i am only a fan of his script for city on the edge of forever from star trek tos.
but since he's now a star trek basher and all around jerk i will not buy a single book he publishes, he goes to fan conventions and bad mouths roddenberry.
He also seems to have the biggest ego out of all living sci fi or SF authors.
I also think Orson Scott Card is a better writer, to each his own i suspose, lol

I've never heard him bad mouth Rodenberry, but he did know him personally, so I guess that gives him the cred at least to bad mouth him, more than someone who didn't know him.
Star Trek is worthy of bashing. The original series was fantastic, however the spin-offs blew cheese and lead to generations of people dressing like Klingons and living with their parents until they're 40.
I don't believe Ellison has an ego, just that he has a low tolerance for b.s., like fans who track down the objects of their affection in bathrooms and hound them for autographs or people who post copyrighted material on USENet, etc.
