Are there any free newsgroup sites which people have got this from? A lot seem to have alt.binaries.starwars, but i can't find this on them at all.

If somebody could give me a demonoid invite though, i'd be very thankful.

Nope, the colours on the DVD have never really bothered me - I may be in the minority, but I like the blue cast to the Tantive IV and the caves on Hoth - I think it makes the ship look less clinical and makes Hoth look less like a set.

The colours have been desaturated slightly in the desert (between the first shots of the droids and R2 in the canyon) and the brightness raised in one shot as Luke steps out to look at the sunset.

The problem with blue Hoth is that snow isn't blue.

Actually, the ice in really old icebergs and glaciers can be blue.

That being said, the snow on Hoth wasn't blue when the movies were first shown on the big screen.

Still, it does look kind of neat in a way.

Artisticly, the blue on Hoth is neat, but sense it wasn't done to be artistic (as far as I know), and it wasn't blue when it was first released I prefer the white Hoth.

Agreed with the guy above, however I was a bit upset with the yellow flashes done by the color-correction with the lightsabers. Should there be a v4 would you fix it?

The yellow flashes have always been there & it is nothing to do with the colour correction or DE. Heres a snapshot from a 1982 transfer i have

Love that screenshot! It's as though you sat directly in front of the TV screen and took a picture using a flash bulb. It reminds me of when my neighbor's dad tried to take a Polaroid of the Star Wars cast on the Donnie and Marie show. The results were about the same.

I remember thinking the flashes were new when I first saw the DVD. They just come out better on the cleaned-up print I suppose, because when I went back to my O-OT for reference, they were certainly there, but they don't assault you in the same manner.
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

Can anybody who has downloaded this do me a favor and seed?

My disc got damaged or something to make it unreadable, and am trying to re-download. Thanks!

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

9. When 3PO stands up the Sandcrawler, his eyes blink off for half second. I've fixed that.

I always thought that was intended. It sort of goes along with the whole spacetrash vibe. That is one of my favorite things about the original trilogy- that 3PO and R2 and the Falcon are all old and sort of falling apart.

Also, did you take out the horrid "lock s-foils in attack position" shot? That shot always bugged me. There was this show about the making of Star Wars that I saw and they were all talking about how the audience had to buy the opening shot. And I always bought the models, but not the CGI.

I've always wondere about that myself. Has anyone ever heard someone associated with LFL talk about whether that was intentional or not?

Does this version have the color-corrected intro with the rebels fighting on Tantive 4 ?

Nope. The next version (if there is a next version) might have some colour correction, perhaps going part-way to a colour match with the GOUT - if I can reduce the noise that will be introduced because of the too-deep blacks.

That's exactly the reason why I gave up. The histograms work nice, but the "black noise" is terrible, and if I tried to darken it, it looked better, but obviously I've lost a lot of detail in the dark areas
