Does this version feature the same color correction you talked about doing just for the film? ("Grading Project") I would love to see screencaps if anyone has them.
As many others have said before me, I think the way the book was worked for the book. Tolien originally wanted to have six books, but the publisher wanted to save time and combine the books together. I personally think six movies that were normal length would have been better than three long movies, but then again, I'd say the movies are fine the way they are. Books can't be adapted exactly, but yours is probably good nonethless
I'm very glad you have restored Aragorn's authority as well as the color to Lothlorien. Did you add color correction to the entire image, or just to parts of the image? It looks like you added some yellow and red. I was disappointed by the blue tones seen in the film -- didn't match the books at all IMO.
I also hated Aragorn the anti-hero as he was in the movies. First of all it doesn't fit the time in which the books were written much more of a late 20th century idea. Also Tolken wrote Aragorn's character very much is related to the heroic ideal of a man who is chosen for a mission and very much prepared to fulfilling his destiny. The movie's Aragorn is filled with self doubt and much less powerful because of it. Though I loved the movies overall this was a typical "I know better then the author move" by Hollywood or New Zealand in this case. I agree as well about the lack of green in the movie. The books very clearly contrast the "green" of nature with the dark smoke of the machines. The movie lacked some of that.
Having just realized that you people are still interested in this set of movies, I have to confess.... I lost my FOTR EE Book-Cut. BUT DON'T PANIC! Grab a towel and listen:
I can re-cut this movie again! I can re-grade it again! These things take me a day (nonstop) to work on, and I have a few free days ahead! Also, I was cutting the first FOTR book-cut on a craphappy computer.... now I have a better and faster one which will aggravate me MUCH less! I also have obtained an HDTV rip of "Fellowship" (unfortunately this one is only the theatrical cut). I am able to edit both the HD version or the SD Extended version. If you want me to edit this again, and upload it... I need to know what version you prefer. Sure, there is no book cut without the Extended Scenes.... but, just in case.

And how will you release this? I would prefer BitTorrent.
Anyway, I can't wait seeing this. I never saw any of your book-cuts but I'm sure that this will be excellent.
I lost the FOTR one, and the new TTT one (I have the crappy old one). I still have ROTK. But I'd like to re-do them all.
Yes, it will be Bittorrent. Most likely Demonoid stuff.
Thanks, man! I'm starting on it as I type this!
I need one thing. If anyone has the first Battle for Middle-Earth game, I'd severely appreciate it if you could send me the audio file for the opening video of the game-version prologue where Gandalf narrates what Galadriel does in the films. That would be great!
Thanks for your help, ThrowgnCpr! Much appreciated! I know this sounds like fluff, but I'm serious!
