I feel the same way. I think the major studios are just snapping up the rights to whatever 'hot' cartoon/comic property they can get their hands on at the moment. There's even talk of a 'Thundercats' movie. But I honestly can't see any of them working as a live-action film - not even the Justice League...
The thing is, as soon as someone's screenplay is optioned, the media go on about how this or that film is 'in development', when really, the idea for a movie has only just been hatched.

No argument here.
Don't know if this really belongs here or not, but I hear that Joel Silver has signed on to produce a new film adaptation of He-Man & The Masters of the Universe, with a plot outline rumored to take He-Man's alter ego, Prince Adam, and make him a soldier instead of a prince. Not sure if that's a good idea or not, but even as a longtime He-Man fan, I can honestly say I don't expect to see a new film version of He-Man. I can't shake the feeling that Hollywood will either screw up along the way, leaving the film in permanent development Hell, or even worse, they'll just give us a really crappy He-Man film.
Has there been any discussion on the rumored Justice League America film that Warner Brothers supposedly greenlit a few months ago, set for a 2010 release?

Nice. I wish more arists would give Wonder Woman the curly hair, with her being quasi-greek and all.

Yeah, I heard about the whole 'Thundercats' as a movie thing. Thing is, movie adaptations of stuff like He-Man, Thundercats, etc., they need to be handled with a lot of care, we need like Lord of the Rings style handle-with-care, and LOTR was kind a stroke of luck for all involved. That kind of luck is very rare.
On top of that, you need a body builder type guy to play He-Man, someone at least 6'2", vaguely blonde hair, blue eyes, at least some degree of charisma, likability, etc. He-Man needs to look like a god among men, and love him or hate him, previous He-Man actor Dolph Lundgren had that god-among-men look to him. You can't just hire a guy around Brad Pitt's height, put him in loincloth and say 'this is He-Man'. That ain't gonna cut it.
Hey, anyone read those comics based on Serenity/Firefly?
