So, who saw the picture of the new Bat-Cycle for The Dark Knight?

I saw it. Looks cool. Whoever their production designer is should get a medal. Polished yet under-stated, as it should be.

Yep.

Just started reading "DC: The New Frontier". It reminds me of WATCHMEN, but not as dark. Also got Green Arrow: The Long Bow Hunters.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Long Bow Hunters is a GREAT story. I remember reading it when I was...about 17 or 18. The art was awesome as well.

Speaking of GA: (SPOILERS)

Is anyone else as PISSED as I am that the monthly GA is over? There was a "The End" at the end of this month's book. That was one of my favorite books every month. The art was spot on and the stories were great.

Just finished reading them. Good stuff, very entertaining, good times, even though the Jack Kirby style artwork of "New Frontier" looks a little too much like Pokemon for my taste. The artwork in "Longbow Hunters" is good though, reminds me of the Batman VS. Predator stories.

On Marvel and their current direction **SPOILERS for Current Stories**

Does anyone else think that with the advent of the Skrull invasion (ie: Elektra) that it isn't Tony Stark, but Steve Rogers (aka: Captain America) who was a Skrull, and that the REAL Rogers is somewhere safe?

Has anyone heard of DC's new gimmick? They're releasing "Final Crisis" next May to coincide with the end of Countdown. This is one of the reasons I'm dropping DC titles and picking up Marvel ones. Too many damn gimmicks.

I heard they turned Kyle Rayner/Ion into the new Parallax. As someone who grew up with Kyle Rayner, I hate to see them do that to him. Fans didn't like it with Hal, what makes DC think fans will like it with Kyle?

Damn you DC!

If it's any consolation, he's a Green Lantern again by October.

Anyone read All-Flash? I thought they were going to reboot with Wally in a new All-Star series. My mistake. They're picking up the old Flash series at #231. Pheh...

Also, WWHulk ROCKS.

Well that Flash:FMA mostly sucked can you really blamed them? DC screwed up big time with the character of Bart Allen, making him the Flash and stealing any semblence of his old personality. Why they killed him instead of de-aging him is anyone's guess.

He'd better be.

Now some news on the animated adaptation of DC: The New Frontier -

http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=121938

The New York Times today showed the first image from the upcoming direct to DVD adaptation of Darwyn Cooke's The New Frontier.

From the article:

One of the biggest challenges was paring down the story from just under 400 pages into a 70-minute film. The comic book version has a sprawling cast and multiple subplots, from a nearly 40-page sequence that depicts the fate of the Losers, a squad of soldiers from DC’s war comics, to following Hal Jordan’s path from reluctant fighter pilot in Korea to his discovery of the power ring that will turn him into Green Lantern. In between, Wonder Woman and Superman debate their own involvement in Southeast Asia; the Martian Manhunter arrives on Earth; and John Henry rises in Tennessee to combat the Ku Klux Klan.

But the process was not without its bumps. In the first three drafts, neither Wonder Woman nor Lois Lane, both significant in the comic, was in the film. “You have to pick your battles,” Mr. Cooke said. “I had to give up a lot of things that would make me weep, not because they need to be in the film but because I wanted to see them animated. But Lois and Wonder Woman had to be in.”

The 70 minute film is due for release in February of 2008, and will be previewed this coming week at the San Diego Comic-Con. Click on the link above for the full article.[/quote]

How can SUPERMAN: DOOMSDAY already suck when it hasn't even been released yet?

some guy claimed to have seen the doomsday movie probably was another troll.

I love that comic the life and death of superman. and the bbc radio play is one of my favorites, it even had red leader and biggs from star wars in it.

I am so frickin excited for next year to see Batman: the dark Knight, and indiana jones IV gonna be a great year.

speaking of comics who here likes the painkiller jane show on sci fi?

what do you guys think of the girl who is going to play supergirl on smallville?

I don't watch Smallville much so I can't really comment on the decision to bring in Supergirl.

I have no interest in seeing Indiana Jones 4 nor will I offer any support to hype this long delayed vanity project.

I will however gladly support "The Dark Knight" and "Iron Man". I wish Robert Downey Jr. the best of luck as Tony Stark/Iron Man.

do you guys like j.m.s. take on the amazing spider-man . I like how he returned spidey to the Black Suit and made it very dark post civil war.

Spider-man is not a sissy like he was in the film spider-man 2, he generally is vicious and kicks some serious ass.

Its all that dark angst without the venom symbiote, reminds you of black venom spide-man from spider-man 3

two of the modern trilogy's that were decent but not great were the comics movie series spider-man and x-men.

both the 3rd film in the x-men franchise and spider-man series were not as good as the first two films.

some of the greatest comic book movies ever are the crow, the first batman and batman begins, as well as the first superman movie. falling just slighly below them are spider man 1 and 2 and x-men 1 and 2.

i also liked the original noirish batman the animated series, and the animated movie mask of the phantasm.

I'm not really a fan of batman beyond but mark hamill's voice acting is nothing short of brilliant in return of the joker.

I really liked Batman Beyond... it took the universe of B:TAS and did something different and interesting with it.

Quoted for truth; I watched an episode the other day. I remember b:TAS more, but Batman Beyond still gives me good memories.

I'm not familiar with Norton--I've somehow managed to avoid every film he's starred in.

That said, I'm definitely looking forward to the Hulk film. Because smashing things is both fun and useful.

Oh boy, are you in for a treat, then! Go and rent Fight Club right now! And then watch American History X. Then you'll look forward to the Hulk even more.

Oh, and is anyone else having an awesome time reading the Sinestro Corps War? Now THAT's some awesome comic-ness.
MTFBWY. Always.
