It's definitely a major problem with Linksys routers...

Check this out

Everything just started going haywire as soon as I set up a static IP and started Port forwarding. Today, without starting up any P2P software it just started dropping my Internet connection. As soon as I turned off Port forwarding and set everything back to auto.. the problems stopped. It's a problem with a lot of Linksys routers. I just wish I done a lot more research before I slapped down £40 ($80) . So I now have to buy another router. Since getting Cable Broadband it's cost me a fair bit of money!

Anyway, thanks for the feedback guys!

I picked up a nice Netgear gateway/router at my local Goodwill store for $10
Might want to check any Goodwill or Salvation Army thrift stores like that.
