I think I'd do my best to just ignore them. I'd try to convince my family to do the same. Maybe even drop some hints to the media during interviews or something.

Speaking of media and interviews, apparently the students are sick of the media and are giving them the cold shoulder when asked about the guy and the shooting. Good on them I say.
