Pearl Harbor
Independance Day


Pearl Harbor is pretty much neutral. It's just a love story set in the context of that War.

Independence Day has some conservative themes (fight to kill your enemies, don't show them kindness once they've proven hostile) and some traditionally liberal ones (the idea that America needs its enemies to help fight the alien threat, for example). Overall I'd say it's more patriotic than overtly political.


I remember people commenting on this one when it was theaters that people cheered when the White House was blown up, but they also cheered when the aliens were defeated, kind of reflected the attitude of the people then. They were aggravated with the President, but still proud of their country.
