Help: looking for... Ripped 2006 GOUT Subtitles?

 (Edited)

Does anyone here have an accurate and complete rip of the subtitles for the 2006 OUT trilogy (NTSC)? I have been having a terrible time extracting these. When running what I have been able to extract through an OCR, it cannot match characters because the subtitles seem to have been partially interlaced. And because of this, some lines of subtitles end up being just unrecognizable globs of pixels.

I found subtitles allegedly for the OUT on opensubtitles.org (and they seem correct, no typo’s), but by the end of the movie the subs are off by nearly a minute.

At the very least, is there a way to “stretch” subtitles (i.e. automatically edit/adjust the timecode) by setting the appropriate times for the first and last subtitles, and then having the ones in the middle displace themselves appopriately to match?

I don’t know what experiences other people have had with subtitles, but these things are a pain (for me at least). However, I still would really like to have the isolated subtitle tracks to use. Does anyone here have a large collection of the subtitle tracks for the Star Wars Trilogy, SE included? Making these more available could make a lot of people’s lives easier, I think.

1
00:02:41,396 --> 00:02:43,307
Did you hear that?

2
00:02:43,396 --> 00:02:46,069
They shut down the main reactor.
We'll be destroyed for sure.

3
00:02:46,156 --> 00:02:47,635
This is madness.

4
00:02:57,276 --> 00:02:58,675
We're doomed.

5
00:03:00,956 --> 00:03:03,106
There'll be no escape
for the princess this time.

6
00:03:06,316 --> 00:03:07,715
What's that?

7
00:04:45,836 --> 00:04:48,225
R2-D2, where are you?

8
00:05:04,116 --> 00:05:06,471
At last.
Where have you been?

9
00:05:06,556 --> 00:05:09,548
They're heading in this direction.
What are we going to do?

10
00:05:09,636 --> 00:05:12,992
We'll be sent to the Kessel spice mines
or smashed into who knows what.

11
00:05:14,076 --> 00:05:15,987
Wait a minute.
Where are you going?

12
00:05:28,116 --> 00:05:30,994
The Death Star plans
are not in the main computer.

13
00:05:31,676 --> 00:05:33,632
Where are those transmissions
you intercepted?

14
00:05:33,716 --> 00:05:36,435
What have you done
with those plans?

15
00:05:36,516 --> 00:05:38,427
We intercepted no transmissions.

16
00:05:39,356 --> 00:05:43,190
This is a consular ship.
We're on a diplomatic mission.

17
00:05:43,276 --> 00:05:47,667
If this is a consular ship,
where is the ambassador?

18
00:05:50,996 --> 00:05:54,386
Commander, tear this ship apart
until you've found those plans!

19
00:05:54,476 --> 00:05:57,274
And bring me the passengers!
I want them alive!

20
00:06:09,276 --> 00:06:10,755
There's one.
Set for stun.

21
00:06:16,236 --> 00:06:17,828
She'll be all right.

22
00:06:17,916 --> 00:06:19,747
Inform Lord Vader we have a prisoner.

23
00:06:21,276 --> 00:06:23,665
Hey. You're not permitted in there.
It's restricted.

24
00:06:23,756 --> 00:06:25,633
You'll be deactivated for sure.

25
00:06:27,516 --> 00:06:30,030
Don't call me a mindless philosopher,
you overweight glob of grease.

26
00:06:30,116 --> 00:06:31,708
Come out,
before somebody sees you.

27
00:06:33,996 --> 00:06:36,112
Secret mission? What plans?

28
00:06:36,196 --> 00:06:38,664
What are you talking about?
I'm not getting in there.

29
00:06:41,916 --> 00:06:44,066
I'm going to regret this.

30
00:06:50,916 --> 00:06:54,113
- There goes another one.
- Hold your fire. There's no life forms.

31
00:06:54,196 --> 00:06:55,470
It must have short-circuited.

32
00:06:55,556 --> 00:06:58,753
That's funny. The damage
doesn't look as bad from out here.

33
00:07:00,996 --> 00:07:02,907
Are you sure this thing is safe?

34
00:07:21,076 --> 00:07:23,465
Darth Vader.
Only you could be so bold.

35
00:07:23,556 --> 00:07:25,865
The Imperial Senate will not
sit still for this.

36
00:07:25,956 --> 00:07:29,107
- You've attacked a diplomatic--
- Don't act so surprised, Your Highness.

37
00:07:29,196 --> 00:07:31,027
You weren't on
any mercy mission this time.

38
00:07:31,116 --> 00:07:35,075
Several transmissions
were beamed to this ship by rebel spies.

39
00:07:35,156 --> 00:07:37,909
I want to know what happened
to the plans they sent you.

40
00:07:37,996 --> 00:07:39,952
I don't know what
you're talking about.

41
00:07:40,036 --> 00:07:42,914
I'm a member of the Imperial Senate
on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan.

42
00:07:42,996 --> 00:07:45,749
You are part of the Rebel Alliance
and a traitor.

43
00:07:45,836 --> 00:07:47,713
Take her away!

44
00:07:51,876 --> 00:07:54,231
Holding her is dangerous.
If word gets out...

45
00:07:54,316 --> 00:07:56,784
it could generate sympathy
for the rebellion in the senate.

46
00:07:56,876 --> 00:07:59,151
I have traced the rebel spies to her.

47
00:07:59,236 --> 00:08:01,830
Now she is my only link
to finding their secret base.

48
00:08:01,916 --> 00:08:03,747
She'll die before
she'll tell you anything.

49
00:08:03,836 --> 00:08:05,428
Leave that to me.

50
00:08:05,516 --> 00:08:08,872
Send a distress signal, and then inform
the senate that all aboard were killed.

51
00:08:08,956 --> 00:08:11,948
Lord Vader, the battle station plans
are not aboard this ship...

52
00:08:12,036 --> 00:08:13,435
and no transmissions were made.

53
00:08:13,516 --> 00:08:17,555
An escape pod was jettisoned during the
fighting, but no life forms were aboard.

54
00:08:17,636 --> 00:08:20,514
She must have hidden
the plans in the escape pod.

55
00:08:20,596 --> 00:08:24,032
Send a detachment down to retrieve them.
See to it personally, Commander.

56
00:08:24,116 --> 00:08:26,107
There'll be no one
to stop us this time.

57
00:08:26,196 --> 00:08:27,675
Yes, sir.

58
00:08:41,636 --> 00:08:43,627
How did we get into this mess?

59
00:08:43,716 --> 00:08:45,991
I really don't know how.

60
00:08:46,676 --> 00:08:49,793
We seem to be made to suffer.
It's our lot in life.

61
00:08:52,276 --> 00:08:55,746
I've got to rest before I fall apart.
My joints are almost frozen.

62
00:09:02,476 --> 00:09:04,432
What a desolate place this is.

63
00:09:08,556 --> 00:09:10,467
Where do you think you're going?

64
00:09:10,556 --> 00:09:14,026
Well, I'm not going that way.
It's much too rocky.

65
00:09:14,676 --> 00:09:16,507
This way is much easier.

66
00:09:16,596 --> 00:09:18,905
What makes you think
there are settlements over there?

67
00:09:20,596 --> 00:09:22,234
Don't get technical with me.

68
00:09:23,516 --> 00:09:25,472
What mission?
What are you talking about?

69
00:09:27,276 --> 00:09:29,710
I've just about had enough of you.

70
00:09:30,396 --> 00:09:31,670
Go that way.

71
00:09:31,756 --> 00:09:34,589
You'll be malfunctioning within a day,
you nearsighted scrap pile.

72
00:09:35,276 --> 00:09:37,744
And don't let me catch you
following me, begging for help...

73
00:09:37,836 --> 00:09:39,906
because you won't get it.

74
00:09:52,516 --> 00:09:54,154
No more adventures.

75
00:09:54,236 --> 00:09:56,147
I'm not going that way.

76
00:10:28,676 --> 00:10:31,509
That malfunctioning little twerp.
This is all his fault.

