Having watched a second time, I think both the busyness and the TIEs on the readouts both look great and are appropriate. What I always hoped to see more of is the stuff that I always loved from RotJ, and that's the external shots of the ships swooping around firing at each other, and that's something that does come across as a bit lacking now, purely I think because modern audiences expect that sort of thing.

Incidentally, on the shot where Han says "we're coming up on their sentry ships", it might be nice to see a star destroyer off in the background - those TIEs otherwise seem to come from nowhere.

If I were doing this scene again (and I'm not), I'd be tempted to draw out the battle a little longer and make it look as if the Falcon is taking heavier damage - maybe it's just me but there's no real sense of "threat" in this scene now (nor was there before). It would be nice to see some new ext. shots of the Falcon getting shot at and those shots doing some real damage (little explosions coming off the points where they hit, others getting absorbed the shield, adding some camera-rocking effects into some of the internal shots). Like I say, I'm not doing this scene, and I think the improvements that you've made, adywan, are immeasurable.
