No, because the PT was screwed up; just rely on the OOT for canonicity

No, you just have to look past all the garbage that is present in the PT, and ignore the contuity errors.

Yeah, the HS is pretty good too. You just have to look past all the crappy writting, acting, production, costumes, characters, effects, etc.

Yes. I also totally disregard the Jedi Knights guarding the Republic for "a thousand generations," since the Republic itself is only a thousand years old. I disregard Anakin being the best starpilot in the galaxy, since he was actually a race car driver who grew up to be a sword-fighter and only occasionally flew spaceships. I disregard Ben Kenobi serving Leia's father in the Clone Wars, since Kenobi actually took his orders from the Jedi Council, not the Alderaanian senator. I disregard Leia's memories of her mother, since her mother clearly died within minutes or seconds of Leia's birth. I disregard Luke's belief that there is good in Vader, or Vader's admission that Luke was right, because the good in Anakin clearly died when he was a young man, since that young man's ghost returns after Vader dies.

Oh, wait. Those are things that I consider compelling story points. Those other things are the things I disregard.

Obiwan and Anakin were friends in the PT? I must have missed that scene! I guess Lucas justifies that plot point that Old Obiwan just lied again to Luke.

It's too bad that George didn't commission a Star Warsy, or whatever you call star wars fanatics, to go over the scripts to look for inconsisticies. I think Parmount does that with it's Star Trek projects. I think George could of found a way to have Padme die a bit later, maybe just have a text on the screen 2 - years later. Or something. Anakins reaction still could of been just as strong maybe.

And because of the snafus we now have to disregard plot point from the OT. Seriously, are we now accepting the PT as the basis for all SW canon!?

i follow what's it the return of the jedi novelization that makes reference to the original prequel outline.

Ben served Bail during the Clone Wars, he was owens brother and took Leia to live on alderaan, and then luke to tatooine.

it also makes reference very vaguely to Leia's real mother possibly being around during her early childhood.

there is a scene on Dagobah where Kenobi takes personal reponsibility for anakin's fall, via his ghost self. He never seems to take repponsibility in the movie, in fact he completely glosses over the fact that both he and yoda lied to Luke, had him trained and raised to believe he was to be the one to kill his fathers killer, not his own father.

That his father was a hero, a champion of justice and a good man and friend, not a butcher of younglings and the killer of his own wife.

Both Boba Fett and Han Solo were to appear in the original third prequel. Fett with the mandalorian hunters helped vader track down and destroy the jedi knights, and Han Solo would have been nothing more than a boy, or orphen on Corellia. Not like in the earlier revenge of the Sith drafts where he was raised as a surrogate brother to Chewbacca, and chewies family as his only known family.

There are several points that i totally disregard in the prequels, though you guys know these are just movies and not real life i'm not such a dork that i lose sleep over the incontinuity between the two trilogies.

If i really gave a damn anymore like i did as a teenager where lucas was going to take the series i would say.

1. No damn Midiclorians or how ever it is spelt.
2. NO friggin Jango Fett
3.NO darth maul he was only created spur of the moment the only sith lords should be the emperor and vader.
4. no count dooku or draku
5. no demodians
6. no gungans and especially no jar jar binks
7. no starting with anakin as a little kid
8. no poop or fart jokes
9. everything as real as possible like the old movies no fake Cgi.
10. no special editions of the oot that competely alter characters or storylines like the 1997 and 2004.
11. he should have started with the sequel trilogy with Han, Luke and Leia and then went back to do the prequels, but that would have required him to return and not have a 22 year hiatus.
12. vader's wife dies much later during leia's early childhood, not dying in labor because of a broken heart. What a lame way to go out for a supposedly strong female character who was the inspiration for leia.

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

Yeah, I think somebody said on this forum one time that Padme should have escaped and hidden on Alderaan visiting and tending to Leia under the pretense of a nanny. Eventually, Padme was hunted down and killed by agents of the Emporer, without Vader so much as knowing, so as to prevent her return and instigate a redemption of Vader. Leia's memories would have been thusly justified Leia's memories line by being told by Bail and his wife that the woman who tended to her exclusively when she was very young was her mother. I forget who wrote that, but I thought it was so much better than how Lucas did it, lost the will to live, stupid. As far as, Obi-Wan and Anakin, I can't disregard that becuase according to SW '77, they were friends.
