seen them first hand, I'm guessing ADigitalMan's versions would likely be nearly identical to what I'd make, IF they existed in DL.

They do exist. They're pretty hard to find, but that's largely due to the lack of demand. Still, if somebody here has them, try to hook this brotha up.

I've got copies (thanks, Rikter!). Check my profile and shoot me an email, we'll work something out.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

No more emails requesting these from me please. I don't have the time or energy to make a lot of copies and the two nice fellows that I'm getting copies to I'm sure will be more than happy to make copies for others.

Send me an email anyone and I'll continue the PIF chain on these Extended Edits for sure, once I get mine from ReverendBeastly. I will be out of town and away from the computer for the next 5 days however, so don't be worried if I don't email back till the start of next week.

Hey all,

First of all I'm a huge fan ADM. Pearl Harbor....best edit ever.

Anyhow, would someone be kind enough, using imgburn, to post the ideal spots to set the layer break in each of the DL versions of ADM's SW edits?

If you use ImgBurn why don't you select "seamless" when you have to choose the layerbreak? It won't really matter what layerbreak position you choose in that case.
Fez: I am so excited about Star Whores.
Hyde: Fezzy, man, it's Star Wars.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't ImgBurn suggest the most optimal layer break points and ranks them?

Hi,

I had the same thing happen to me recently when burning a DL. What you do is preview each of the potential layer break areas and decide which one seems to have the least amount of motion occurring at that point. I didn't do that the first time, so when I played it the layer switch it was noticeable.

When I reburned the disc, I went through the options via the preview and picked the one with the least amount of movement. Once I watched the reburned disc, the switch occurred unnoticed.

Hope this helps...

Best Regards,

Just wanted to leave my feedback on the Prequels I've seen so far. I'm to the point where Kenobi and Skywalker have there final duel in Episode III. I must say, job well done ADM. The editing isn't bad at all, and the stories flow together. I like that you removed a lot of the silliness, but left enough humor in to keep us entertained. I don't really get why it was necessary to keep Padme queen, but it really didn't take away from the Plot or add to it, for me, at least.

I do have one plot issue that is kind of crawling up my skin. You removed the midichlorians, and I understand why, but now we're left with an immaculate conception that just happened. This just doesn't sit right with me. Even with Jesus, you know that the Holy Spirit had something to do with the Virgin Mary becoming pregnant. If you ever do a 2.0 of "A Vergence in the Force" please remove this reference, as well. If you cut after Qui-Gon says, "The force is unusually strong with him, that much is clear." Then pick it back up when Anakin's mother says, "Can you help him?" You'll end up with a clean edit, and it it doesn't mess with the story line at all, cause it wasn't established in the OT that Vader didn't have a father, nor was it mentioned anywhere else in the prequels.

Oh, the dream sequence in "Path to the Darkside" looks unnatural....It doesn't mesh with the other dream sequences in the rest of the prequels. I think maybe in this case, it would have been the lesser evil to leave it and bear the anguish of Anakin appearing to jerk off.

Otherwise awesome job. I may try my hand at editing, at least the one scene with the immaculate conception, just to see if I can do it. Well, I'm off to watch the rest of III, and the OT.

I think the immaculate conception can be accepted as either the machinations of Darth Plagueis/Darth Sidious (Dark Side), or the Will of the Force itself (Light Side). By removing it as the dubious actions of some microorganism, the interpretation (however you interpret it) has much more resonance with the story.

As for "Queen" Amidala, to me it's pretty simple and clear: Queens are not elected, they're born. Queens can take the throne at the age of 14. It's happened in monarchies before. But no core planet in their right mind would elect a 14-year-old as a ruler. Naboo's tradition of electing kids to the top office is just plain stupid. Thrust the throne on her by happenstance and you have a believable story. And as the Queen matured, she would have increasing clout in the Galactic Senate, as we've seen. Look at Elizabeth II ... she has far more influence now on the world stage than she did fifty years ago.

I just wanted to clarify that what I have in my possession to PIF is ADM's Extended Editions of the Prequels in DL (the versions with deleted scenes re-inserted only). I don't have his Enhanced Editions (or true fan edits). I just wanted to make this clear as there's been some confusion.
Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can obtain a DVD9 copy of ADigitalMan's revisions to the Star Wars prequel trilogy?

Thanks!

I just got his DVD9 of ANH from Rapidshare/FanEdit.org but it doesn't seem to want to work.  It only plays on the computer, and even then I have to start it manually...it won't auto play like my other discs.  Stand alone player won't even get that far...just a black screen.

Any ideas?
