Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

Oh man....Pokemon. 6th grade memories come rushing back to me. That was like...8 years ago though.

But seriously, I only ever played the games until shortly after there were 250ish of them. It was awesome and I won't deny it but i'd never have the time these days. How many are there these days?

Video games are something I miss having the time to just get lost in....Final Fantasy VII being the main culprit back in the day.

Hey look, a bear!

Man, I haven't played a Pokemon game since Yellow back in the day. I wanna go back and play it again, but I've got a bunch of stuff unlocked with my friend's Gameshark and it'd get erased if I started a new game (the Surfing Pikachu minigame and Mew come to mind).

I played the card game back in the day, but never got into the handheld games as I never had a gb, gba, or ds. I did however just get a ds lite and am enjoying furiously. But you are both correct, you need time for this game is great for killing it.

Also, the current number of Pokemon is 493! This was a huuge shock to me as I hadn't followed it since the original 150!

I've been considering picking up the new DS pokegames whenver I have the money but the whole 'no online play unless you have a friend code' is a major turn off.

Eh, the friend code thing is easy enough if you have friends obviously, but there are lots of ways to cruise the Web to find new codes as well.

I only ever played Yellow all the way through, and enjoyed it immensely, but I was never really motivated enough to play any of them again.

The Pokemon games are actually my favorite games, and I picked up Diamond the day it came out. I haven't had much time to play it, so I've only got 4 badges, but I really like this one. It's not as good as Ruby and Sapphire, and the game is a bit too linear this time, but it's fun and the gameplay is at its best. It seems like this series was always on the DS.

Pokemon... ahh, good times, man. 5th grade in 2000 and it was crazy! I'm only a fan of the first batch (1-151)... and find the second slew of monsters acceptable (152-251)...

but these new ugly ugly designs for the monsters (the Ruby/Sapphire/Diamond/Pearl generations) are just unimaginative and downright ugly designs! Even the whole design of the game has been made to something neo-futuristica, compared to the homey, yet, also pretty high tech and friendly older versions (Yellow, Blue, Red).

All I can say is, when the newer Pokemon games came out (sure I like them because of their game upgrades and graphic changes), I stopped. Heck, I pretty much stopped the whole Poke-craze right when it was 2001.

My point is... the quality of the game-design decreased and the visual design of these new monsters are absurd. That's my main problem.

I could go on and on and on, but I will not... mainly because I'm tired.

Don't get me wrong, I like the games... they are amazing and really addictive! But the whole marketing slew (post-2000 due to nostalgia factors) is just annoying. I'm glad it's cooled down.

I completely hear you Phillock! I got out of Pokemon sometime after the first movie, so these new Pokemon are all kinda meh to me, but every now and then something really cool will come up that makes me think, 'okay, now thats kinda neat'.

I personally am going to have a team of just 'real' Pokemon to battle with and thats the great thing about this game is that once you beat it, you can just import your old characters on over and have them join the fray.
