Starwars.com survey

This might be a step in the right direction. I told them to get back to the original trilogy and give us less coverage of dorks running around in Stormtrooper outfits.

That survey was kind of lame. In places where they should have had multiple selections (like the type of games you play or where you access the Internet from), you could only select one item.

Oh well.

I think that everyone here should make as much noise as possible. It probably won't be anything earth shattering and may not change, but it might at least get a bit of attention.

Absolutely! That's what I asked for in the last comment section. "I want the original Star Wars trilogy without the special edition add-ons in an anamorphic video DVD". Everybody needs to do something to that effect. I didn't mention audio because I don't care which audio mix we get, though we'd probably get them all if they ever did release it.

MENTION EVERYTHING! As we've seen, unless we draw everything is crayon, Lucasfilm just don't get it.

We should martial the member the sight together for an attack on this survey .

Sounds good to me, but *holds back reflux vomit* do I have to sign up for Starwars.com? Ugh.

I'm heading there right now......(thanks Sluggo, for the link).

EDIT: I just finished the survey, and I mentioned the OOT in 2 of the type-in sections, including the 'comment' section at the bottom, where I essentially told them I want the 77/80/83 versions of the OT remastered and released on hi-def video, and that as an older fan, I felt personally alienated by GL because of his not having done so already.

I'd also say that unless the OOT gets a release that it deserves, I am not buying any more Star Wars or Lucasfilm tickets, DVD, comic-books, novels, trading card, action figures, models, toys, games, home video releases, CDs, magazines, video games, graphic novels or any other products. With the exception of Indy IV, I'm not.

And mention the OOT in HD!

"An anamorphic version of Star Wars - unaltered from its 1977 release - will be the next thing I purchase from Lucasfilm."

I hope I made that clear enough for them.

There, I did it. It took me a while but I did it. It's done. I wrote in my oft repeated idea for a blu-ray release and told them to also release this on dvd in an anamorphic, 16:9-enhanced transfer. Lucasfilm had better get on the ball about this.

Unfortunately, I don't think this was specific enough for them.

I know you wouldn't be happy if they made an anamorphic version based on the laserdisc master. Granted, that would be rediculously stupid, but it's possible, and definitely not below them.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

I wonder if any studio has ever done that before, cropped a 4:3 letterbox master and blown it up Dr. Gonzo style.

AND I WILL PURCHASE NOTHNG ELSE. If they see enough of that, they might start to get a fucking idea.

@ Mike O: why do you make an exception for Indy IV?
Darth Lucas: I am altering the trilogy. Pray I don't alter it further.

The cynical part of me begs you to remember, "the happy fan is the fan who has everything he or she needs." You could at least give them the idea that you'll go back to buying something at all Star Wars related after you have the remastered movies.

If I get the remastered movies, I WILL buy other things; just not until then. If I DID get that, there are all kinds of things that I would love to buy.

To be honest, mostly for social reasons; it'll be a great movie to see going out with friends, etc. and it does relate to Star Wars quite as directly.

This is what I posted as to why I no longer pay for hyperspace.

I don't think we should have to pay for this stuff. We are all faithful fans. Some have been for 30 years. How about not charging us for it. We buy your multiple repackes of the movies, and your books, and everything else. It wouldn't hurt to let us have this stuff for free. Stop capatilizing on our fandom, and reward us. Plus, the OOT has yet to be cleaned up properly.

I do not know exactly what hyperspace offered/offers since I have never been a member, but I asked them to open up the archives and make their stuff available.

Be sure to explain just what OOT is. that's not a Lucasfilm coined term, right?

That sounds like a good idea, I've spent some time in there [Hyperspace] through a friends account and believe me, there is absolutely nothing in there worth paying for. The few things they actually setup specifically for paying members like the Ep3 webcam are obsolete now. And kinda pointless to begin with IMO.

I just would love to know when Lucas is going to start the process of shutting down his system permanentally. I'd actually suggestsomeone to take care of Lucas if he wasn't fictional.

Oh, yes. I referred to it as "the original theatrical version of the original trilogy." Hopefully, they know that THAT is.
