I'll do what I can, obviously half of my 3072:768 (the other being used by irc file servers) isn't anything what you've got

I'll see about ESB later.

Because they all come from Europe.

As a matter of fact, almost every bootleg I've found of any movie has been PAL. Which I hate, because of teh 4% speedup. I usually deinterlace (if needed), then slow down with mencoder or avidemux2, resizing if it's vob to vob.

Is there an easier way that you know of?

That's the *only* way I know of. But I think Avidemux2 is capable of doing everything itself (PAL speedup reversal, deinterlacing - not necessary on the gkars, they're 576p not 576i - m2v/ac3 encoding - vob muxing).

Do you know of a tutorial anywhere? I need to NTSCize lots of DVD's I have...

Or I suppose I could buy an upconverting player that plays PAL discs too. That's probably easiest.

I don't

My 4-year-old Memorex player plays PAL DVDs great. (my settop recorder plays them very poorly.)

Many DVD players will convert PAL to NTSC. Especially the cheap Chinese brands.

By the way, could someone seed these please? I'm stuck at 77% and 81%, and would love to finish them. And is ROTJ going to get uploaded?

while the pal dvd prservation of the european digital satellite broadcasts are the best quality they are hardly the only ones out there. dark jedi did a set of the special edition laserdiscs from 1997 and it is ntsc.

and for those on these boards claiming he did not do the full screen/pan and scan versions from the vhs, yes he did i own them russ sent me copies years ago.

so far no one has capped the re-release of the special edition 1997 set from 2000 in japan the last release issued and yes japanese subs doh.

i have some rare pal star wars treasures i want to watch, i just need to get my hands on a pal laserdisc player.

these include the pal pan and scan uk oot, and the french coffret set from 1994 before the thx set, both of dubious quality but hey i also bought the executor vhs set so i also need a pal vhs deck, lol

don't even get me started on needing to purchase a betamax player or a ced disc player for my other star wars stuff.

i believe the TB set is from france or something not sure, i know the g'kar is from germany. the best one supposedly was from canal+, but i don't think that one is around? plus it had the canal watermarks on the screen.

i wish i could get my hands on the HD versions of the 2004 star wars trilogy, and the prequel films. or mr lucas would acutually release them on blu ray, come on george pretty please, lol

They're on Demonoid right now.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Hey Everyone.

Activity on G'Kar ESB on Demonoid seems to have petered off, so tomorrow I'll stop seeding it (there are 3 other seeders anyway) and I'll torrent RTOJ.

If anyone else wants these, but doesn't have high speed internet, PM me.

wainsco, could you seed ANH? It seems like everyone is stuck on 77.7%.

Will there be torrent of the TB-release (Scandinavian DVB)? I used to have these but I made a trade and wasn't able to copy them so I had to give away my originals... I miss having them on the shelf.

So anyone? Pretty PLZ?

I am having a problem with the ESB disc. I burned it, and can only get the German audio. The two english tracks show up, but don't have any sound. Is anyone else having this problem, or did I do something wrong?

I just checked my discs and the english is there, but when I selected english from the menu, it played german. I had to use my audio button on my remote to select english.

I will burn a copy of the torrent. It's possible that I messed up and stripped the english, but it's unlikely as my software is set to select english as the default language.

@schorman13: I can seed ANH too.

I tried switching the audio using the audio button on the remote, and the two english tracks show up, but are silent.

"software" ?
Yikes!

Using <software> is neccesary to back up an encrypted retail DVD,
but <software> isn't needed (nor desirable IMHO) for duplicating a fan-made preservation project.
Too often using <software> results in a copy that's not a clone.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

I've got the "five star" bootlegs. I believe they have the authentic 5.1 mix (not upmixed) as well as a 2.0 track. I'm out of town until 5/22, but I could put these tracks on demonoid when I return. Is anyone interested?

If the track for ANH is the true 5.1 pre 2004 mix then i would be very interested in this.
