The prequels are wretched in their official cut. All these re-edits do improve them, but compared to the unaltered OT, they still lack considerably. I just did a marathon of my prequel edits, followed by the GOUT and the OT blows the prequels AND their SEs away so much it has ceased to be funny. After finishing ROTJ I went back and watched the updated FX for Sy Snootles, and even when set to Lapti Nek, the whole scene falls flat compared to the original.

Just like we need to take away drivers licenses from elderly people who create mayhem on the roads, so should we take away the ability for aging directors to screw up their perfectly good films. I picture George Lucas ending up like Uncle Junior before it's all over.
