According to Wikipedia, citing the SW Insider, Luceno had planned to write about the quest for immortality of Qui-Gon and Darth Plagueis, but this was put on hold due to "continuity concerns."

LOL! "Continuity concerns"! Since when has that bothered Lucas?
Sounds like it could be cool, though, seeing that quest into the Force from both Dark and Light Side perspectives.
