Oh, this too sweet. Thanks, GoodMusician! The Ep. III music could really come in handy for my movie edit. Though I do media for work, I must admit my ignorance of so many things on the technology side.

Can someone explain the .rar download extensions? The difference between MP3 and FLAC? And how I can use the FLAC versions?

.rar is like .zip except a more commonly used one these days.

Just download winrar

Lossless mp3's are not truly lossless and are still ok in quality but they're ok.

FLAC is like wav but different format that makes it a smaller file. You have to download the update to winamp so that FLAC will play.

As for updated, I've been busy with some things, but things are comming along.

Hey all... so I have an update.

I recently bought a new program to edit my videos and such and I found out it has a pretty nice sound editing function as well... so I've been using it on the set and holy crap, its some amazing stuff...

I'm really happy with it.

It did mean, however, that I had to go back and re-do the tracks I'd already done (oh noes lol). So I thought I'd let you all know that I'm still working and that it should be really good once finished.

FLAC is a lossless compressed WAV. So unlike mp3, there's no quality loss. WAV is fully uncompressed. You should be able to decompress the FLAC files to WAV files and then burn those on a CD as an Audio CD. Again, the advantage is that you don't lose any quality. If you did that with mp3, you'd end up with missing information since mp3 throws away information in order to get a smaller file size.

rar is commonly used in newsgroups since you can split a large file into multiple rar files (that's really what rar's claim to fame is). Other than that, zip is still the dominant form of compression.

Good News everyone! (No this isn't futurama) lol

Well, as I think I mentioned, I got a new program to edit video and audio and make dvd's and such. We'll, I was playing with it and found out I could use it to clean audio... and being far more up to date--let alone 5 times the price--I was able to use it with amazing results.

What's the name of the other Max Rebo Band source music. The one you hear aboard the Sail Barge?

All I've ever heard it called was Max Rebo Band Music...

it's on disc 3 because there is no clean release of it... the best I could do was a pretty low quality DVD rip of the rear channel... so I stuck it on as an extra...

and the set is done btw... it's on the index if people would like to hear it.

I was gonna put up some flac versions, but I wasn't sure there was a demand. I guess I'll do that.

And yea, try refreshing it and maybe cleaning the cookies if you have a problem. It should be the same address though...

Though I don't understand why after all you're hard work you'd think we'd prefer to listen to crappy mp3's when we could hear everything as it was meant to be. (Hope that doesn't sound ungrateful.)

I just havn't had the time to upload the flac's. They are practically wav files so it takes a while to upload them...

but yea... I'm gonna see about getting them up within the next few days. My life has been really hectic. My stepfather was in the hospital, has neuorsurgery, my brother broke his leg. My mother and I have been taking care of them. The didn't think my stepfather would walk again...and my brother can't walk ebcause of the cast thing... so it's been a little crazy...

Not to mention I have a friend suppose to come into todnw so I'm getting ready for that! lol

I'll try to get it up as soon as I can.
