Here it is, recently released on SatrWars.com. Our first look at the new series in action. Some may not like it, but it put a big smile on my face.

I liked it a lot. Although seeing the hyperspace jump from inside the cockpit made me feel a bit angry at why that was left out of the prequel movies.

Yeah the hyperspace thing really stood out to me too.

I'm not really caring too much for this series, to me it seems to be retreading old ground. Though the animation looks really good and I'm an animation fan so it might be worth checking out for some cool action sequences, I don't expect much in the way of story.

I always thought this is the way the prequels should have been handled ie 3D animation. It certainly would have been a bold move, and George could of truly been limitless and really pushed the cg envelope. It would have also certainly seperated the trilogy's as different entities. But that's for a different topic.

p.s using flash video is lame. especially for lucasfilm who were big proponents of quicktime.

One question: why?

Why do we need to see more of the Clone Wars? Sure the animation looks cool, but story wise, I agree with auntie, retreading old ground.

It looks interesting but yeah i agree. Although I know I'll probably watch it no matter what. At least it'll be half hour episodes right?

True, he is a fat b@stard.

It looked like some video game scenes cut together. The Robot Chicken things were much funnier.

Well, retreading old stories or not, I think it looked awesome. I can't wait to see the full episodes. As long as the stories aren't total crap and the dialog is good, I think it'll be awesome. As long as Lucas' only involvement is giving a thumbs up or down to the stories, that shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I couldn't get the starwars.com one to load so, I resorted to watching it on youtube. Here's a link for anyone else that couldn't watch it on Starwars.com. That is the trailer right? Anyways, I agree it's just retreading old ground.

How is it retreading old grounds? We will never have seen thes stroies. We get to see Ventress actually hunt down Anikan, which is a good thing, because she found him way to fast in the cartoon network series. We will get to see battles we have never seen, and longer and more involving fights. People complain about not getting to see more of the clone wars well here is everyones chance. Be glad that they are in this form because if the clone wars had been shown in prequel movies then they would have lacked in quality like the rest of the PT. I don't care if the clone wars on t.v. because at least I will get to see them. And since they are in 3D more is possible than with real actors, and you don't have to worry about cgi that sticks out against the the real stuff, because it will all be cgi.

Personally I hope it'll cover Grevious' rise to power. That's something that was completely left out of the story... start from the battle of Geonosis... and Grevious who he was before he became mechanical...and then cover the entire clone wars all the way to Episode III.

THat's what I'm hoping to see.

I'm also noticing that Padme didn't talk at all in the trailer. I guess they havn't casted a voice actor for her yet lol...

I do like the camera angles... very George LUcas. You can tell he was involved in at least some of those shots heh

Is it not sad that in this time, we are more surprised by acts of love than acts of hate?

Wow....

That has to be the silliest load of whatever I've seen in a long time. Long time.

I mean... there's no sense to it. None. It's just empty action shots on top of each other, and sequences which I'm sure even some Sith would consider unnatural. And on top of that, it looks like some 1990's made-for-children "learning can be fun" type computer games.

I'll avert my eyes on this one and keep my fingers crossed for the live-action show. Too bad.

Worst case scenario, it'll be fodder for fan projects.

General Grievous will have a cough. When asked whether any of Grievous’ past will be revealed, the only response is, “You’ll be happy.” Filoni also says that when it comes to big legacy characters like Grievous, Lucas is consulted directly.

From what we've seen GG acquired said cough After abducting the chancellor. Will the story go beyond the start of rots? or is Lucas goin gto revise history again?

"Lucasfilm Animation had nothing to do with some 3-D animated stills recently “leaked” on the internet. They were fan-produced."

I'd assume that could be in reference to 'tales of the new republic'- in which case they are aware of it and haven't done anything NASTY yet.

"continuity is being taken very seriously by the creators of the series"

"Lucas retains the right to make slight adjustments for the sake of the story."

It looks like it can be entertaining provided that the stories are there. In the end, while the show will have the Lucasfilm stamp, I'm sure the show's writers are SW fans so they may know what we want.

So since we see Asajj Ventress in the trailer, will they be retelling some of the Clone Wars 2-D stuff?

And also, judging from the brief glimpses in the trailer, the human characters look a little stiff.

It's...a....freaking...TEASER TRAILER. What exactly did you expect?

Haha, exactly my sentiment when I read that line.

the animation looks quite impressive, too bad it is set during the prequels.

i wish it was set during the original trilogy or later in the EU where epiosdes 7-9 would have taken place if they ever were done.

when i heard lucasfilm was setting up it's on animation studio in singapore and that george was a fan of anime i was quite excited. Because of the prospects for other animated films and tv shows.

it is kinda funny seing as george founded pixar and later sold it to steve jobs who later sold it to disney, lol

i am quite excited becuase although i was not a huge fan of the prequels i loved the clone wars comic series from dark horse written by haden blackman who also happens to be writing for this 3-D animation series.

lets just cross our fingers and hope to god jar jar's not in it.

I agree what more can be said about this time in the overall story. Sorry I just feel like the Clone wars in themselves were kind of lame in the movies the cartoon was OK, but they are surely not worthy of two TV shows about them.

It would have made much more sense to do the show about Vader's rise to power and hunting down the remaining Jedi.