77
00:10:32,516 --> 00:10:34,632
He tricked me
into going this way...

78
00:10:34,716 --> 00:10:36,547
but he'll do no better.

79
00:10:39,676 --> 00:10:41,712
Wait. What's that?

80
00:10:41,796 --> 00:10:44,435
A transport. I'm saved.

81
00:10:44,516 --> 00:10:46,188
Over here!

82
00:10:46,276 --> 00:10:47,345
Hey!

83
00:10:47,436 --> 00:10:48,789
Hey!

84
00:10:48,876 --> 00:10:52,186
Help! Please help!

85
00:14:13,276 --> 00:14:14,186
R2?

86
00:14:18,276 --> 00:14:21,712
R2-D2, it is you! It is you!

87
00:14:38,836 --> 00:14:41,908
Someone was in the pod.
The tracks go off in this direction.

88
00:14:42,876 --> 00:14:44,753
Look, sir. Droids.

89
00:14:56,076 --> 00:14:57,748
Wake up. Wake up!

90
00:15:04,436 --> 00:15:05,994
We're doomed.

91
00:15:13,836 --> 00:15:15,906
Do you think
they'll melt us down?

92
00:15:28,116 --> 00:15:30,152
Don't shoot.
Don't shoot.

93
00:15:30,236 --> 00:15:32,386
Will this never end?

94
00:16:10,356 --> 00:16:12,824
- Fine. Let's go.
- Luke!

95
00:16:12,916 --> 00:16:14,349
Luke!

96
00:16:17,636 --> 00:16:22,505
Luke, tell Uncle if he gets
a translator, be sure it speaks Bocce.

97
00:16:22,596 --> 00:16:24,985
Doesn't look like we have
much choice, but I'll remind him.

98
00:16:35,676 --> 00:16:37,792
Yeah, we'll take that red one.

99
00:16:37,876 --> 00:16:39,753
No, not that one.

100
00:16:41,356 --> 00:16:44,314
I suppose you're programmed
for etiquette and protocol.

101
00:16:44,396 --> 00:16:48,230
Protocol? It's my primary function, sir.
I am well-versed in all the customs--

102
00:16:48,316 --> 00:16:51,513
- I have no need for a protocol droid.
- Of course you haven't, sir.

103
00:16:51,596 --> 00:16:54,235
Not in an environment such as this.
That's why I have been programmed--

104
00:16:54,316 --> 00:16:58,195
I need a droid who understands the
binary language of moisture vaporators.

105
00:16:58,276 --> 00:17:01,427
Vaporators? Sir, my first job
was programming binary load lifters...

106
00:17:01,516 --> 00:17:03,586
very similar to your vaporators
in most respects.

107
00:17:03,676 --> 00:17:07,066
-Can you speak Bocce?
-Of course. It's like a second language.

108
00:17:07,156 --> 00:17:09,750
-All right. Shut up. I'll take this one.
-Shutting up, sir.

109
00:17:12,596 --> 00:17:15,190
Take these two to the garage.
I want them cleaned up before dinner.

110
00:17:15,276 --> 00:17:18,109
But I was going into Tosche Station
to pick up some power converters.

111
00:17:18,196 --> 00:17:21,108
You can waste time with your friends
when your chores are done.

112
00:17:21,196 --> 00:17:23,107
Now come on.
Get to it.

113
00:17:24,116 --> 00:17:25,265
All right. Come on.

114
00:17:27,876 --> 00:17:29,992
And the red one.
Come on.

115
00:17:30,956 --> 00:17:33,390
Come on, red. Let's go.

116
00:17:51,436 --> 00:17:53,506
- Uncle Owen.
- Yeah?

117
00:17:53,596 --> 00:17:56,235
This R2 unit has
a bad motivator. Look.

118
00:17:56,316 --> 00:17:58,625
Hey, what are you
trying to push on us?

119
00:18:01,516 --> 00:18:06,271
Excuse me, sir, but that R2 unit
is in prime condition, a real bargain.

120
00:18:06,356 --> 00:18:08,187
Uncle Owen,
what about that one?

121
00:18:08,276 --> 00:18:10,790
What about that blue one?
We'll take that one.

122
00:18:11,996 --> 00:18:14,749
- Take this away.
- You'll be pleased with that one, sir.

123
00:18:14,836 --> 00:18:16,667
He really is in first-class condition.

124
00:18:16,756 --> 00:18:18,667
I've worked with him before.
Here he comes.

125
00:18:22,716 --> 00:18:24,149
Let's go.

126
00:18:24,236 --> 00:18:25,828
Don't you forget this.

127
00:18:25,916 --> 00:18:29,272
Why I should stick my neck out for you
is quite beyond my capacity.

128
00:18:35,516 --> 00:18:38,633
Thank the maker.
This oil bath is going to feel so good.

129
00:18:40,076 --> 00:18:43,512
I've got such a bad case of dust
contamination I can barely move.

130
00:18:43,596 --> 00:18:45,507
It just isn't fair.

131
00:18:45,596 --> 00:18:47,905
Biggs is right.
I'm never gonna get out of here.

132
00:18:48,556 --> 00:18:50,387
Is there anything
I might do to help?

133
00:18:50,476 --> 00:18:53,548
No, not unless you can alter time,
speed up the harvest...

134
00:18:53,636 --> 00:18:55,228
or teleport me off this rock.

135
00:18:55,316 --> 00:18:56,829
I don't think so, sir.

136
00:18:56,916 --> 00:19:00,386
I'm only a droid and not very
knowledgeable about such things.

137
00:19:00,476 --> 00:19:01,750
Not on this planet, anyway.

138
00:19:01,836 --> 00:19:05,112
As a matter of fact,
I'm not even sure which planet I'm on.

139
00:19:05,196 --> 00:19:07,471
Well, if there's a bright centre
to the universe...

140
00:19:07,556 --> 00:19:09,467
you're on the planet
that it's farthest from.

141
00:19:09,556 --> 00:19:11,433
I see, sir.

142
00:19:12,076 --> 00:19:14,385
- You can call me Luke.
- I see, Sir Luke.

143
00:19:15,756 --> 00:19:17,155
Just Luke.

144
00:19:17,796 --> 00:19:20,833
And I am C-3PO,
human-cyborg relations.

145
00:19:20,916 --> 00:19:23,476
This is my counterpart, R2-D2.

146
00:19:23,556 --> 00:19:24,989
Hello.

147
00:19:26,156 --> 00:19:29,466
A lot of carbon scoring here.
Looks like you've seen a lot of action.

148
00:19:29,556 --> 00:19:32,946
With all we've been through, I'm amazed
we're in as good condition as we are...

149
00:19:33,036 --> 00:19:34,628
with the rebellion and all.

150
00:19:34,716 --> 00:19:36,593
You know of the rebellion
against the Empire?

151
00:19:36,676 --> 00:19:39,952
That's how we came to be in your
service, if you take my meaning, sir.

152
00:19:40,036 --> 00:19:42,266
- Have you been in many battles?
- Several, I think.

153
00:19:42,356 --> 00:19:44,187
There's not much to tell.

154
00:19:44,276 --> 00:19:47,712
I'm not much more than an interpreter
and not very good at telling stories.

155
00:19:47,796 --> 00:19:50,230
Well, not at making them
interesting, anyway.

156
00:19:50,916 --> 00:19:52,747
Well, my little friend...

157
00:19:52,836 --> 00:19:55,066
you got something jammed
in here real good.

158
00:19:55,156 --> 00:19:57,067
Were you on a Starcruiser or--

159
00:19:57,156 --> 00:20:00,114
<i>Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.</i>
<i>You're my only hope.</i>

160
00:20:00,196 --> 00:20:01,754
What's this?

161
00:20:01,836 --> 00:20:04,828
"What is what'?
He asked you a question. What is that?

162
00:20:04,916 --> 00:20:08,704
<i>Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.</i>
<i>You're my only hope.</i>

163
00:20:11,996 --> 00:20:15,750
<i>Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.</i>
<i>You're my only hope.</i>

164
00:20:17,796 --> 00:20:20,549
He says it's nothing, sir,
merely a malfunction.

