Oh, that's not such a big deal. Throughout history there have been many real-life monarchs that were even younger than 13 (but yeah, it's crazy).

I can buy the part about her being Queen at 13 (her accent bothers me more than her age) but it's all of the other implausable and stupid stuff I can't get past in the PT.

Jeez, I see my thread turned into a prequel trilogy rating fest, heh. To be honest, the prequels are all on about the same level for me. I enjoy them for what they are; extremely, somewhat enjoyable, dumb shit that could never live up to the original trilogy.

So Phantom Menace= Attack of the clones= Revenge of the sith.

Oh, and the chase scene through the city in the night at the beginnning of Attack of the clones is still really well executed i think. I find it very exciting for some reason.

I do believe Revenge of the sith is the absolute silliest and dumbest of the bunch though, for such a serious story.

Just watch Obi-Wans hair in the city race. One minute it's blowing in the wind, next, it's like he's got two tons of hair spray holding it in place, never moves.

That's another thing that bugs me about AOTC. Obi-Wans f***ing hair piece. Man, it looks really bad in parts!

But you should be focusing on story, not his hair.

But consider in history they are usually put into power as a figure head if they are that young, if this was the case then I would have no problem with it. The problem is that the story is that she was freely democratically elected. That makes you think the Naboo are idiots. I didn't get this idea until that horrible "I was too young to be elected speech in AOTC", that made the whole thing seem silly frankly.

Word.

I picked up on the hair thing the first time I saw AOTC. The wig and fake beard the Ewan wears for the reshoot scenes have to be the cheapest crap I've seen on film. Not to mention the regular hair extensions, WTF? I suppose it's like evertything in the PT, near enough is good enough.

Back to the dvds I have all three PT films on dvd. I don't watch them, they are just packed away. The only reason I hang on to them is, well I've already paid for them, but for all 3 I have the nice region 4 slip covers. Well TPM is really nice and they get gradually worse from there, but at least they cover the horrible cover art.

And who knows I may want to watch them again one day.

True enough. Frankly, I don't even remember that speech, since I've only seen AOTC once.

That speech is of course NOT in the movie.

I dunno, I didn't mind sitting through that piece of crap just to see Nipply Portman get her gear off. Then again, I was 16.

It was in the deleted scenes though, wasn't it?
