I didn't know about this show until the whole "NUTS!" campaign made news in June, resurrecting the show from cancellation. The other night, realizing Monk had completely turned to shit and deserved no more of my viewing time, I went channel surfing and discovered Jericho instead in the same time slot. It prompted me to stop the show mid-way through and find this series online, which CBS has had the good sense to stream in its entirety at http://www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho/video.php?cat=1&page=1&video=1&inner=115261 (some of the episodes starting with the first have timeouts on the interstitial ads before a segment will stream, so be patient). I started from the pilot and have steadily worked through the season in just five days. (I'm about to watch the season finale).

Holy shit.

All last season I said that Prison Break was the best-scripted show on the tube. I was wrong. Jericho was, and I knew nothing about it at the time. If you haven't discovered it yet, you owe it to yourself to check this show out. While it bears little resemblance to The X-Files, it is THAT level of quality TV. If you agree after watching this that the show is as good as I say, recruit some other people to watch it too. Take the time to write CBS to let them know you've discovered it AFTER the un-cancellation and you find it worth keeping alive beyond the brief extension it's being given this fall.

Happy watching!

If you think the show is just fiction ... if you think it couldn't happen ... consider this.

Reassuring, huh?

Nonsense! It could never happen! Nuclear weapons are all a myth! A myth made by our governments to scare us.

Of course it could happen. I think people like to tell themselves it can't because they can't cope with the possibility of it. Although if people would prepare for it, it wouldn't be as bad. So in the end, avoiding the idea isn't helping anyone.

It's why I love this show. The premise on how this happened and what might happen afterward is just as prescient today as it was in the 80s. Have you been watching?

No, I have never seen the show. I have only heard the name of it and the suggestion that it was good, but I never even knew what it was about until I read your post and looked into it more.

My buddy is a nuclear engineer and we talk about this stuff all the time and run over and discuss different disaster scenarios. He always tries to urge me to build a shelter and keep it stocked. I am sure he has never heard of this show either, otherwise he would have mentioned it to me.

Seriously, go check it out at CBS.com (use the link in my first post) ... they have the whole Season 1 there for download. It's positively awesome. I'm a total convert to this show.

Hi there,

I'm writing to you because you were part of the group of fans that helped save Jericho by sending nuts, email, letters, calling and all kinds of other great things. It's still hard to believe that we won the fight.

I haven't seen you around the board for awhile -- maybe you've been there and I've just missed you -- but I wanted to let you know that Jericho Season 2 has a time slot and premiere date: Tuesday, Feb. 12th, at 10pm.

And now the fight for Season 3 begins! We have only 7 episodes -- a short 7 weeks -- to convince CBS that Jericho deserves a Season 3. We need all Rangers to help.

We are gathering at this thread http://jerichoboard.cbs.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=CBSMBJericho&tid=19308 for strategies on how we might win. Please join us. Let's do it again!

I found this show last year and it is truely gold. its one of the only shows that i know of which as so much potiental. and with the way its completely cut off i.e. we know just as much as the ppl in the town about what is happening work wide it makes it that much cooler. SO much can be done with it. unlike shows like prison break which in reality only have the onestory, the shows cant grow. PB is great but i hope you can see my distinction. like after this season what are they gonna do, have the one smart guy get put in a iraq prison or gwantamino bay.
nice guys finish last