165
00:20:20,636 --> 00:20:22,388
Old data. Pay it no mind.

166
00:20:22,476 --> 00:20:24,467
Who is she?
She's beautiful.

167
00:20:24,556 --> 00:20:27,787
I'm afraid I'm not quite sure, sir.

168
00:20:27,876 --> 00:20:29,946
I think she was a passenger
on our last voyage.

169
00:20:30,036 --> 00:20:31,947
A person of some importance,
I believe.

170
00:20:32,036 --> 00:20:34,345
- Our captain was--
- Is there any more to this recording?

171
00:20:36,276 --> 00:20:39,473
Behave yourself, R2.
You're going to get us into trouble.

172
00:20:39,556 --> 00:20:42,229
It's all right. You can trust him.
He's our new master.

173
00:20:42,316 --> 00:20:43,908
<i>You're my only hope.</i>

174
00:20:44,876 --> 00:20:49,666
He says he's the property of Obi-Wan
Kenobi, a resident of these parts...

175
00:20:49,756 --> 00:20:51,474
and it's a private message for him.

176
00:20:51,556 --> 00:20:53,512
Frankly, I don't know
what he's talking about.

177
00:20:53,596 --> 00:20:55,507
Our last master
was Captain Antilles.

178
00:20:55,596 --> 00:21:00,067
But with all we've been through,
this R2 unit has become a bit eccentric.

179
00:21:00,156 --> 00:21:03,193
Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I wonder if he means old Ben Kenobi.

180
00:21:03,276 --> 00:21:05,836
I beg your pardon, sir, but do you
know what he's talking about?

181
00:21:05,916 --> 00:21:08,271
I don't know anyone
named Obi-Wan...

182
00:21:09,036 --> 00:21:11,106
but old Ben lives
out beyond the Dune Sea.

183
00:21:11,196 --> 00:21:12,914
He's kind of a strange old hermit.

184
00:21:14,076 --> 00:21:15,907
I wonder who she is.

185
00:21:15,996 --> 00:21:19,386
Sounds like she's in trouble.
I better play back the whole thing.

186
00:21:22,356 --> 00:21:25,553
He says the restraining bolt has
short-circuited his recording system.

187
00:21:25,636 --> 00:21:28,355
He suggests that
if you remove the bolt...

188
00:21:28,436 --> 00:21:31,075
he might be able to play back
the entire recording.

189
00:21:31,156 --> 00:21:33,192
Oh, yeah. Well...

190
00:21:33,276 --> 00:21:36,632
I guess you're too small
to run away on me if I take this off.

191
00:21:36,716 --> 00:21:37,865
Okay.

192
00:21:40,636 --> 00:21:42,194
There you go.

193
00:21:43,676 --> 00:21:46,668
Where'd she go? Bring her back.
Play back the entire message.

194
00:21:47,316 --> 00:21:48,908
"What message'?

195
00:21:48,996 --> 00:21:50,873
The one you've just been playing.

196
00:21:50,956 --> 00:21:52,947
The one you're carrying
inside your rusty innards.

197
00:21:53,036 --> 00:21:54,708
Luke! Luke!

198
00:21:54,796 --> 00:21:57,230
I'll be right there, Aunt Beru.

199
00:21:57,316 --> 00:22:00,035
I'm sorry, sir, but he appears to have
picked up a slight flutter.

200
00:22:00,116 --> 00:22:03,392
Here. See what you can do with him.
I'll be right back.

201
00:22:05,996 --> 00:22:08,715
Just you reconsider
playing that message for him.

202
00:22:09,796 --> 00:22:12,071
No, I don't think
he likes you at all.

203
00:22:12,156 --> 00:22:14,431
No, I don't like you either.

204
00:22:22,836 --> 00:22:26,511
- That R2 unit might have been stolen.
- What makes you think that?

205
00:22:26,596 --> 00:22:29,429
I stumbled across a recording
while I was cleaning him.

206
00:22:29,516 --> 00:22:31,871
He says he belongs to someone
called Obi-Wan Kenobi.

207
00:22:34,156 --> 00:22:37,546
I thought he might have meant old Ben.
Do you know what he's talking about?

208
00:22:39,556 --> 00:22:41,672
I wonder if he's related to Ben.

209
00:22:41,756 --> 00:22:43,474
That wizard's just a crazy old man.

210
00:22:44,956 --> 00:22:48,392
Tomorrow, take that R2 unit to
Anchorhead and have its memory erased.

211
00:22:48,476 --> 00:22:50,353
That'll be the end of it.
It belongs to us now.

212
00:22:51,996 --> 00:22:54,556
But what if this Obi-Wan
comes looking for him?

213
00:22:54,636 --> 00:22:55,671
He won't.

214
00:22:56,996 --> 00:23:00,466
I don't think he exists any more. He died
about the same time as your father.

215
00:23:00,556 --> 00:23:03,514
- He knew my father?
- I told you to forget it.

216
00:23:04,636 --> 00:23:07,514
Your only concern is to prepare
those new droids for tomorrow.

217
00:23:08,156 --> 00:23:11,387
In the morning, I want them on the
south ridge working on those condensers.

218
00:23:12,036 --> 00:23:13,469
Yes, sir.

219
00:23:14,556 --> 00:23:17,150
I think those new droids
are gonna work out fine.

220
00:23:17,236 --> 00:23:20,467
In fact, I was also thinking
about our agreement--

221
00:23:20,556 --> 00:23:22,672
about me staying on
another season.

222
00:23:24,556 --> 00:23:27,707
If these new droids work out, I want
to apply to the academy this year.

223
00:23:28,636 --> 00:23:30,467
You mean the next semester
before the harvest?

224
00:23:30,556 --> 00:23:32,308
Sure. There's more
than enough droids.

225
00:23:32,396 --> 00:23:34,352
Harvest is when I need you the most.

226
00:23:34,436 --> 00:23:36,392
It's only one season more.

227
00:23:36,476 --> 00:23:39,513
This year we'll make enough
on the harvest to hire more hands...

228
00:23:39,596 --> 00:23:41,746
and then you can go
to the academy next year.

229
00:23:42,676 --> 00:23:44,632
You must understand
I need you here, Luke.

230
00:23:44,716 --> 00:23:47,514
- But it's a whole 'nother year.
- It's only one more season.

231
00:23:47,596 --> 00:23:49,587
That's what you said
when Biggs and Tank left.

232
00:23:49,676 --> 00:23:52,065
- Where are you going?
- Looks like I'm going nowhere.

233
00:23:52,156 --> 00:23:53,874
I have to go finish
cleaning those droids.

234
00:23:53,956 --> 00:23:57,187
Owen, he can't stay here forever.
Most of his friends have gone.

235
00:23:57,276 --> 00:23:59,232
It means so much to him.

236
00:23:59,876 --> 00:24:02,185
I'll make it up to him next year.
I promise.

237
00:24:03,836 --> 00:24:07,590
Luke's just not a farmer, Owen.
He has too much of his father in him.

238
00:24:07,676 --> 00:24:09,985
That's what I'm afraid of.

239
00:24:56,956 --> 00:24:59,993
- What are you doing hiding back there?
- It wasn't my fault, sir.

240
00:25:00,076 --> 00:25:01,794
Please don't deactivate me.

241
00:25:01,876 --> 00:25:04,436
I told him not to go,
but he's faulty, malfunctioning.

242
00:25:04,516 --> 00:25:07,588
- Kept babbling on about his mission.
- Oh, no.

243
00:25:15,756 --> 00:25:18,031
That R2 unit
has always been a problem.

244
00:25:18,116 --> 00:25:20,630
These astrodroids
are getting quite out of hand.

245
00:25:20,716 --> 00:25:22,866
Even I can't understand
their logic at times.

246
00:25:22,956 --> 00:25:25,345
How could I be so stupid?
He's nowhere in sight.

