Well, this thread bombed. I like this site, its very good. I had just come on to the site and was eager to start a thread for something I liked. I leaped before I looked and posted recklessly. Forgive me, I was just too excited when I joined. I will only answer to threads from now on and I won't do anything like this again. I also wont revisit subjects like the ones I started in my two threads again. I won't let it happen again, I promise you. Mods, can you please delete this thread? It was nothing. I am deeply sorry.

No I am not Zigfried. Zigfried hates this site. I really like this site. I think you people are nice and working for a great cause. Campaigning to preserve the Star Wars trilogy. Read my revised post. I said this was my first time on these boards. I have been a fan of this site since I first signed the petition a while back. I had been wanting to join for a while and I finally did a few days ago and was excited. I guess I was just a little too excited and ahead of myself. I started two awful threads in my recklessness. To prevent this from happening again, I won't start another thread again, and I will keep to that promise. I will only reply to threads from now on. I apologize if I have done a disservice to the site. I am very sorry for my actions and I hope you can forgive me.

HotRod, I am not Zigfried. He was a troll. He started out as a decent guy, I loved his Paint Wars slides. They were great. But then, he pitched a fit and yelled threats of torture at us. I won't act rude toward any of you. I respect this site and its authority. I will not act rude toward any of its members or its owners. I like you people, I really do. I respect your opinions and your wishes. I am new here and I want to get along with everyone here. I want to support this site's cause. Let me explain again. When I first found this site (I think it was in 2005, I found it wonderful and then I signed the petition. Like all of you, I was tired of George Lucas' disrespect for his film saga, which was the best trilogy of all time. I came on to this site a lot since then. I was not a member yet, for I did not know how to join. I came on to this site almost every day to read posts on this great forum. Then, a couple weeks back, I found out how to join and I did. I was full of excitement, for I had become a member on one of my favorite sites that I loved to look at. As I said before I was too excited and I rushed out two threads that did not do so well. I know this site still has memories of Zigfried's trollishness and perhaps my bad threads roused some suspicion in you. But I assure you, I came to this site with good intentions, and I did not mean to upset or annoy anyone. I promise to make up for my two thread mistakes and will do better In my posting.

Don't take it personally, almost every n00b has been mistaken for Zig recently. I doubt you're him, most people that hate a site go "HAY FUCKERS IM BACK" if they re-register, instead of making acting polite.

Thank you bkev. As I said before, I like this site and its members very much. This is a fun place and I enjoy posting here. I hope I get to know you all some more and have some fun with you. And I will take full responsibility and blame for how bad my two petition threads were and will look before I leap when I post next time.

It took you 2 years to "find out how to join"?

I guess Jay had taken down that "join" button on the home page.

Vbangle, I will be honest with you, I did not know how to join. I never noticed "join button" because I was too enraptured in the threads. When I finally did find it a few weeks ago, I had my doubts on how it would work. It took me a little time to figure out how the cyber paper work was done. Well I am here now, so I am going to get involved with this site's noble cause. OOT forever!

Two things.

First, I was just having a little fun at your expense ....I read the various threads and lurked around here for a while before joining as well...welcome.

Second, I am throughly convinced. There is no way you are ZigFried. Ziggy is incapable of forming such a straight forward, coherent , polite reply....the boy has issues....

Anyway, enjoy the site and thank you for not being a Ziggy sock.

Whoa! I usual check up on this place pretty regularly, but it seems like everytime I leave for a few days something semi exciting happens behind my back. I have no idea what you original posts were, guess I never will. Sorry you were mistaken for Zig, but like bkev said, must new members get mistaken for Zig. Especially if they start off bold. Anyway, these boards need some new life in them, we can use all the new non-trolling members we can get. Welcome to the boards.

Though I am sorry to hear you say you will never post another topic again... if you renig on that promise I am sure none of us will hold it against you. Like I said before, we need new life around here, new non spamming topics are welcome. Hmm, like I said, I haven't been here the last few days, but it seems your other thread was about preserving or a petition for Balto?? Did I miss something?? I don't find that very "reckless" as you called it. If you have noticed certain parts of this site are dedicated to the preservation of films. In other words, I would say mentioning something like the preservation of a film seems like a pretty common place thing around here, nothing reckless about it. If others don't share your enthusiasm at first don't be discouraged, not too many people come around here, which means the chances of stumbling across a fellow fans of certian things is lower. But it is worth posting by chance that you do stumble across someone else with interest. If not the worst thing that will happen is your thread will sink into oblivion without any replies, no need to request its deletion. Some of the best threads in this place began with the poster being scorned and made fun of, just ask members like Trooperman. When he first proposed making a fan edit of Episode II which included redubbing Anakin and other minor characters, he ended up with several pages of jest. Now his thread is 90 pages long with over a thousand replies and we are (hopfully) a few months away from having a very impressive (or at the least very interesting) fanedit of Attack of the Clones. Don't let the first few replies discourage you.

