Nice to see the non-news that work is not progressing, as well as the not-new clip of the Mace/Palpy duel.

Looking forward to seeing ANH when it's completed. In my dreams, of course.

I like it. I miss his initial twirl, because it was done so quickly as if to take jedis off guard. But I I didn't miss anything else from the scene. I like how you removed the dumb way the jedis just stood there as he slowly takes them down. Here it happens faster and is more believable.

I'm looking forward to the whole trilogy more than any other fan edit.

Keep up the great work!

Nice clip. No stupid stuff. Nice flow. Very well done.

But it ended before we see Palpatine's transformation. I was hoping to see how you handled that.

One day, perhaps...

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Thanks for the comments, Guys...

The "Palpatine transformation" is something that we've gone back and forth on, trying a lot of different things... We've taken a lot out...then put some back...then taken it out again....it's just one of those scenes which was handled so badly that it's very hard to fix. In fact, we worked on it so much, that we finally had to put it away and start on ANH...it almost broke us! LOL

So, we're still deciding on how to handle it...we'll tackle it when we finally get back to Jedi. Any brilliant suggestions out there?

This is my favorite version though...LOL!

There is nothing gay about getting a hummer from Darth Vader...

Glad to hear things are still moving.

Hello all. I'm a long-time reader, first-time poster. I discovered you lot through the youtube trailers and myspace page a while back. It was fantastic not to hear that the project has not been scrapped, and I firmly don't look forward to this project never seeing the light of day. I know this is going to be an alternative way to watch STAR WARS, but I have a feeling it would be the only way I would. A newbie's suggestion: you said you were considering using either Adywan's or Darth Editous' versions as the basis for your first film. I know DE has been out for a while and Adywan's "Revisited" edit is still in production, but for my two cents I think it would have been, had you continued with the project, worth sticking with the original plan, and working on Empire and Jedi until the Adywan edit was available, because it seems from what I've seen to mesh a lot better visually with the prequels. My that was a long sentence.

Oh, how I love double negatives.

Welcome, RoccondilRinon!

Yeah, we would prefer to use Adywan's. Not because we don't love Darth Editous' version, but because like you said...visually it would match up better with the Prequels. We did hold off for as long as we could, but, Ady's has now been pushed back to November and we don't want to wait that long...so basically, we will probably end up doing two versions. The first with DE's, and the second with Ady's. That is, of course, if Adywan gives us his blessing on that. Darth Editous has already been kind enough to do that.

As for Reborn being the only way to watch Star Wars...it will be for me...I know that.

Nice handling of the Jedi deaths. Cutting away makes it seem like they were really going at it. (Love the Wilhelm, too! )

Here's a thought I've had for a while, though it may take a lot of work: Would it be possible to remove the three Jedi red-shirts from the frame all-together? Just paint 'em out and make the scene Mace "Jedi Badass" Windu one on one with Palpatine. It would certainly make Mace look arrogant going it alone to take down Sidious, but in the end foolish. It also puts a nice stamp on the Jedi's overall fall.

BTW, what's the eta on "Star Wars"?

O.T. or No T., baby!

The clip that was posted is how the final cut on that scene is going to be....plus a few more sound effects. No painting out of Jedi "red-shirts". Although I do wish we had that capability.

Thanks for noticing the Wilhelm, I like it too.

No ETA. It's just going to be finished when it's finished. Which, if everything continues to go well, will be sooner than you think.

I think the best thing about the clip is that you don't feel like anything is really missing. It all seems to flow nicely. The sound in a few places seemed a little jarring - especially the window breaking - but i guess you are still making adjustments on this. The music seemed to fit well and doesn't distract from the action.

The 'redshirt' deaths are slightly improved and the 'Wilhelm' made me smile. I can see why they originally had Palpy take out the 3 Jedi , To show how good he is but the way it was shown made them simply look incompetent given that it never looked like he did much to best them. I guess the main problem there is that they were making it up as they went along. Any improvements are welcome

A further question that occurred to me a while back: which elements of the ROTS finale are you going to use? I assume the last bit of Jedi Reborn is going to be just the end of the original ROTJ (edited, but without PT elements); if so, where are the adoption of Luke (and Leia, re which see below), the creation of Darth Vader, and the Death Star scene going to be?

I was also going to ask if you've removed the subplot about Leia being Luke's sister. I don't know how easy or how plausible this would be. It drives several of Luke's actions during the rest of ROTJ, but on the other hand it ruins their smooch in ESB, diminishes Luke's own importance, and it begs the question "Why the hell didn't Vader sense it in ANH or ESB, when he was much closer to her, and for longer, than he ever was to Luke?" I never liked it, even the first time I saw it.

Leia being Luke's sister has been an accepted part of the Star Wars canon since 1983. To me, that part of the story is sacred ground, not for us to mess with. I'll mess with Ewoks... I'll mess with Jabba's Palace... But not that.

The end of ROTJ will have new music, that's a guarantee. The Ewoks and Lando's booty dancing will be scaled back.... Probably no Gungan celebration... And it will include a short, closing narration by Ian McDiarmid at the very end. I also want the final shot to be of the ghosts...(the original Sebastian Shaw version) instead of the ridiculous "family portrait with the Ewoks" shot.

As for the ROTS scenes: The Death Star scene is being bumped up to the prologue in the very beginning of ANH. The creation of Vader and Padme's death I don't want to go into details about right now. We're trying a few different things with it, but if it works, it's going to be beautiful.

The adoption of Baby Luke and Leia will happen right before Luke burns Vader's body...(if we can get it to work.) I like it there because it's cyclical. it brings you right back to ANH at the very end...making you want to watch the whole thing over again. We might include Yoda landing on Dagobah too...we'll see how it fits.

Cool. There's a lot of things I mind more than that lol, but there was something a while back that suggested you might have been considering it. Maybe it was the revelation scene from the Ranch project - I don't remember.
