all i can say is i wish the legacy series would be boycotted cause they killed off Mara Jade Skywalker, i hope whomever decided this gets lots of hate mail. i refuse to read the book and will cancell reading the legacy series and all star wars EU is now dead to me.

i wanted to strangle someone when they killed chewie and anakin solo.

that they make a strong and beloved female character like Zahn’s Mara go out like a chump to her whiny nephew jacen who seems to be the reincarnated darth vader of the prequels, is unforgivable. especially just to give Luke Skywalker the motivation to go out and kill again.

With George’s Treatment of the originals, the special editions and the prequels, and now this is think star wars is official dead to me.

WTH?! They killed off Mara? Chewie was bad enough. I could really care less about any of the Solo kids, especially Anakin. I guess after Chewie, any character is easy to kill.

I've personally found it difficult to read any Star Wars after Chewie died. I've said it plenty of times around these forums (and others), I read Star Wars to escape from the everyday world. I enjoy the drama and risks that the characters take and like seeing them win out in the end. It doesn't need to be "more real" to be good. It just needs to be good. Making it "more real" just makes it like the real world. The real world isn't always happy and roses. I want the heroes to always win. That hasn't been the case since Chewie died.

I can understand why Chewie dieing would be tough for some, because he is a beloved film character, but Mara Jade was never in the films so it is not as big a deal as with Chewie. Yes, I thought Mara Jade was a nice EU character, but never really a part of the Star Wars Saga like Chewie was.

Meh. I've read the old Han Solo novels. I think I might have read Zahn (sp?)'s trilogy. That's all the SW novels I ever bothered with. I care not for the EU.

Not knowing that your thread title was the name of a new book, I was wondering if someone pulled an Immolation Suicide move to protest the OOT not being on DVD in acceptable quality!
