Alright, I have now officially returned from my adventures at the end of the earth. My friend got his PS3 and gave me his old PS2. I have been out of the whole gaming thing for several years, this is my first console since my old N64, and I am really enjoying it. I have been playing Shadow of the Colossus and God of War. RE4 will probably be my next purchase. I actually thought about buying a Wii, but I am really enjoying getting games out of the bargain bin for my PS2, I already have ten game for the thing and I have only spent fifty some dollars. I think I will wait until games start getting cheaper before I buy a Wii.

RE 4 is definitely worth it. The Wii version is the best of both worlds cause it has the graphics of the Gamecube version and the extra content of the PS2 version, but I definitely understnad that money is a concern. Some other PS2 recs:

Rachet and Clank Series
Final Fantasy X and XII
Sly Cooper Series
Rockstar's Bully
Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution
Grand Theft Auto 3/Vice City/San Andreas
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and Two Thrones*
Devil May Cry (its sequels aren't as good)

*The PS2 versions of these, as with most multiplatform games, have the weakest graphics, but if you don't have a Gamecube or X-Box, they're still great games.

Ah, I didn't know there was a new cod coming up! The thing I think is the coolest about cod is that you can actually aim the rifle, and not just aim the crosshair.

Whats is the big deal about Bioshock? I keep hearing about it. Well I have been having fun playing Garry's Mod lately a Half Life 2 mod.

Today, while at work, I happened to randomly stumble upon a Mario Kart DS cartridge just sitting in the parking lot on the ground amongst some other garbage (I DO have eagle eyes). Took it home to see if it would work. Playing it now!

...That's entirely random and entirely fortunate. Mario Kart DS is the best in the series so far.

It's a fantastic looking game with a compelling storyline. I've only played the demo so far, but it looks really amazing.

For right now, there's a big stink going on because it has SecuROM built into it. A lot of people that pre-purchased through Steam are now cancelling their orders before the game gets released (it's not released in Europe yet). Apparently the game only lets you install it on two different computers. If you want to put it on a third computer, you have to uninstall it from one. This completely defeats the purpose of Steam, which is to let you install it at whatever computer you want, but only let you play it on one computer at a time. So if you have 3 different computers in your house or at 3 different locations, you'd normally be able to play it at any of them just by logging into your Steam account. With this new SecuROM on Bioshock, that's not possible.

My computer would not do Bioshock justice and I don't want it for Xbox 360. Maybe I'll upgrade my computer soon. I loved the Thief games however and I'm guessing this new game will be very good.

Just finished off the Berzerker Lord in Metroid Prime 3. Pretty fun so far, though I'm not too fond of the controls. Not because they're bad, but just because it's so different than anything I've played before. (I never played Red Steel or any of the other Wii shooters, so the closest simulation I've had to this type of gameplay is Link's bow in Twlight Princess.)

I'm downloading Bioshock by torrent. I don't know if there is a crack.

First, isn't this pretty much a bannable offense? I know that if you did this over on the Steam forums, you'd be gone, instantly.

Second, no there is no crack. You'll need a key for any "cracked" copies you find. It has to be activated on their servers and so far no one has come up with a way around that. Every single copy floating around right now is simple an image of the retail copy. You'll need a serial number to do anything with it. In fact, the only "cracks" available right now are ones that let you play without the DVD in the drive.

Third, if you want to play the game, go buy it. If you want to try it out first, go download the demo and install it. The demo takes you through the first level and gives you a taste of the full game. The demo was absolutely amazing, but I'm saving my money for Half Life 2: Episode 2. I may buy Bioshock in a few months if it goes on sale or something.

I have no money I just spent $200 on a graphics card and I don't think I can work because I'm in college and don't have time.

There are plenty of cheaper games you can test out your new graphics card on, sean.

If I could find Oblivion for $30 I'd go with that.

Yet somehow you managed to find $200 for a graphics card. Maybe next time you should spend only $150 on the graphics card so you have the other $50 for the game.

What kind of graphics card do you have anyway? Oblivion would probably rip a $200 card to shreds. I'm guessing you have either a high end DX9 card or a low end DX10 card. Either way, you're way better off downloading the demo and trying it out then you are waiting for a torrent to finish, only to find out that you won't be able to play it without a serial number.

In other news, someone's trying to get a FEDERAL investigation into the re-rating of Manhunt 2.

As if Congress isn't already wasting enough time and money.

There will be a crack soon enough.

If you eat cheap and put down a little money per day, you'll proabably have enough to buy the game legitimately sooner than the crack will come out.

Which has the bonus advantage of not being illegal.

I'm taking some cans back. Which should earn me about $20. (We have a 10 cent deposit here in Michigan)

Oblivion works fine and there is a version of BS that you don't need the serial.

I am getting close to beating God of War (I think) I am the battle with Ares. Pretty hard, but I only gave it a couple of tries, I had been playing for a while when I got to him and was getting tired. Man, that is a really good game. Really brings me back to the good old days when graphics were crap (but we didn't know that at the time) and game play was the point of focus. GOW is really easy to get into from the very first level and keep you hooked. Not overly hard, not overly easy. I am looking forward to playing the second one when it comes down in price.

...Did you just say that God of War's graphics were crap?

Haha! No. I said it reminds me of the days when graphic were crap but gameplay was fantastic. I meant the gameplay in God of War reminds me of older games I used to play (not in style so much as playability). It seems like so many games these days look nice but aren't worth much.