Thank you all. You people are great. This site rocks and I love it. I definitely will enjoy it and I shall support it's cause to save the SW trilogy all I can. I will also find massive enjoyment in my relations to its delightfully wonderful members. I will have much fun on this magnificent site. Thank you. Original Star Wars forever!

P.S. Thank you for your encouragement C3PX, thank you. Maybe, just maybe, I will start another thread in the future, but right now, I have no intention on it. But if I do, I will look before I leap. I promise not to make another mistake like these first two threads again.

don't feel bad Lan i too believe that the movie based on christopher paolini's first novel Eragon was crap.

the film was so bad indeed one wish's it had never even reached the silver screen. even with the deluxe 2 disc dvd with deleted scenes and a faneditor could the movie be salvaged. the movie should have been more like lord of the rings and less than a film a bit too late to cach in on its success.

if the inheritance trilogy got the same treatment as the harry potter series it could have been good.

funny how publicly he came out and supported the movie one wonders how the young author could have and how much money they gave him.

the first movie was so terribly miscast and the effects were crap, and the music, and the script and the film flopped that eldest will probably not get made. you had nothing really mentioned in the film like the invented language that paolini did and the first since tolkien to do so.

i cannot wait for the third book in the inheritance trilogy since it will be probably the authors first truly polished novel and adult effort. the first book was kind of a high school kids fanfic and attempt at tolkien and mcaffrey, rippoff and the second was a sophomore effort.

thank god new line got the rights to the wonderful trilogy by phillip pullman of golden compass trilogy.

plus walden media with disney and weta are doing a great job on the narnia films.

i can only hope that terry brooks first film based on his book elfstones is good.

the hobbit had better be an mgm/newline/weta co production with peter jackson at least as exec producer if not director so the cast will be on board. nobody should play gandalf but ian mckellen.

Huh, based on all your post skyjedi, I always took you to be more of a right leaning conservative Christian type. Especially with your comment about the need to be careful of bashing the Jews since Jesus was a Jew. So it kind of took me by surprise when you mentioned the "wonderful trilogy by Philip Pullman". Even more ironic is the use of "thank God New Line got the rights" when in reference to a series where God is the main villian (or rather the predecessor to the main villian, kind of like Morgoth and Sauron, only in Pullmans books it is God and Enoch). Though while the subject matter was pretty offensive, overly biased and anti-christian, I must admit, Pullman is a pretty good writer and posses the ability to pull people into his world that tops even J. K. Rowling.

never knew that about pullman never read the books only thought the trailer for golden compass was really cool.

now i shall have to go and boycott the books and the movie if they are anti christian because i am not for that in any way.

Tolkien and c.s. lewis are 2 of my favorite authors precisely because they were god believing christians.

Tolkien and Lewis are two of my favorite writers as well. Pullman often speaks out about how much he dislikes Lewis' narnia books, he is even called by some the "anti-Lewis". If you were to read all the way through Golden Compass, you might not find anything too objectional, it isn't until further in the second book that hints start coming, you might even be able to read all of book two without finding anything objectional, but book three goes all out. It has a lot of very New Age ideas in it, but the premise it basically war against heaven, and the people and gay angels play the part of the rag tag rebels and God's second in command, Enoch, leads the army of heaven against the rebellion, but only because God is to old and decrepid to do it himself. By the end of the third book the protagonist, the little girl, kills God.

i hardly think pullman's god is the father of jesus christ and and spiritual author of the gospels as well as creator of the earth and heavens if a little girl can kill him. LOL yeah right so is this like pullmans admitting to being gay or something?

it's been a long time since I've read the book, but here goes. I was, at the time, not very religious, so I found nothing wrong with it. My friend, who practiced religion and goes to catholic school, also has no trouble with it. I take it as nothing more than a book.
"Pullman portrays the Christian heaven to be a lie. In the third book, the real afterlife is depicted as a bleak place where people are tormented by harpies until Lyra and Will descend into the land of the dead. Through their intercession, the harpies agree to stop tormenting the dead souls, and instead receive the true stories of the dead in exchange for leading them again to the upper world. When the dead souls emerge, they dissolve as they become one with the universe."
There's one problem you may have with it. (taken from wikipedia.) They also treat Lyra's world's God as merely the first angel, however that's wikipedia - from what I read, it only seemed to say that God is not as all-powerful as we think.
"support from other Christians, most notably Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who argues that Pullman's attacks are focused on the constraints and dangers of dogmatism and the use of religion to oppress, not on Christianity itself." His arguments about how the Church can be oppressing can be applied to all religions.
Well, I guess my point is that you can take it offensive if you want - I just take it as a book, IMO written very well.

I agree with you on that skyjedi2005. C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien are perhaps the two best authors in the fantasy genre. The Lord Of the Rings and The Chronicles Of Narnia are classic. These other books (and adaptation(s)) that you are mentioning do not sound good at all and I will avoid them as well.