247
00:25:25,996 --> 00:25:29,147
- Blast it.
- Couldn't we go after him?

248
00:25:29,236 --> 00:25:32,308
It's too dangerous with the Sand People
around. We'll have to wait till morning.

249
00:25:32,396 --> 00:25:34,307
Luke, I'm shutting
the power down.

250
00:25:34,396 --> 00:25:36,273
I'll be there in a few minutes.

251
00:25:36,916 --> 00:25:38,793
Boy, am I gonna get it.

252
00:25:39,436 --> 00:25:43,270
-That droid's gonna cause me trouble.
-He excels at that, sir.

253
00:26:05,036 --> 00:26:06,867
Have you seen Luke this morning?

254
00:26:06,956 --> 00:26:10,232
He said he had things to do before
he started today, so he left early.

255
00:26:10,316 --> 00:26:13,274
- Did he take those new droids with him?
- I think so.

256
00:26:13,916 --> 00:26:16,635
He better have those units in
the south range repaired by midday...

257
00:26:16,716 --> 00:26:18,308
or there'll be hell to pay.

258
00:26:19,276 --> 00:26:21,744
There's a droid on the scanner.
Dead ahead.

259
00:26:21,836 --> 00:26:24,714
It might be our little R2 unit.
Hit the accelerator.

260
00:26:46,236 --> 00:26:48,192
Where do you think you're going?

261
00:26:49,076 --> 00:26:50,907
Master Luke is your
rightful owner now.

262
00:26:50,996 --> 00:26:53,874
We'll have no more
of this Obi-Wan Kenobi gibberish.

263
00:26:54,996 --> 00:26:56,588
Don't talk to me of your mission.

264
00:26:56,676 --> 00:26:59,713
You're fortunate he doesn't blast you
into a million pieces right here.

265
00:26:59,796 --> 00:27:02,151
No. It's all right,
but I think we'd better go.

266
00:27:03,116 --> 00:27:04,993
What's wrong with him now?

267
00:27:05,076 --> 00:27:07,795
There are several creatures
approaching from the southeast.

268
00:27:07,876 --> 00:27:09,832
Sand People. Or worse.

269
00:27:11,156 --> 00:27:13,112
Come on.
Let's go have a look.

270
00:27:13,196 --> 00:27:14,629
Come on.

271
00:27:17,996 --> 00:27:20,510
There are two Banthas down there,
but I don't see any--

272
00:27:20,596 --> 00:27:22,314
Wait a second.

273
00:27:22,396 --> 00:27:25,115
They're Sand People all right.
I can see one of them now.

274
00:28:36,716 --> 00:28:37,865
Hello there.

275
00:28:40,156 --> 00:28:43,307
Come here, my little friend.
Don't be afraid.

276
00:28:45,916 --> 00:28:47,554
Don't worry.
He'll be all right.

277
00:28:53,516 --> 00:28:55,950
Rest easy, son.
You've had a busy day.

278
00:28:56,756 --> 00:28:59,589
You're fortunate
to be all in one piece.

279
00:29:02,716 --> 00:29:04,832
Ben? Ben Kenobi?

280
00:29:04,916 --> 00:29:06,827
Boy, am I glad to see you.

281
00:29:06,916 --> 00:29:09,828
The Jundland Wastes
are not to be travelled lightly.

282
00:29:12,916 --> 00:29:16,272
Tell me, young Luke,
what brings you out this far?

283
00:29:16,996 --> 00:29:18,509
This little droid.

284
00:29:20,476 --> 00:29:21,989
He's searching
for his former master...

285
00:29:22,076 --> 00:29:24,112
but I've never seen
such devotion in a droid.

286
00:29:26,116 --> 00:29:29,074
He claims to be the property
of an Obi-Wan Kenobi.

287
00:29:29,156 --> 00:29:32,034
Is he a relative of yours?
Do you know who he's talking about?

288
00:29:33,156 --> 00:29:34,714
Obi-Wan Kenobi?

289
00:29:37,036 --> 00:29:38,469
Obi-Wan.

290
00:29:39,356 --> 00:29:43,190
Now, that's a name
I've not heard in a long time.

291
00:29:43,916 --> 00:29:45,634
A long time.

292
00:29:46,796 --> 00:29:49,594
I think my uncle knows him.
He said he was dead.

293
00:29:49,676 --> 00:29:51,314
He's not dead.

294
00:29:51,396 --> 00:29:52,545
Not yet.

295
00:29:52,636 --> 00:29:55,514
- You know him?
- Of course I know him.

296
00:29:55,596 --> 00:29:56,915
He's me.

297
00:29:59,516 --> 00:30:02,633
I haven't gone
by the name of Obi-Wan...

298
00:30:02,716 --> 00:30:05,276
since, oh, before you were born.

299
00:30:05,356 --> 00:30:06,914
Then the droid does belong to you.

300
00:30:06,996 --> 00:30:09,556
I don't seem to remember
ever owning a droid.

301
00:30:11,316 --> 00:30:12,749
Very interesting.

302
00:30:14,716 --> 00:30:16,547
I think we better get indoors.

303
00:30:17,196 --> 00:30:19,790
The Sand People are easily startled...

304
00:30:19,876 --> 00:30:22,549
but they'll soon be back--
and in greater numbers.

305
00:30:25,516 --> 00:30:26,585
3PO.

306
00:30:35,636 --> 00:30:38,196
Where am I?
I must have taken a bad step.

307
00:30:39,596 --> 00:30:42,713
Can you stand? We've gotta get out
of here before the Sand People return.

308
00:30:42,796 --> 00:30:45,435
I don't think I can make it.
You go on, Master Luke.

309
00:30:45,516 --> 00:30:49,395
There's no sense in you risking
yourself on my account. I'm done for.

310
00:30:50,396 --> 00:30:52,227
No, you're not.
What kind of talk is that?

311
00:30:52,316 --> 00:30:54,147
Quickly. They're on the move.

312
00:30:59,236 --> 00:31:02,467
My father didn't fight in the wars.
He was a navigator on a spice freighter.

313
00:31:02,556 --> 00:31:06,151
That's what your uncle told you. He
didn't hold with your father's ideals.

314
00:31:06,236 --> 00:31:09,228
Thought he should have stayed here
and not gotten involved.

315
00:31:09,916 --> 00:31:12,146
- You fought in the Clone Wars?
- Yes.

316
00:31:12,236 --> 00:31:15,751
I was once a Jedi knight,
the same as your father.

317
00:31:18,196 --> 00:31:19,868
I wish I'd known him.

318
00:31:19,956 --> 00:31:22,595
He was the best
starpilot in the galaxy...

319
00:31:23,436 --> 00:31:25,267
and a cunning warrior.

320
00:31:25,356 --> 00:31:27,790
I understand you've become
quite a good pilot yourself.

321
00:31:29,916 --> 00:31:32,225
And he was a good friend.

322
00:31:32,316 --> 00:31:33,715
Which reminds me...

323
00:31:34,876 --> 00:31:36,787
I have something here for you.

324
00:31:38,716 --> 00:31:41,230
Your father wanted you to have this
when you were old enough...

325
00:31:41,316 --> 00:31:43,876
but your uncle wouldn't allow it.

326
00:31:44,716 --> 00:31:46,752
He feared you might
follow old Obi-Wan...

327
00:31:46,836 --> 00:31:50,146
on some damn-fool idealistic crusade,
like your father did.

328
00:31:50,236 --> 00:31:53,069
Sir, if you'll not be needing me,
I'll close down for a while.

329
00:31:53,156 --> 00:31:54,669
Go ahead.

330
00:31:57,236 --> 00:32:00,512
- What is it?
- It's your father's lightsabre.

331
00:32:01,316 --> 00:32:03,750
This is the weapon of a Jedi knight.

332
00:32:03,836 --> 00:32:06,555
Not as clumsy or random
as a blaster.

333
00:32:07,516 --> 00:32:09,666
An elegant weapon...

