I for one love the original trilogy (derp....) because they are always entertaining to watch, even from the middle on flipping thru TV channels. It's when you start looking to hard, that's when people start not liking them. They are A-list pure action movies about terrorists and cops and Bruce Wilis kicking ass. Anyways, enough with my incoherent thoughts...discuss.
PS...some people have been calling it fake...i can't figure out why tho.
Looks good so far. I love the first Die Hard, the best was Die Hard with a Vengeance. Part 2 was terrible, hopefully they pull this one off well too. Sammy Jackson made DHWV though.
I've enjoyed the first Die Hard very much, that's a classic, and kinda liked the second one... I've seen only about 10 minutes of the third one on TV, and it didn't seem so good. It appears that reviving old franchises and movie series is the new movement for Hollywood (Rocky Balboa, possibly Indy 4). All I wanted is BTTF4 with a decent farewell to the screens by Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering
Look forward to seeing this one day, I really like the Die Hard films especially Die Hard and Die Hard 2, and hopefully this is return to the style of those first two, as I was slightly dissapointed by the third one, though for what type of film it is, it was a good enough effort but there was something missing from it when compared to the other two.
i dunno about this one.. the first die hard was clearly the best of them all.
but this doesnt have the die hard look to it. i mean its going to definatly be more like 3 than the other two. the part where the car almost crushes him before he ducks between the other two cars is just bad. both looks wise and idea wise.
but whos knows.. trailers are sometimes decieving... cough cough episode 1 cough cough..
Looking forward to this. The first one is a classic, thought the second was alright and I actually really enjoyed the third one. Nice to see McTiernan is back on, at least as producer, something part 2 lacked.
I agree, the sequence with the car going over their heads looks like shit. Other than that, it looks like mostly real effects. Let's hope so .
damn sorry to spoil the party... I hated it. It looks too much like a generic action flick with michael bay-ish videogame camera angles and that just doesn't give me that die hard feeling. And I hate the kid in the car who's acting EXACTLY the same way he acted in that Herbie fully loaded movie when he was in the car driving around with lindsay Lohan... not a good sign. It's like they're not even trying if they pull inspiration from a Lohan disney movie for a scene... so I see nothing really good in this trailer except Willis . I still have hope for the film and would love it to be a great die hard movie though.

I agree on this. The original was classic on many levels, the second one was awful, the third was good. I'm doubtful they can capture the magic again and it looks waaaay too generic.
Yeah, saw the previews. What happened to the good ol' days when plot and substance mattered rather than "let's see how many uses for these computer generated effects we can get"?

Oh shit, you're right. Well that's a little embarrassing
Hotrod, since the verb form of message has always sounded odd to me, I'd like to take this moment to simply say your signature could also be changed to massage.
Anyways, I liked the first two Die Hard movies (not sure about the third since I only saw it on a network broadcast) but those previews make this fourth one look way over the top.
Wow, the movie has had RAVE reviews and is getting almost nothing but positive feedback from fans, including those going around forums going "PG-13? WTF!!! THIS SUCKS." I'm officially psyched for this now, and will be seeing it tonight.
Saw midnight premier, thought it was pretty good. Lots of action and sly one-liners, but don't expect a great plot! I went in there thinking Justin Long would get annoying fast but it was the opposite! Will look forward to getting it on Blu Ray later this year.
