Yeah. I'm afraid Hollywood will either whitewash him and make him too heroic or turn him into an outright villain.

It should be made by the guy who does 24. But using a less intense style . . . . Eh, never mind.

David Lynch would be a good choice...

I worry also for how the Comedian will be depicted. I would hate for him to be played as a Wolverine knock off.

So... who's keeping an eye out for the direct to DVD animated adaptation of Death of Superman, starring Adam Baldwin as the voice of Superman? Or the animated adaptation of DC: The New Frontier?
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

And the adaption of the Teen Titans story The Judas Contract.

I'm definitely there on all three of them. I've never actually read the Judas Contract story in the comics, so I'm especially interested in that one. And New Frontier was just a marvelous take on DC's characters and I can't wait to see it animated.

I'm very much looking forward to these videos, especially Judas Contract. On the print side, I'm thinking that the new JLA series is really, REALLY good. I love Meltzer's work and the art is great.

What I know at this point about DC: New Frontier Animated Adaptation -

Kyle MacLachlan (spelling?) will voice Superman/Clark Kent
Lucy Lawless will voice Wonder Woman
Neil Patrick Harris will voice Barry Allen/Flash
David Boreanz/the Angel guy will voice Hal Jordan/Green Lantern
Brooke Shields will voice Carol Ferris

Aquaman, Batman and Martian Manhunter are also slated to appear, but no word on who's voicing them. It has been said that longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy will not be voicing Batman here, because the animators want to emphasize that this is not part of the regular DCAU.

In "Superman: Doomsday" Superman/Clark Kent will be voiced by Adam Baldwin, Lois Lane will be voiced by Anne Heche, and Lex Luthor will be voiced by James Marsters.

Funny thing: Baldwin voiced Hal Jordan for a cameo on JLU while Neil Patrick Harris voiced Atom on JLU.

And to be honest I don't know jack diddly about what's going on with Teen Titans: Judas Contract.

I would give anything for an animated adaptation of Kingdom Come, greatest Superman story of all time. Live action Kingdom Come would be even better, but I'll settle for an animated adaptation. I'd also like to see animated adaptations of Emerald Twilight/Rebirth, origin stories of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Captain Marvel, Knightfall/KnightQuest/KnightsEnd, even one of the great JSA stories. How about you guys?

Wouldn't mind seeing Kingdom Come in live action or animated (I think it would have to be animated to do it justice). My all time I'd REALLY like to see in either medium would of course be Dark Knight Returns as I think that's the best Batman story ever told. Identity Crisis would make a good story as well.

Yeah.. if you change the entire plot to something that doesn't suck.

So, thoughts on Countdown thus far?

I'm glad Darkseid is being used. He was a fave during the Superfriends when I watched it on Saturday morning cartoons, and I don't read many Supes titles.

'Twill be quite interesting to see where they go with Mary Marvel.

They REALLY need to publish a cross-over checklist. I've gotten stuck reading certain ones after the corresponding events in Countdown.

Identity Crisis is so full of holes and DiDio's blasted retroactively grim'n'gritty silver age mentality.

DKR is amazing.

Last week, I bought the issue of Secret Wars where Spider-Man first encounters the symbiote and gets his black costume. Of course, even though it's touted on the cover, like all good cliffhanger-media, the actual plot of the story has nothing to do with that, and the cover image is only fulfilled on the very last page. But it was still a very good issue and made me go back and try to find out what the Secret Wars were all about.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I've just started reading Alan Moore's "Watchmen" for the first time, and all I can say is...

I've read OMAC, Villains United, Identity Crisis, Infinite Crisis, and now I'm reading Countdown, but the 52 TPBs aren't being published quick enough for me to catch up before I spoil 52 for myself reading Countdown! I didn't jump right into 52 because I didn't want to spoil Infinite Crisis before I read it, but I decided if I don't jump into Countdown now, I'll be playing catch up for the rest of my life! *Takes breath*

You and me both. It's extremely dense and slow going. I'm in chapter...8 now, I think. So much to absorb. Great writer, no doubt.

So have there been any discussions/debates on the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man or Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts for the Iron Man film?

Some of the casting decisions that are made for these movies astound me. You'd think these companies would be more careful about their properties. I'm definitely anxious about that one...

Well, you know how it is. That big lazy wheel keeps turning in the sky, sometimes things come out odd. Look at it this way: at least they've hired seasoned actors to play Tony and Pepper as opposed to two uber-young people.

Is it wrong that I don't like the way they draw Wonder Woman there? Kind of makes her look like an anime chibi character.

That's not really the best depiction of Diana I've ever seen, but otherwise I love Darwyn Cooke's art style.

That was undeniably hilarious.

I personally prefer the way George Perez drew Wonder Woman in the late 1980s.
