^ Funny you should say that.

I've been playing Super Paper Mario, and it totally reminds me of an old-school RPG. It's extremely reminiscent of Zelda II or something like the Superman game on the NES, which is a total underappreciated classic.

I'm anticipating cleaner textures and a sharper image. Plus, I think it will support the native widescreen mode found in the PS2 version.

My Gamecube has a component out, I just don't have a television that can use that.

I was by a GameStop today so I zipped in for a second, man they really do rip you off these days. I remember getting some pretty good deals there back in the day. They blatantly have a brand new shrink wrapped copy of RE 4 for $19.99 and right on the next shelf over a used copy for $17.99. Is it just me, or should a used game be more than two bucks off? Over half of the used games didn't even have the original box art, but rather generic packaging.

The thing they did have going on that might make it worth while was a buy two get one free deal on used games. That would mean three games for $34 bucks, but with a yellow "used" stickers permanently attached to every side and the possibilty of lame generic packaging. BestBuy still seems the best deal.

I've found myself hardly even thinking of buying games anymore ever since I got gamefly, great service.

Permanently attached? I've bought used games at Gamestop before, and I had no trouble with pulling those stickers off.

^Really? Maybe I will go that route then. I noticed they put the sticker directly on the spine of the actuall insert, rather than on the plastic shell. I figured removing it would tear the paper. What is up with the vast majority of GameStop's games having those generic covers instead of the original ones? (Or is that just unique to my area?) Do that many people loose their original boxes? Or perhaps people just mod their systems, make a DVD-R backup, stick it in the original case and sell the original disc to GameStop sans the case...

Well, the Gamestop in town puts the stickers on the plastic. I'm not so sure uf they'd come off the actual insert very easily.

I think it's just that. I've never really had a problem keeping track of cases for games of the sixth and seventh gen consoles, though, so you might be right about people making illiegal copies.

I visited four different GameStops and never found one that had all three games I wanted and today was the last day of the buy two get one free sale. So I finally ended up getting a bunch of cheap older games, I just spent $20 and got six games. Among them was Metal Gear Solid 2. Now, I just have to wait until my friend gets his PS3 so I can have his PS2, until then I have some pretty game boxes to stare at.

I had never played any of the Resident Evil games before, but had always heard a lot about them. So I started playing the second one, I spent so much time trying to get it set up so I could save my progress, it seems they didn't have NTFS file systems in mind when they designed the thing. I finally had to install good old Virtual PC along with WinME and a virtual hd formated in Fat32 in order to get it to work. After all that I stayed up late playing it, around 1 am I was walking past a broken window in the police station and these arms stuck through the window grabbed me, I nearly wet my pants and threw my laptop. It was awesome! Then I played it for about thirty more minutes and got really bored with it, too much running back and forth and wasting time. I like my adventure games and my action games to remain separate, a bit of each just doesn't work for me. I still think I want to get RE 4 though, it is over the sholder camera view right? I have heard a lot of people who don't like the other RE games say they love RE 4, so I think I will like it more.

RE4 is the pinnacle of what video games should aspire to be.

StarCraft is my all time favorite PC game. In terms of the effect that gaming has had on my life, StarCraft has probably had more influence than any other game. Now the sequel has been officially revealed and I hope it will be good.

So far the graphics are a bit disappointing (I hate exaggerated, cartoon'ish features), but we'll see.

Wind Waker Update - I'm in the Earth Temple. Thank God I got the Ballad of Gales to do some warping. The sailing was getting a bit tedious. Moving along nicely now. Can't imagine it'll take me more than a few more weekends to finish. Then I'll probably download OoT.

Unfortunately you'll have to do a good bit more sailing to finish the game.

There's more to graphics than technical capabilities. For instance, every Terran unit/structure looks like a plastic, child's toy. While it looks better in motion and it won't hurt the gameplay, it looks dumb.

All the Terran buildings I've seen look pretty much identical to their Starcraft I counterparts, just rendered instead of sprites. I personally think it looks fine, though I guess I can see the 'toy' look you're talking about. I personally thought the same thing about the original Starcraft, but found it enjoyable all the same.

Is anyone else not terribly excited about Halo 3? I haven't played the beta but I'm not really itching to either.

In the original game the Terran units had a much more metallic look. They had metallic sheens and seemed to be almost rusting. Going from that to this really makes their structures and ships look plastic. I really thought the Siege Tanks looked like Nerf guns.

Woo!

And *bump*

So, I went and sold some games I never play anymore at Gamestop, who are currently in the middle of their "GameDays" sale, which means I get 30% extra for trading in more than five games.

So I got like 68 bucks when I would have gotten 45 any other time. Bought a new copy of Starcraft I and a Nyko WiiRemote charger stand. I figure it will save me money on batteries in the long run. Now I just gotta figure out what to do about my X-360 controller.

I have a Nyko charger and it works pretty well. My batteries don't get EATEN so badly, either!

In other news, I traded in some unwanted XBox games to get myself a DS Lite with Sonic Rush and Big Brain Academy. Slick machine. Me likey.

I've got the Red Ring of Death on my 360 and I'm out of warranty. Didn't start doing it until after the Spring update, so I'm gonna break Micro$oft's balls over this.

I'm 'so far so good' on the Red Ring of Death, but I'm constantly wary of it.
