Hi Everyone - Assistance Required

I hope someone will be able to help with this one.

Can anyone recommend an editing program I can use?

I am shooting and putting together a Trailer for a made up film. The only problem I have is I have very little experience of editing to a decent level that would look professional.

Can anyone recommend an editing program that is fair easy to use for a "first timer". Something that I can use and learn fairly quicklyand can do things like add titles add and remove soundtracks etc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

There are plenty of "EZ-DVD" programs out there - not that I've used any. A friend of mine made a pretty decent family DVD in very short time with just such a program, titles and all. I guess it really all depends on what kind of effects you plan to put into this trailer.

Thank you MeBeJedi.....I shall investigate that one.

Effects wise I want to be able to fade in and out of different shots. Remove and replace the audio and hopefully not make it too difficult for me to do. I can see how I want it in my head just need to be able to translate that.

Thanks again for your help.

Oops, sorry ....I just made up that name as an example. What I meant was that there are many good entry-level programs that can accomplish quite a bit. I got started with the basic DVD program that came with my burner. It worked well, but due to its limitations (you had to upgrade for the ability to have an introductory video before the main menu, it would only create MPEG audio, no end commands), I found myself looking for more advanced programs.

I have done a bit of searching around and having a look at whats out there.

So far I have found 2 that im going to try. They are..........

Ulead VideoStudio & Cyberlink PowerDirector.

The descriptions made them sound ok and too complicated. Has anyone here used either of these 2? If so are they any good?

Thanks