334
00:32:09,756 --> 00:32:12,634
for a more civilized age.

335
00:32:14,436 --> 00:32:16,427
For over a thousand generations...

336
00:32:16,516 --> 00:32:20,589
the Jedi knights were the guardians of
peace and justice in the old Republic...

337
00:32:20,676 --> 00:32:23,315
before the dark times...

338
00:32:23,396 --> 00:32:25,034
before the Empire.

339
00:32:27,916 --> 00:32:29,747
How did my father die?

340
00:32:32,156 --> 00:32:34,590
Ayoung Jedi named Darth Vader...

341
00:32:34,676 --> 00:32:37,110
who was a pupil of mine
until he turned to evil...

342
00:32:37,876 --> 00:32:41,073
helped the Empire hunt down
and destroy the Jedi knights.

343
00:32:42,796 --> 00:32:45,105
He betrayed and murdered your father.

344
00:32:46,796 --> 00:32:48,991
Now the Jedi are all but extinct.

345
00:32:50,196 --> 00:32:53,791
Vader was seduced
by the dark side of the Force.

346
00:32:53,876 --> 00:32:55,355
The Force?

347
00:32:56,636 --> 00:32:58,991
The Force is
what gives a Jedi his power.

348
00:32:59,636 --> 00:33:02,708
It's an energy field
created by all living things.

349
00:33:02,796 --> 00:33:04,946
It surrounds us and penetrates us.

350
00:33:05,036 --> 00:33:06,674
It binds the galaxy together.

351
00:33:13,436 --> 00:33:15,904
Let's see if we can't figure out
what you are, little friend...

352
00:33:17,116 --> 00:33:19,107
and where you come from.

353
00:33:19,196 --> 00:33:22,233
- I saw part of a message--
- I seem to have found it.

354
00:33:22,316 --> 00:33:26,468
<i>General Kenobi, years ago you served</i>
<i>my father in the Clone Wars.</i>

355
00:33:26,556 --> 00:33:29,866
<i>Now he begs you to help him</i>
<i>in his struggle against the Empire.</i>

356
00:33:29,956 --> 00:33:32,948
<i>I regret that I am unable to present</i>
<i>my father's request in person.</i>

357
00:33:33,036 --> 00:33:34,913
<i>But my ship</i>
<i>has fallen under attack...</i>

358
00:33:34,996 --> 00:33:37,112
<i>and my mission</i>
<i>to bring you to Alderaan has failed.</i>

359
00:33:37,196 --> 00:33:40,347
<i>I have placed information vital</i>
<i>to the survival of the rebellion...</i>

360
00:33:40,436 --> 00:33:42,427
<i>into the memory systems</i>
<i>of this R2 unit.</i>

361
00:33:42,516 --> 00:33:44,268
<i>My father will know</i>
<i>how to retrieve it.</i>

362
00:33:45,036 --> 00:33:48,073
<i>You must see this droid</i>
<i>safely delivered to him on Alderaan.</i>

363
00:33:48,876 --> 00:33:51,185
<i>This is our most desperate hour.</i>

364
00:33:51,276 --> 00:33:54,234
<i>Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.</i>
<i>You're my only hope.</i>

365
00:34:08,596 --> 00:34:12,509
You must learn the ways of the Force
if you're to come with me to Alderaan.

366
00:34:12,596 --> 00:34:13,995
Alderaan?

367
00:34:14,076 --> 00:34:15,953
I'm not going to Alderaan.

368
00:34:16,036 --> 00:34:18,186
I've gotta get home.
I'm in for it as it is.

369
00:34:18,276 --> 00:34:20,631
I need your help, Luke.
She needs your help.

370
00:34:20,716 --> 00:34:23,708
I'm getting too old
for this sort of thing.

371
00:34:28,156 --> 00:34:31,353
I can't get involved.
I've got work to do.

372
00:34:32,156 --> 00:34:33,908
It's not that I like the Empire.
I hate it.

373
00:34:33,996 --> 00:34:36,556
But there's nothing
I can do about it right now.

374
00:34:37,916 --> 00:34:41,272
- It's all such a long way from here.
- That's your uncle talking.

375
00:34:41,356 --> 00:34:45,065
Oh, boy. My uncle.
How am I ever gonna explain this?

376
00:34:45,156 --> 00:34:47,511
Learn about the Force, Luke.

377
00:34:53,676 --> 00:34:55,792
I can take you
as far as Anchorhead.

378
00:34:56,436 --> 00:34:59,667
You can get a transport there
to Mos Eisley or wherever you're going.

379
00:35:00,876 --> 00:35:03,754
You must do what you feel
is right, of course.

380
00:35:10,996 --> 00:35:14,466
Until this battle station is fully
operational, we are vulnerable.

381
00:35:14,556 --> 00:35:16,626
The Rebel Alliance
is too well equipped.

382
00:35:16,716 --> 00:35:18,547
They're more dangerous
than you realize.

383
00:35:18,636 --> 00:35:21,434
Dangerous to your starfleet,
Commander...

384
00:35:21,516 --> 00:35:23,154
not to this battle station.

385
00:35:23,236 --> 00:35:26,706
The rebellion will continue to
gain support in the Imperial Senate--

386
00:35:26,796 --> 00:35:30,345
The Imperial Senate will no longer
be of any concern to us.

387
00:35:31,076 --> 00:35:35,035
I've just received word that the emperor
has dissolved the council permanently.

388
00:35:35,116 --> 00:35:38,631
The last remnants of the old Republic
have been swept away.

389
00:35:39,276 --> 00:35:40,629
That's impossible.

390
00:35:40,716 --> 00:35:42,911
How will the emperor maintain control
without the bureaucracy?

391
00:35:42,996 --> 00:35:47,353
The regional governors now have
direct control over their territories.

392
00:35:48,036 --> 00:35:51,551
Fear will keep
the local systems in line.

393
00:35:51,636 --> 00:35:54,867
- Fear of this battle station.
- And what of the rebellion?

394
00:35:54,956 --> 00:35:58,073
If the rebels have obtained a complete
technical readout of this station...

395
00:35:58,156 --> 00:36:00,033
it is possible,
however unlikely...

396
00:36:00,116 --> 00:36:02,152
that they might find a weakness
and exploit it.

397
00:36:02,876 --> 00:36:06,312
The plans you refer to will
soon be back in our hands.

398
00:36:06,396 --> 00:36:10,514
Any attack by the rebels against this
station would be a useless gesture...

399
00:36:10,596 --> 00:36:12,507
no matter what technical data
they've obtained.

400
00:36:12,596 --> 00:36:16,066
This station is now
the ultimate power in the universe.

401
00:36:16,796 --> 00:36:18,388
I suggest we use it.

402
00:36:18,476 --> 00:36:22,549
Don't be too proud of this
technological terror you've constructed.

403
00:36:22,636 --> 00:36:25,912
The ability to destroy a planet
is insignificant...

404
00:36:25,996 --> 00:36:27,748
next to the power of the Force.

405
00:36:27,836 --> 00:36:31,146
Don't try to frighten us with
your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader.

406
00:36:31,236 --> 00:36:33,796
Your sad devotion
to that ancient religion...

407
00:36:33,876 --> 00:36:36,549
has not helped you conjure up
the stolen data tapes...

408
00:36:36,636 --> 00:36:40,549
or given you clairvoyance enough
to find the rebels' hidden fortress--

409
00:36:47,116 --> 00:36:49,152
Ifind your lack of faith disturbing.

410
00:36:51,076 --> 00:36:53,670
Enough of this.
Vader, release him.

411
00:36:53,756 --> 00:36:55,155
As you wish.

412
00:36:57,276 --> 00:36:59,267
This bickering is pointless.

413
00:37:00,396 --> 00:37:03,945
Lord Vader will provide us with
the location of the rebel fortress...

414
00:37:04,036 --> 00:37:06,027
by the time this station
is operational.

415
00:37:06,676 --> 00:37:09,713
We will then crush the rebellion
with one swift stroke.

