When we next see Dooku ("your swords please"), it actually looks like he is walking away from the stairs, not the spot he jumped to.
It's my personal theory that Christopher Lee actually did walk down the stairs, and this was shot. However, Lucas didn't like something about it (maybe there was Dooku dialog he didn't like). So instead of reshooting the scene, he just had ILM use the gaudy CGI jump.

, (erikstormtrooper, i think that's a way to do it, i'm trying to keep his entrance and lightning on the saber)just to show you, the result as it is now, a lot of "reedition" shots, cuts, trimming dialogue, sound effects..etc..to make this faster...when you do a work like that, you find things that we missed, ther's a lot of mistakes, redendency(!!), goofs etc...so my edit is not to change any plot of the story, but i'm trying to enhance some shots to serve the story..
