It was released gradually, so it was probably different everywhere. It's been reported that the trailer for "Sorcerer" was before it at the Graumans Chinese that opening week.

Yup, the famous story is that the Sorceror trailer played at the premiere week and the expensive, much-hyped Friedkin film suddenly looked like a piece of shit when Star Wars came on afterwards.
