Idea: fan edit... for those who like Zombies

let me know what you all think of this idea…

I was just watching Resident Evil for the first time and came up with an idea… kind of based off of JohnBoy3434’s idea for an amalgamation of the NOTLD movies… my idea is simple, but i dont know how difficult it would be to execute… what my plan is, is to take all modern zombie movies (Dawn of the Dead 2004, NOTLD 90, Resident Evil 1 & 2, 28 days & weeks later, etc) and cutting them up and making them into somewhat of a TV series, cutting back and forth from different “locations” (ie, different movies), using the T-Virus storyline from Resident Evil as the origin of the zombies… of course to pull this off successfully, any resolution to these movies would have to be put in the last “episodes”, and I would want to get rid of the licker, as i dont feel it is a zombie per se… and i dont know what is in Resident Evil Apocalypse that would need to be cut out.

Does this sound interesting, or even possible, to anyone? I would really like some ideas on this, because I have always dreamed of a zombie TV show.

I actually think this sounds pretty cool. You could have maybe two or three different stories going on in each episode, but not end them all at the same time. That way you could introduce a new zombie movie into the mix, and have a storyline "end" every other episode or so. Go for it!

Sounds like a GREAT project idea! A "zombie mini-series" based on some of the great zombie movies of cinema!

It's probably a good idea to realize that, while it theoretically sounds like a "take Movie A scene and put it here, take Movie B scene and put it afterward" it'd be a lot harder to make it flow than that. There are the visual aesthetics and styles of each individual movie that would need to match better via some color correcting, image cropping/resizing, etc., and not to mention finding a way to make it all work together besides just "the T-virus."

Still, don't let me rain on your parade! It sounds like a FASCINATING idea! Lots of work to truly make it art, but really really intriguing. You'll see me in the ticket line!

I always thought the "redneck" scene in the original DOTD could meld with the ending of NOTLD 90.

I also think you're going to have a difficult time making it flow, but it'll be interesting to see how it works out.

My suggestion--don't use the Resident Evil storyline as the basis for the origin of the zombies. It's a crappy storyline. Go with 28 Days Later. It's minimalistic, but it gets the point across, and you can still use the lab guys that pop up throughout the Resident Evil movies. They're just involved with the creation of "Rage", rather than the whole T-Virus thing.
