Bringing two topics together ("Watchmen" and "movies stuck in development hell") it looks like they're trying for a 2008 release for the "Watchmen" film, with Zack Snyder (who directed 300) at the helm. This test shot of Rorschach that was inserted into a 300 trailer for one frame looks rather promising:

And yet, on IMDb.com, Keanu Reeves is listed as set to play Dr. Manhattan. What the hell, Hollywood?!
