I would link their interviews here, but the whole site is flash based and hard to link. So, I recommend ya'll go check it out, I liked what they had to say. I read on another site that Bumblebee technically never was a "VW Bug". He was a car in the likeness of a VW bug. I've got nothing to back it up, but the guy said there was never a VW symbol in the cartoon or on the toy. Apparently he was always different enough that they couldn't be sued. When they eventually did want to make an exact copy of a VW bug (with the VW logo and all) for a re-issue, VW wouldn't let them do it.
I have somewhat high hopes for the movie, if only because the transformers "sound" is in the latest trailer.