416
00:37:17,356 --> 00:37:20,473
It looks like the Sand People did this.
There's gaffi sticks, Bantha tracks.

417
00:37:20,556 --> 00:37:23,116
I've just never heard of them
hitting anything this big before.

418
00:37:23,196 --> 00:37:26,393
They didn't, but we are
meant to think they did.

419
00:37:26,476 --> 00:37:28,307
These tracks are side-by-side.

420
00:37:28,396 --> 00:37:32,389
Sand People always ride single file
to hide their numbers.

421
00:37:32,476 --> 00:37:35,229
These are the same Jawas
that sold us R2 and 3PO.

422
00:37:35,316 --> 00:37:39,355
And these blast points,
too accurate for Sand People.

423
00:37:39,996 --> 00:37:43,750
Only imperial stormtroopers
are so precise.

424
00:37:43,836 --> 00:37:46,225
But why would imperial troops
want to slaughter Jawas?

425
00:37:51,476 --> 00:37:54,354
If they traced the robots here, they may
have learned who they sold them to...

426
00:37:54,436 --> 00:37:56,347
and that would lead
them back... home.

427
00:37:56,436 --> 00:37:57,664
Wait, Luke.

428
00:37:57,756 --> 00:37:59,667
It's too dangerous.

429
00:38:22,796 --> 00:38:24,115
Uncle Owen.

430
00:38:24,196 --> 00:38:25,515
Aunt Beru.

431
00:39:15,076 --> 00:39:17,874
Now, Your Highness,
we will discuss the location...

432
00:39:17,956 --> 00:39:20,424
of your hidden rebel base.

433
00:40:01,516 --> 00:40:03,905
There's nothing you could have done,
had you been there.

434
00:40:04,716 --> 00:40:06,547
You'd have been killed too...

435
00:40:06,636 --> 00:40:09,230
and the droids would now be
in the hands of the Empire.

436
00:40:10,956 --> 00:40:12,867
I want to come with you to Alderaan.

437
00:40:13,596 --> 00:40:15,507
There's nothing for me here now.

438
00:40:15,596 --> 00:40:18,474
I want to learn the ways of the Force
and become a Jedi like my father.

439
00:40:33,556 --> 00:40:35,786
Mos Eisley spaceport.

440
00:40:35,876 --> 00:40:40,472
You will never find a more wretched hive
of scum and villainy.

441
00:40:41,356 --> 00:40:43,267
We must be cautious.

442
00:40:57,956 --> 00:40:59,787
How long have you
had these droids?

443
00:40:59,876 --> 00:41:02,913
- Three or four seasons.
- They're up for sale if you want them.

444
00:41:02,996 --> 00:41:04,793
Let me see your identification.

445
00:41:04,876 --> 00:41:08,073
You don't need to see
his identification.

446
00:41:08,156 --> 00:41:10,431
We don't need to see
his identification.

447
00:41:10,516 --> 00:41:12,950
These aren't the droids
you're looking for.

448
00:41:13,036 --> 00:41:15,948
These aren't the droids
we're looking for.

449
00:41:16,036 --> 00:41:18,311
He can go about his business.

450
00:41:18,396 --> 00:41:21,513
- You can go about your business.
- Move along.

451
00:41:21,596 --> 00:41:22,790
Move along.

452
00:41:34,876 --> 00:41:37,913
I can't abide those Jawas.
Disgusting creatures.

453
00:41:38,876 --> 00:41:40,753
Go on, go on.

454
00:41:42,036 --> 00:41:45,153
I can't understand how we got by
those troops. I thought we were dead.

455
00:41:45,236 --> 00:41:49,388
The Force can have a strong influence
on the weak-minded.

456
00:41:52,516 --> 00:41:55,474
You really think we're gonna find
a pilot here to take us to Alderaan?

457
00:41:55,556 --> 00:41:58,389
Most of the best freighter pilots
are to be found here.

458
00:41:58,476 --> 00:42:02,151
Only watch your step--
this place can be a little rough.

459
00:42:02,236 --> 00:42:04,306
I'm ready for anything.

460
00:42:07,636 --> 00:42:09,467
Come along, R2.

461
00:42:57,436 --> 00:43:00,792
- Hey. We don't serve their kind here.
- What?

462
00:43:00,876 --> 00:43:03,709
Your droids-- they'll have to wait
outside. We don't want them here.

463
00:43:03,796 --> 00:43:06,151
Wait out by the speeder.
We don't want any trouble.

464
00:43:06,236 --> 00:43:08,147
I heartily agree with you, sir.

465
00:43:17,396 --> 00:43:19,307
I'll have one of those.

466
00:43:52,596 --> 00:43:55,190
- He doesn't like you.
- I'm sorry.

467
00:43:57,116 --> 00:44:00,506
I don't like you either.
You just watch yourself.

468
00:44:00,596 --> 00:44:04,987
We're wanted men.
I have the death sentence on 1 2 systems.

469
00:44:05,076 --> 00:44:07,795
- I'll be careful then.
- You'll be dead.

470
00:44:07,876 --> 00:44:09,753
This little one's
not worth the effort.

471
00:44:10,876 --> 00:44:12,787
Come, let me get you something.

472
00:44:38,516 --> 00:44:40,427
I'm all right.

473
00:44:41,676 --> 00:44:45,589
Chewbacca here is first mate
on a ship that might suit us.

474
00:44:50,316 --> 00:44:52,272
I don't like the look of this.

475
00:45:06,476 --> 00:45:09,912
Han Solo. I'm captain
of the <i>Millennium Falcon.</i>

476
00:45:09,996 --> 00:45:13,068
Chewie here tells me you're looking
for passage to the Alderaan system.

477
00:45:13,156 --> 00:45:15,386
Yes, indeed,
if it's a fast ship.

478
00:45:15,476 --> 00:45:19,105
Fast ship? You've never heard of
the <i>Millennium Falcon?</i>

479
00:45:19,196 --> 00:45:20,754
Should I have?

480
00:45:20,836 --> 00:45:23,873
It's the ship that made the Kessel run
in less than 1 2 parsecs.

481
00:45:25,796 --> 00:45:27,991
I've outrun imperial starships.

482
00:45:28,076 --> 00:45:29,987
Not the local bulk cruisers,
mind you.

483
00:45:30,076 --> 00:45:32,146
I'm talking about
the big Corellian ships now.

484
00:45:33,876 --> 00:45:35,832
She's fast enough for you,
old man.

485
00:45:36,836 --> 00:45:39,634
- What's the cargo?
- Only passengers--

486
00:45:39,716 --> 00:45:42,435
myself, the boy, two droids...

487
00:45:43,516 --> 00:45:45,347
and no questions asked.

488
00:45:46,556 --> 00:45:48,353
Is it some kind of local trouble?

489
00:45:48,436 --> 00:45:53,385
Let's just say we'd like to avoid
any imperial entanglements.

490
00:45:54,796 --> 00:45:57,435
Well, that's the real trick, isn't it?

491
00:45:57,516 --> 00:45:59,393
And it's gonna cost you
something extra.

492
00:46:01,116 --> 00:46:02,788
1 0,000, all in advance.

493
00:46:04,476 --> 00:46:05,704
1 0,000?

494
00:46:06,956 --> 00:46:09,424
We could almost
buy our own ship for that.

495
00:46:09,516 --> 00:46:11,666
But who's gonna fly it, kid? You?

496
00:46:11,756 --> 00:46:13,747
You bet I could.
I'm not such a bad pilot.

497
00:46:13,836 --> 00:46:16,145
We don't have
to sit here and listen--

498
00:46:16,236 --> 00:46:18,989
We can pay you 2,000 now...

499
00:46:19,076 --> 00:46:22,227
plus 1 5 when we reach Alderaan.

500
00:46:22,956 --> 00:46:24,071
Seventeen?

501
00:46:27,636 --> 00:46:29,831
Okay, you guys
got yourselves a ship.

502
00:46:29,916 --> 00:46:32,305
We'll leave as soon as you're ready.
Docking Bay 94.

