Why could Serenity be seen as conservative lordjedi? And do you think of X-men as conservative? I'm having a hard time comparing movies to political views. I never watch them in that way, searching for a political message. Especially sci-fi. Although Equilibrium got me thinking about government control a bit.

The Patriot Act did nothing but spell out what could and was already done in certain circumstances. Try reading it sometime and then look at what was done before it. Nothing in the Patriot Act was new. And if you still don't like it, remember that only 1 Senator had the guts to vote no on it. So everyone in DC is at fault as far as I'm concerned.
