It was advertised in the Red Box at work but the machine didn't actually have it. I'll try again tomorrow.

Dude, what the hell is your problem? All the guy did was comment that he wanted to see it, tried to rent it, but wasn't able to. Just because he commented on wanting to see it but hadn't yet you call him an ass. I think you are the one who needs to be reminded not to be an ass.

Picked up Teen Titans #50 today.

I'm so glad Adam Beechen is off the book, because this month is a hundred-fold improvement. I guess the fact that Marv Wolfman and Geoff Johns also wrote segments didn't hurt any.

^ Yeah, that was exactly what I thought when I saw those pictures. I really like that look, those were my favorite cartoons when I was a kid.

I'm not familiar with Norton--I've somehow managed to avoid every film he's starred in.

That said, I'm definitely looking forward to the Hulk film. Because smashing things is both fun and useful.

Oh boy, are you in for a treat, then! Go and rent Fight Club right now! And then watch American History X. Then you'll look forward to the Hulk even more.

Oh dear. I hated both of those movies. This does not bode well for me.

Yeah, Superman in fact wore the Fleischer costume for the NEW FRONTIER miniseries. One of his animated shorts is even shown in a theater that a disguised Martian Manhunter visits.

Even though you didn't like said movies, would you agree that Ed Norton is a great actor?

MTFBWY. Always.

Hmm, I wonder if whoever made that was really that ignorant to the characters of Ben Grimm and Carnage or if they were just being smart.

Anyway, my vote goes to Carnage, err that is unless Ben brings some bells with him

but they took out the most interesting parts of the story the reign of the supermen and the second super girl, the young superboy clone of supes etc.

i heard the only thing they left intact was the dark superman, lol. hey at least i have the BBC radio drama, which has red leader and biggs from star wars.

and what is with the horrible voice casting decisions. instead of getting good voice artists that are pros at dubbing cartoons and animation they put anne heche and a baldwin brother in there, huh?

i mean obviously christopher reeve is dead but they could have had Tom Welling read for the part of superman or at least that guy who did the animated series and last son of krypton.

i'm looking forward to new frontier hopefully the comic will remain intact unlike the doomsday movie only being a small part of the actual death and rebirth saga of superman.

The animation in the doomsday movie is at least top rate and the fact that it is pg-13 is also good.

i just hope if they make any direct to dvd batman animated films they will use mark hamill as the joker and not recast the role as they did here.

yes i'm not stupid i realize the estates of the original creators of superman have temporarily gotten the license back on superboy, so they rewrote him out of the cannon dc universe. still being in the courts never knowing whether or not dc will also lose the copyright to all of superman if it reverts to the orginal creators heirs.

They left out the Justice League mourning for Superman as well.

I didn't know there even was a BBC radio drama of it. Y'know Biggs from Star Wars was the dad who got mugged in the 1989 Batman opening?

Actually, Adam Baldwin is not related to the Baldwin brothers clan of Alec, Stephen, William, etc. Adam Baldwin is a Baldwin unto himself. As for not simply hiring good, seasoned voice artists - i.e. REGULAR voice actors who are voice actors by trade and not just hired celebrity voices - well, Bruce Timm has always had a kind of obsession with wanting to get TV/film actors to voice DC characters instead of just hiring regular voice actors. Case in point: Mark Hamill as the Joker (man I would pay money to watch him as he records that Joker voice). Other TV/film actors who did voice work in Timm's DCAU include: Adrienne Barbeau (Catwoman/Selina Kyle), Richard Moll (Harvey Dent/Two-Face), Michael Ironside (Darkseid/Frank Miller TDK Batman), Ron Perlman (Clayface/Jax-Ur/Orion #2), Carl Lumbly (Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onnz), James Remar (Manhunter robot/Hawkman-Carter Hall), the late Brion James (Parasite), Dana Delany (Andrea Beaumont/Phantasm/Lois Lane), Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor), Michael Rosenbaum (The Wally West Flash), Miguel Ferrer (Weather Wizard/Aquaman), William Atherton (Dr. Destiny), Jerry O'Connell (Captain Marvel), etc. Every now and then you'd get a regular voice actor/actress in there like Rob Paulsen, Cam Clarke, Jennifer Hale, Frank Welker, Neil Ross, but you'd never find Bruce Timm and his guys using someone like Gary Chalk or Scott McNeil.

And look the celebrity voices of New Frontier: Kyle MacLachlan for Superman, Lucy Lawless for Wonder Woman, Jeremy Sisto for Batman, Neil Patrick Harris for the Barry Allen Flash, David Boreanez for the Hal Jordan Green Lantern, Brooke Shields for Carol Ferris. Was it really necessary to hire these big gun actors for roles that voice actors like Michael Donovan and Venus Terzo could easily have done? I honestly don't know.

i mean obviously christopher reeve is dead but they could have had Tom Welling read for the part of superman or at least that guy who did the animated series and last son of krypton.

It was two guys actually - Tim Daly of TV's "Wings" did Superman in the solo Superman series, then George Newbern of various assorted films/TV shows did Superman in "Justice League".

So, has anyone been following the rumors of the proposed Justice League of America film? I hear it's finally confirmed that Australia's George Miller, the man who gave us the Mad Max trilogy and Happy Feet, will be directing, with two new actors younger than either Christian Bale or Brandon Routh as Batman & Superman, with Batman being Superman's "mentor" and also having Batman as the undisputed leader of the JLA while pairing the Barry Allen Flash opposite the John Stewart Green Lantern, with the Martian Manhunter nowhere to be found.
