Well, I work at a store that sells DVDs and my boss, the DVD manager, attended a DVD managers conference for all DVD managers Australia-wide (just for our chain of stores I believe). The studios presented their upcoming titles as well as informing about future (christmas) sales promotions.

A handful of promotional things went on:
* Wilfred was walking around and took the stage at one point
* There was a video message from the cast of Knocked Up promoting their upcoming DVD
* Another video message from Kenny

The main thing however, was the presentations (think powerpoint here) of new titles. A lot of the cover art was not yet allowed to be public and hence they do it this way to stop people from taking photos and stuff. There was a number of titles of interest for the coming months, though many that I can remember are 'complete collections' for TV shows:
* Blade Runner: Final Cut (2-Disc, 5-Disc, 5-Disc in Deckard briefcase - see below)
* Transformers (2-Disc, 2-Disc with tin, 2-Disc with transforming case)
* Complete Family Guy Box (Seasons 1-6, Uncovered, Freaking Sweet Collection, Happy Freaking Christmas)
* Complete M*A*S*H Collection (same as the stateside one, different packaging I believe? Glad we're gonna get it)
* Complete Six Feet Under Collection (may've had special packagaing, need to check)
* Repackaged James Bond Ultimate Collection (now includes Casino Royale, probably current release with revised cover art, and Casino Royale branded poker set)
* Die Hard Box Set (Special Editions of all 4 films, to replace the current money-making 3-film, single-disc each set)
* Rocky Complete Collection (replaces the current box set by including Rocky Balboa and better packaging. Also comes with Rocky "Italian Stallion" gown)

Remember, this is here in Australia. I will talk to him again tomorrow and see if he remembers any of the cool stuff and post again. I know he mentioned the "Cloverfield" trailer being shown. He may have also seen other footage from the film, will double-check.

Anyway, this isn't to stir people up. I just thought you guys should know that there are plans and things happening for a Star Wars megaset, which contradicts the official word we've heard all year. The word from Fox was that because its still at that uncertain stage that it could end up being a smaller set or that it might be delayed. However, they were mentioning it to say that it was probable an Australian release would follow. He did say that they made a point of the set being "every version / every format" or something to that effect - basically, the original and SE versions of the film (plus a ton of extras).

Here are the two pics of the Blade Runner collection that were mistakenly put up early on EzyDVD several months back. The press release for the US R1 versions have been made available at DVD Active now, but EzyDVD's page listing caused a stir back when there was no concrete info. You can see the pics and that original preliminary info, still here.