503
00:46:32,396 --> 00:46:33,511
Ninety-four.

504
00:46:35,036 --> 00:46:38,392
Looks like somebody's beginning
to take an interest in your handiwork.

505
00:46:39,836 --> 00:46:41,872
All right. We'll check it out.

506
00:46:53,276 --> 00:46:56,586
1 7,000. Those guys
must really be desperate.

507
00:46:56,676 --> 00:46:59,986
This could really save my neck.
Get back to the ship, get it ready.

508
00:47:01,036 --> 00:47:02,992
- You'll have to sell your speeder.
- That's okay.

509
00:47:03,076 --> 00:47:05,032
I'm never coming back
to this planet again.

510
00:47:05,995 --> 00:47:08,463
Going somewhere, Solo?

511
00:47:08,555 --> 00:47:11,433
Yes, Greedo. As a matter of fact,
I was just going to see your boss.

512
00:47:11,515 --> 00:47:13,665
Tell Jabba that
I've got his money.

513
00:47:13,755 --> 00:47:15,586
It's too late.

514
00:47:15,675 --> 00:47:17,984
You should have paid him
when you had the chance.

515
00:47:18,075 --> 00:47:21,385
Jabba's put a price on your head
so large...

516
00:47:21,475 --> 00:47:24,308
every bounty hunter in the galaxy
will be looking for you.

517
00:47:24,395 --> 00:47:26,306
I'm lucky I found you first.

518
00:47:26,395 --> 00:47:28,511
Yeah, but this time
I've got the money.

519
00:47:28,595 --> 00:47:32,031
If you give it to me,
I might forget I found you.

520
00:47:32,115 --> 00:47:35,312
I don't have it with me.
Tell Jabba--

521
00:47:35,395 --> 00:47:37,784
Jabba's through with you.

522
00:47:37,875 --> 00:47:40,309
He has no time for smugglers...

523
00:47:40,395 --> 00:47:42,955
who drop their shipments at
the first sign of an imperial cruiser.

524
00:47:43,035 --> 00:47:46,630
Even I get boarded sometimes.
Do you think I had a choice?

525
00:47:46,715 --> 00:47:50,674
You can tell that to Jabba.
He may only take your ship.

526
00:47:50,755 --> 00:47:52,871
Over my dead body.

527
00:47:52,955 --> 00:47:54,070
That's the idea.

528
00:47:54,155 --> 00:47:57,989
I've been looking forward to this
for a long time.

529
00:47:58,075 --> 00:47:59,713
I'll bet you have.

530
00:48:12,875 --> 00:48:14,945
Sorry about the mess.

531
00:48:23,435 --> 00:48:26,347
Her resistance to the mind probe
is considerable.

532
00:48:26,435 --> 00:48:29,745
It'll be some time before we can
extract any information from her.

533
00:48:29,835 --> 00:48:33,271
The final checkout is completed.
All systems are operational.

534
00:48:33,355 --> 00:48:35,471
What course shall we set?

535
00:48:35,555 --> 00:48:38,831
Perhaps she would respond
to an alternative form of persuasion.

536
00:48:38,915 --> 00:48:40,473
What do you mean?

537
00:48:40,555 --> 00:48:43,388
I think it is time we demonstrated
the full power of this station.

538
00:48:43,475 --> 00:48:45,864
- Set your course for Alderaan.
- With pleasure.

539
00:48:46,995 --> 00:48:48,951
Lock the door, R2.

540
00:48:50,955 --> 00:48:52,866
Check this side of the street.

541
00:48:56,875 --> 00:48:59,343
The door's locked.
Move on to the next one.

542
00:49:05,675 --> 00:49:08,553
I would much rather have gone with
Master Luke than stay here with you.

543
00:49:09,275 --> 00:49:12,585
I don't know what this trouble is about,
but I'm sure it must be your fault.

544
00:49:13,355 --> 00:49:14,834
Watch your language.

545
00:49:16,795 --> 00:49:19,229
All right. Give it to me.
I'll take it.

546
00:49:20,035 --> 00:49:23,471
Look at this. Ever since the XP-38
came out, they just aren't in demand.

547
00:49:23,555 --> 00:49:25,273
It'll be enough.

548
00:49:41,795 --> 00:49:45,231
If the ship's as fast as he's boasting,
we ought to do well.

549
00:50:06,675 --> 00:50:08,506
What a piece of junk.

550
00:50:08,595 --> 00:50:11,029
She'll make .5 past light speed.

551
00:50:11,115 --> 00:50:13,788
She may not look like much,
but she's got it where it counts, kid.

552
00:50:13,875 --> 00:50:16,753
I've made a lot of special
modifications myself.

553
00:50:16,835 --> 00:50:20,589
But we're a little rushed, so if you'll
just get on board, we'll get outta here.

554
00:50:24,995 --> 00:50:26,428
Hello, sir.

555
00:50:35,155 --> 00:50:36,588
Which way?

556
00:50:38,115 --> 00:50:40,026
All right, men,
load your weapons.

557
00:50:41,555 --> 00:50:44,023
Stop that ship.
Blast them.

558
00:50:53,475 --> 00:50:55,386
Chewie, get us out of here!

559
00:50:56,755 --> 00:51:00,145
Oh, my. I'd forgotten
how much I hate space travel.

560
00:51:15,195 --> 00:51:18,028
Looks like an imperial cruiser. Our
passengers are hotter than I thought.

561
00:51:18,115 --> 00:51:19,787
Hold 'em off.
Angle the deflector shields...

562
00:51:19,875 --> 00:51:21,672
while I make the calculations
for the jump to light speed.

563
00:51:32,035 --> 00:51:34,833
Stay sharp. There's two more comin'.
They're gonna try and cut us off.

564
00:51:34,915 --> 00:51:36,871
Why don't you outrun 'em?
I thought this thing was fast.

565
00:51:36,955 --> 00:51:38,752
Watch your mouth, or you're
gonna find yourself floating home.

566
00:51:38,835 --> 00:51:42,111
We'll be safe enough
once we make the jump to hyperspace.

567
00:51:42,195 --> 00:51:43,992
Besides, I know a few manoeuvres.
We'll lose 'em.

568
00:51:47,915 --> 00:51:49,871
Here's where the fun begins.

569
00:51:49,955 --> 00:51:51,673
How long before you can
jump to light speed?

570
00:51:51,755 --> 00:51:54,553
It'll take a few moments to get
the coordinates from the navicomputer.

571
00:51:54,635 --> 00:51:56,148
At the rate they're gaining?

572
00:51:56,235 --> 00:51:59,147
Travelling through hyperspace
ain't like dustin' crops, boy.

573
00:51:59,235 --> 00:52:00,429
Without precise calculations...

574
00:52:00,515 --> 00:52:02,790
we'd fly right through a star
or bounce too close to a supernova...

575
00:52:02,875 --> 00:52:05,150
and that would end your trip
real quick.

576
00:52:05,235 --> 00:52:07,510
- What's that flashing?
- We're losing a deflector shield.

577
00:52:07,595 --> 00:52:10,428
Go strap yourselves in.
I'm gonna make the jump to light speed.

578
00:52:30,555 --> 00:52:32,785
We've entered
the Alderaan system.

579
00:52:33,755 --> 00:52:37,543
Governor Tarkin. I should have expected
to find you holding Vader's leash.

580
00:52:37,635 --> 00:52:41,150
I recognized your foul stench
when I was brought on board.

581
00:52:42,715 --> 00:52:44,546
Charming to the last.

582
00:52:45,195 --> 00:52:47,026
You don't know
how hard I found it...

583
00:52:47,115 --> 00:52:48,946
signing the order
to terminate your life.

584
00:52:49,035 --> 00:52:51,788
I'm surprised you had the courage
to take the responsibility yourself.

585
00:52:51,875 --> 00:52:54,912
Princess Leia,
before your execution...

586
00:52:54,995 --> 00:52:57,111
I would like you to be my guest
at a ceremony...

