Yes, I know ... and I also know that many Trekkies think of the DE as a big improvement. I never intented to criticise you or your work. In fact, the new FX really do look great and have been incorporated very carefully. If I hadn't known the original, I would have never guessed that there are any new FX at all!

It's just that I don't think that a movie should be fixed such a long time after it's release. If it's one year later, ok ... but after 20 years I think it should be left alone as a piece of art that maybe had never been finished and is far from being perfect, but sometimes that's just the way it is. That's how I see it, anyway ... to each his own, I guess.

I only wish that the theatrical and the special longer version had also been released on DVD. All the bits and pieces are on the DE DVD, so surely all the source material necessary has been cleaned up and remastered. I think it would sell quite well ... Trekkies are completists, so there would definitely be a demand for it. Maybe you can pass that on to Paramount or whoever is currently in charge of the Star Trek DVDs ...
