Who Have You Met?

Author
Time
I started this thread because I was wondering what famous people you have met in your lives. And I don't just mean that you've seen them on the street... who have you stopped and talked to, gotten autographs from, taken pictures with, etc.

Me...

Lou Ferrigno (the original Hulk on TV)
Barry Williams (Greg Brady)
The guys from Jackyl (all five of the originals)

My brother on the other hand had a pretty cool time at a monster truck rally with Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. They were attending as his guests (my brother works for Clear Channel who sponsors many of these events). Here's the proof...

Met Gary Busey while I was working @ 7-Eleven; he was stoned out of his tree and trying to cash a 3rd party cheque @ 3am. Very funny, since the idiot I was working with actually cashed the cheque.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I've met Bryan Singer (director of X-men), skippy from family ties, Agent spender from X-files, one of the kids in the hall, Getti Lee from RUSH, Meg Ryan walked right by me, and I saw Ralph Fiennes at my theatre, but he seemed to be incognito.
And I dance. And I sing.
And I'm a monkey, in a long line of kings.

No such luck for me, I guess I don't work as a magnet for stars... maybe because I don't seek them...

Out of celebrities that zoomed past my very own eyes I can only mention Pope John Paul II (I was a bystander on a sidewalk and his Papa-Mobile passed close to me) and Polish actor Jerzy Kryszak (one of my fav actors and THE best standing comedian I know, he frequently gaves performances on HBO Poland), who gave me his autograph, twice. The second encounter lasted longer - as I left the theatre there was a traffic jam, thanks to which I had to walk next to his Jeep - he spotted me, honked and waved to me and my folks
I've repaid the favour by updating his entry in the IMDb.

...

Well, I do have powerful friends - you guys must remember my old photo, right?
I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

Nope, don't remember your old photo.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I hung out with Kevin Smith when he came to my college. Got in the meet and greet with him. Got some sigs, gave him my resume, etc.

I MET KURT COBAIN AND THE REST OF NIRVANA. I WORKED AT THEIR LAST U.S. CONCERT BEFORE KURT DIED. I EVEN SAT ON THE STAGE AND TALKED TO DAVE GROHL BETWEEN SONGS. I'VE MET NUMEROUS COMIC BOOK ARTISTS AND WRITERS WHEN I WAS IN THAT FIELD. I'VE MET CLIVE BARKER AND WES CRAVEN AT THE SAME TIME. THEY HAD GONE TO WATCH A MOVIE TOGETHER. SEVERAL BANDS OUT OF DALLAS THAT MADE IT BIG USED TO PRACTICE AT THE SAME STORAGE PLACE THAT MY FRIEND'S BAND PRACTICED. IT WAS LIKE A GIANT CONCERT THERE EVERY DAY.

Was Carrey cool to you or did you not really have a chance to talk with him?

It was Sunday, October 28, 2001 that I met members of the rock band "Survivor". On my concert ticket, I have signatures by Frankie Sullivan (guitarist), Marc Droubay (drummer), and Billy Ozello (former bassist). For those of you who don't know who Survivor is, it's the band that's most famous for such hits as Eye Of The Tiger (Rocky III), Burning Heart (Rocky IV) and The Moment Of Truth (The Karate Kid).

I am quite familiar with Survivor. I used to listen to them when I was younger. Not so much so now. However I still dig hearing their songs when I watch those two Rocky movies. But I don't remember what the Karate Kid song sounds like.

Hey Bossk,

It's been a long time since i've seen The Karate Kid, but I think Survivor's song (The Moment Of Truth) plays at the end of the movie while the credits are rolling. Who do you like better as their lead singer? Dave Bickler or Jim Jamison?

I'm trying to remember which one came first. I prefer the later vocalist. He seemed to have a greater range.

Dave Bickler is the original lead singer. Here is the list of albums that Survivor has released.

Dave Bickler
Survivor (1979)
Premonition (1980)
Eye Of The Tiger (1982)
Caught In The Game (1983)

Jim Jamison
Vital Signs (1984)
When Seconds Count (1986)
Too Hot To Sleep (1988)

To be honest, I wasn't in to them enough to even realize they had multiple lead singers. I never got that into music at that young an age. I just enjoyed the songs. Not until the late 80s did I get into music enough to pay attention to band members and the evolution of the bands. Sorry.

He seemed cool, but these asses ushered me away, telling me Carrey was too busy to talk to "little punks who want autographs." I was rather dissapointed, but I did get to shake his hand.

So far I have met and talked a bit with a few stars but no one from Star Wars Yet. I have got to a few Sci-Fi Conventions.
some were stars of the old and new star trek shows.

The Coolest was when I got to meet the Original Batgirl!! Beautiful Yvonne Craig.

She was so Cool she even gave me a big Hug and said I was "Cute". From that day on.. I can see why Robbin kinda liked her. hehe That was back in 1986/87.
