The first thing out of my buddy's mouth was firefox. But still, I'd like it to be fixed. Trying ad-aware.

<edit> ok says 52 critical objects. What does this mean? (I'm bad with pooters btw)

It means it should be cleaned. Run a virus scan as well. Failing all that, go into your Control Panel, Internet Options. Click the Programs tab, then the Manage Add-ons button. Disable everything. Then open IE and re-enable them one at a time until you find the one that's causing the problem. Then either leave it disabled or uninstall it.
