In a couple of Episode I making-of things, George Lucas says in reference to the Obi/Qui/Maul fight something to the effect of "we've heard about this in the other movies, but we've never seen it" and something like "this is what we've been waiting to see". I don't remember ever hearing about the duel of the fates in the OT. I thought the duel that people were waiting to see (that we had heard about) was the Obi-Wan Anakin fight in Episode III? Did I miss a reference in the OT, or is he just talking about something as vague as Obi-Wan's "Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the old republic" line? I'm confused, any help here would be hot.
