Poll off of Episode II alone

Author
Time
Before answering this I am asking you to watch Episode II and focus on Yoda's involvement between the Chancellor's actions and the moving story line as it pertains to the poll.

Strictly from any evidence seemingly visualized or otherwise, the question for this poll is Did Yoda believe Chancellor Palpatine as the Dark Lord of the Sith? My reason for asking this is CGI close-up or not, Yoda did at one point say only the Dark Lord himself knew the Jedi's weakness *in front of the Chancellor* but don't let me dissuade you. I'm afraid I don't have the DVD versions so if there is a poll-halting interview I am unaware (however curious if suitable) and would like to know George Lucas' status as he made the movies himself, ironically both of the first two unlike the original trilogy.

Just use #4, Bossk. Same effect.

Sorry Clone. I have nothing against you. Just the closest available response to what I was looking for. Blame Gundark.

It's allright, I know my imaginations drifts away. I have seen Episode II plenty of times and thought maybe people might help me determine how far off base my conclusions were. I mean, h311, whether or not it panned out, I still think it would have been cool for Anakin's pal on Tattoine to find Massassi Warrior Armor and have the buddy buddy relationship apparent in ESB with Darth Vader. Eh, no violent death or anything, simply an individual response to finding out too late that a loved one is always mortal, same as anyone I guess. I just figured if you watched Episode II with the intent of checking Yoda's interaction with Palpatine plus outside "pertinent" script, there seemed however remotely a chance for Yoda to feign obliviousness to circumstances known to people who have seen the rest of Star Wars.

(Possibly Stupid) Reason #1:
TPM
<Obi Wan Kenobi> But Master Yoda said I should mindful of the future... (perhaps implying knowledge the other Jedi are going to be slaughtered -- very far fetched)

#2
TCW
<Yoda> Too sure of themselves they are, even the older, more experienced Jedi.

(This one is far fetched and only through broken English possibly relevant)
#3
TCW
<Yoda> Until caught the killer is, *our* opinion - she must respect
Followed closely by Palpatine playing Chancellor with Anakin, this is deep in the movie.

#4
TCW
<Yoda> Only the Dark Lord of the Sith is aware of our [shortened capabilities]
Spoken in the presence of Palpatine.

And last but not least, the CGI close-up of Yoda when Amidala's life had just been threatened in the beginning and the Council was discussing with Palpatine what to do ->
<Palpatine> I realize this disruption would mean added security, but perhaps an old friend, Obi Wan Kenobi.

If you see the possibility I'm not a complete geek (though I hold no grudge to those who do) make a concious effort to at least humor the idea that Yoda was aware of Palpatine when watching Episode II. As was said in Episode I through Qui Gon - Your focus determines your reality. That is all. If only more nerds were as understanding perhaps pencil protectors wouldn't be a defining point or as defining. They have their function, stylish no, but functional.

i think that yoda suspected, he suspected but didnt know. i can tell you that if he was sure that pali was the sith lord he would have confronted he, but he wasnt, and so he didnt want to take the risk, cus if he was wrong, it would not have been a good time for the jedi if you know what i mean.

It's good I'm not so much of a geek anymore but glad I haven't lost my geek status at any rate. From what I have heard the funeral is a result of *most* Jedi's biting the dust, it's only more trained Jedi such as Yoda and Obi Wan (If you strike me down I will become more blah blah blah) that was supposedly to be explained in the second movie. Here-say dictates a Jedi "skill" for turning into invisible mist (what, you have a better explanation? so although it says nothing about future happenings I think losing innocence is what these movies are about. There's not any misuse of Jedi power so far tho, which is somewhat disturbing. I just thought of this and Yoda never said Anakin turned to the dark side, even while on his killing spree. Not until Darth Vader blatantly choked the advocate against the force was there any unrefutable proof of darksideness, (well besides killing the opposition of finding the rebellion). There's not any stance really that makes it pointless for discussion hence this now. Hey, if anyone else wants to start a new thread, talk about midochlorians or whatever. Spelling I guess doesn't explain Lucas' shortcut for finding the kid and I can't explain it... after winning the "They knew" bit my friend threw out the "chlorines" <laughing myself only> and I had nothing to retort with.

Personally, I think Yoda will have a prime role in the downfall of Anakin. And I hope for the love of (a higher supreme being it is not a Matrix ending... gimme Dark City and call it a day.

To me, that glaring look Yoda gives Palpatine in the beginning of Ep2 says it all. He may not think he's Sith, but he's at least thinking "Hmm, this guy is a dick".

And I thought I would be the rude one, telling him he is a loser. You don't have to go that deep into the plot dude. Whether or not Yoda thinks Palp is some Dark Sith or what not is rather irrelevant, because he doesn't do anthing about it, as we see in the OT.

BUT, not to sound too much like an ass, he probably does not know it because the force sends him cloudy messages.
I just hate stupid people.
