Bigbadaddyvader, I do agree with ya that the OOT movies in any form is enjoyable, but the problem is that home video, or home DVD now is an envolving process and it is very tough to watch something on a dated format.

I have a HighDefinition Widescreen TV, and EVERY DVD I watch now is anamorphically enhanced, as I laugh at the quality of the early DVDs that were taken from a laserdisk master. Can I still enjoy the movies in non-anamorphic? Of course so cause the movie is still #1, but you can't turn your head to bad quality.

I mean why were DVD players invented? Why were Big Screen TV's invented? Why were HD-DVD Players invented? Heck, why were TV's colorized in the late 60's from black and white? Would you want to watch an episode of Seinfeld in Black and White? Sure it would be just as funny, but EVERY TV show these days is in color, why would someone want to go backwards?

If you are happy with VHS or Laserdisk quality, I will give you your props, but I bought a DVD player in 1998 for one huge reason: SW in DVD quality! When I buy an HD-DVD player in a couple of years, and let me tell you I have seen it over friends houses, the picture quality is incredible in 1080i, I will want it for one reason: SW in HD!

I think Lucas has won as I have pretty much conceded this OOT will never be remastered and I will be stuck with shitty laserdisk quality for years on end. I mean does anyone hear really want to watch some crappy laserdisk masters of our favorite movies in 2015 while HD-DVD is swallowing the market share, and now we are 2 home video generations off from what is current?

As I said, if the GOUT works for you, thats great, but I can't remember the last time I sat down and watched my old 13" TV I had in high school and popped in the VHS SW version when I have a 52" Widescreen TV sitting there in the other room that could put out great quality of the OOT if it were done right. A matter of fact, why don't I throw away my remote control to my TV tonight, and just get up and change every channel like I did in the early 80's.
