If anyone has the torrent completely downloaded of this, would they mind seeding it? It's currently crawling along at a snail's pace

That's because all of the downloaders and two of the five seeders are portless

If you have a router, go to portforward com and it'll get you straightened out.

If you don't have a listening port number listed in MySpleens "Port" column, then you wont be able to send or recieve a significant amount from anyone else who is portless. You'll also have problems connecting in general.

If you fix it, you'll be connected to 'most everyone & see some nice speed.

Pet peeve of mine. I PM'd some folks, including one in that torrent. Some said they'd fix it. One did. The rest are screwed (unless they have an insanly high upload speed and they pick torrents with few portless people).

But don't worry, I'll throw a few kBs at it later this evening. I may or may not be able to connect to you.

Dang dude! That was quick!

And you've got a port.

Welcome to OriginalTrilogy!

And welcome to MySpleen!

I'm "JSudonim", there, I'm throwing another 5 kBs at you guys. I'm trying to leech another torrent & seed a couple of others, or I'd put you on the fast track.

I see you're starting from scratch. If your new client couldn't load the torrent "pieces" that you'd already saved, try reopening it in the old client and using "finish allocation". That (I believe) would pad out the empty spaces & put the pieces in order. Then the new client should be able to read what you've already downloaded. Well, unless your new client already overwrote it...

On second glance, I see that MySpleen says you've been on there for about a day.

So, actually, you were doing pretty good to have 42% of that (small) torrent in a day or so. There were a couple of months, there, when it was usually just me seeding, and I was spread pretty thin.

Standard advice: You should go into your profile, here, and turn on your PM's. The PM's are off, by default, for some reason.

How would I finish allocation from utorrent?

edit: and ironically, my old client is contributing to a way faster download, with the pieces it has uploading.

I'm not really sure, I assumed it was a standard command. I've only used uTorrent to send a file to a guy with DHT... I don't see it in their faq.

Right-click the folder, and select properties. If it says "1.60GB (1,726,955,520) bytes...", then it's already allocated out.

If the files, inside the old folder, end with !ut, then rename them to get rid of that. (Right-click & properties again, if it doesn't show up in the folder). You can make a batch file to do it - make a text file, and put:
REN *.!ut *
Hit enter, save it as "re.bat". Double-click the bat & it'll rename them.

PM me here or at MySpleen (JSudonim) if you hit any snags. (I prefer MySpleen, because my PM fills up too fast, here).

LOL! I'll say. Well, it has a port, now, so why not try finishing with your old client? It's confusing seeing 2 or 3 of you.

Well the old client's dling at 8 kbs, the new one at 90, but without the old one running the new one slows to a crawl.

edit: Yes I might, the folder reads full, but the new client doesn'tt read the old data: edit: because they're not saved to the same location, d'oh.

It just occured to me - you might be uploading to yourself! Ahahahahah! I wonder what that'll do to your ratio?

edit: Yes I might, the folder reads full, but the new client doesn'tt read the old data.

Oh well, why mess with success? Its working, just let it run that way, I guess.

This is like a live chat!

We're editing and I'm not sure if we're replying to the edits...

This is all too much for my old brain.

Torrents are slow things. If you're used to Usenet, you'll probably never see that kind of speed in a torrent.

I'm sending 5 kBs, and I can't push any more until I finish Alien Redux. It's been saying a little over 2 hours for about 2 hours. I have to keep seeding it until I'm 1:1, but I have to give it a lot to get fast, right now.

I got your PM, we'll continue there.

Wonderful job on this edit. It really does show there was a good story hidden among the silliness that permeated the movie. At first the original series music seemed to stand out too much to me, but watching a second time it all just felt right. I think the first viewing my mind is just too busy looking for the changes rather than just watching and enjoying.

My wife actually sat down while I was watching and really enjoyed it too. She's not a ST movie fan, but likes the original tv series. She loved hearing the original music, and the structure of the acts with the fades for commercial.

If I were to ask anything, is how about ST: The Motion Pic. Another one I like, but just feels so stretched out. If cut down to under an hour it might actually be exciting.

Great work,

Dave

Weird. It wasn't in the torrent, originally??? Was there a DVD-Rom folder at all? Mabye I could zip up the folder and put it on one of those file sites, if there's folks who need it.

If anyone, without Usenet, wants "In Thy Image" or "Blax25, Where No Man Has Gone Before" from da Spleen, now's the time to jump in. I'm giving them a whopping 12 kBs each, for a bud'. Limited time offer. Void where prohibited.

And I think I'll repost them to Usenet, once again, pretty soon.

Star Trek 5: "The Enhanced Re-Edit" is certainly an ambitious project, but I doubt it will ever come to fruition.

I beg to differ!!!!!!!!!

Wow! It's been a while since I've been to the site, I didn't recognise the handle of your partner, Phineasbg.

What stage is it at?

The new special effects are very needed, and so are the v2 trims & v3 edits.

Glad to hear it's still cooking, I gotta see this!

Not a problem! I should not have been so vague, my bad!

Answers-

I am involved very little, if any in this project, it was started well before PhineasBg and I hooked up.

I have been shown some new effects, and I can tell you I am in awe!!!

It's an on going project I am told.

I may have some say in the editing, I don;t know at this point, we are still discussing it.

Thats about all I know!!

Peace