587
00:52:57,195 --> 00:53:00,107
that will make
this battle station operational.

588
00:53:00,195 --> 00:53:02,914
No star system will dare
oppose the emperor now.

589
00:53:03,555 --> 00:53:05,591
The more you
tighten your grip, Tarkin...

590
00:53:05,675 --> 00:53:08,235
the more star systems
will slip through your fingers.

591
00:53:08,315 --> 00:53:10,954
Not after we demonstrate
the power of this station.

592
00:53:11,595 --> 00:53:14,905
In a way, you have determined
the choice of the planet...

593
00:53:14,995 --> 00:53:17,065
that'll be destroyed first.

594
00:53:17,155 --> 00:53:21,467
Since you are reluctant to provide us
with the location of the rebel base...

595
00:53:21,555 --> 00:53:24,274
I have chosen to test
this station's destructive power...

596
00:53:24,355 --> 00:53:26,266
on your home planet of Alderaan.

597
00:53:27,195 --> 00:53:29,834
No. Alderaan is peaceful.
We have no weapons.

598
00:53:29,915 --> 00:53:32,145
You would prefer another target?
A military target?

599
00:53:32,235 --> 00:53:34,351
Then name the system.

600
00:53:36,195 --> 00:53:39,426
I grow tired of asking this,
so it will be the last time.

601
00:53:40,275 --> 00:53:42,072
Where is the rebel base?

602
00:53:45,475 --> 00:53:47,033
Dantooine.

603
00:53:47,675 --> 00:53:49,393
They're on Dantooine.

604
00:53:49,475 --> 00:53:52,751
There. You see, Lord Vader?
She can be reasonable.

605
00:53:52,835 --> 00:53:55,554
Continue with the operation.
You may fire when ready.

606
00:53:55,635 --> 00:53:57,705
- What?
- You're far too trusting.

607
00:53:57,795 --> 00:54:00,150
Dantooine is too remote
to make an effective demonstration.

608
00:54:00,235 --> 00:54:04,626
But don't worry. We will deal with
your rebel friends soon enough.

609
00:54:06,955 --> 00:54:08,991
Commence primary ignition.

610
00:54:31,395 --> 00:54:33,465
Are you all right?
What's wrong?

611
00:54:34,795 --> 00:54:36,911
I felt a great disturbance
in the Force...

612
00:54:36,995 --> 00:54:40,032
as if millions of voices suddenly
cried out in terror...

613
00:54:40,115 --> 00:54:41,992
and were suddenly silenced.

614
00:54:42,635 --> 00:54:44,591
I fear something terrible
has happened.

615
00:54:46,275 --> 00:54:48,425
You'd better get on
with your exercises.

616
00:54:50,875 --> 00:54:53,184
You can forget your troubles
with those imperial slugs.

617
00:54:53,275 --> 00:54:55,186
I told you I'd outrun them.

618
00:54:58,995 --> 00:55:00,986
Don't everybody
thank me at once.

619
00:55:01,075 --> 00:55:04,351
Anyway, we should be at Alderaan
about 0200 hours.

620
00:55:12,555 --> 00:55:14,466
Now be careful, R2.

621
00:55:23,475 --> 00:55:25,943
He made a fair move.
Screaming about it can't help you.

622
00:55:26,035 --> 00:55:28,105
Let him have it.
It's not wise to upset a Wookiee.

623
00:55:28,195 --> 00:55:30,470
But, sir, nobody worries
about upsetting a droid.

624
00:55:30,555 --> 00:55:34,946
'Cause a droid don't pull people's arms
out of their sockets when they lose.

625
00:55:35,035 --> 00:55:37,151
Wookiees are known to do that.

626
00:55:38,795 --> 00:55:40,592
I see your point, sir.

627
00:55:40,675 --> 00:55:44,145
I suggest a new strategy, R2.
Let the Wookiee win.

628
00:56:01,875 --> 00:56:05,345
Remember, a Jedi can feel the Force
flowing through him.

629
00:56:06,075 --> 00:56:08,305
- You mean it controls your actions?
- Partially.

630
00:56:08,395 --> 00:56:10,226
But it also obeys your commands.

631
00:56:15,235 --> 00:56:19,274
Hokey religions and ancient weapons
are no match for a blaster at your side.

632
00:56:19,955 --> 00:56:22,310
You don't believe
in the Force, do you?

633
00:56:22,395 --> 00:56:24,704
Kid, I've flown from one side
of this galaxy to the other.

634
00:56:24,795 --> 00:56:26,626
I've seen a lot of strange stuff...

635
00:56:26,715 --> 00:56:28,910
but I've never seen anything
to make me believe...

636
00:56:28,995 --> 00:56:32,192
there's one all-powerful force
controlling everything.

637
00:56:32,275 --> 00:56:36,234
There's no mystical energy field
controls my destiny.

638
00:56:36,315 --> 00:56:39,068
It's all a lot of
simple tricks and nonsense.

639
00:56:39,155 --> 00:56:41,953
I suggest you try it again, Luke.

640
00:56:43,235 --> 00:56:46,113
This time, let go your conscious self...

641
00:56:47,875 --> 00:56:49,991
and act on instinct.

642
00:56:51,035 --> 00:56:54,345
With the blast shield down, I can't see.
How am I supposed to fight?

643
00:56:54,435 --> 00:56:56,744
Your eyes can deceive you.
Don't trust them.

644
00:57:05,795 --> 00:57:08,025
Stretch out with your feelings.

645
00:57:21,875 --> 00:57:23,945
You see? You can do it.

646
00:57:24,035 --> 00:57:25,627
I call it luck.

647
00:57:25,715 --> 00:57:28,229
In my experience,
there's no such thing as luck.

648
00:57:28,315 --> 00:57:30,510
Good against remotes is one thing.

649
00:57:30,595 --> 00:57:33,473
Good against the living,
that's something else.

650
00:57:34,515 --> 00:57:36,392
We're coming up on Alderaan.

651
00:57:39,635 --> 00:57:42,229
I did feel something.
I could almost see the remote.

652
00:57:42,315 --> 00:57:46,547
That's good. You've taken
your first step into a larger world.

653
00:57:51,555 --> 00:57:53,068
Yes?

654
00:57:53,155 --> 00:57:55,032
Our scout ships
have reached Dantooine.

655
00:57:55,115 --> 00:57:56,946
They found the remains
of a rebel base...

656
00:57:57,035 --> 00:57:59,310
but they estimate that
it has been deserted for some time.

657
00:57:59,395 --> 00:58:02,626
They are now conducting an extensive
search of the surrounding systems.

658
00:58:03,595 --> 00:58:06,063
She lied.
She lied to us.

659
00:58:06,155 --> 00:58:09,704
I told you she would never
consciously betray the rebellion.

660
00:58:10,995 --> 00:58:12,906
Terminate her immediately.

661
00:58:15,915 --> 00:58:18,475
Stand by, Chewie.
Cut in the sublight engines.

662
00:58:21,075 --> 00:58:22,144
What the--

663
00:58:25,155 --> 00:58:28,704
We've come out in a meteor shower,
some kind of asteroid collision.

664
00:58:28,795 --> 00:58:31,025
- It's not on any of the charts.
- What's going on?

665
00:58:31,115 --> 00:58:33,345
Author
Time
Damn forum software Here is part 2

665
00:58:31,115 --> 00:58:33,345
Our position's correct,
except no Alderaan.

666
00:58:33,435 --> 00:58:35,585
- Where is it?
- That's what I'm trying to tell you.

667
00:58:35,675 --> 00:58:37,427
It ain't there.
It's been blown away.

668
00:58:37,515 --> 00:58:40,109
- What? How?
- Destroyed by the Empire.

669
00:58:40,195 --> 00:58:42,345
The entire starfleet
couldn't destroy the whole planet.

670
00:58:42,435 --> 00:58:44,869
It'd take a thousand ships
with more firepower than I've--

671
00:58:46,355 --> 00:58:48,505
- There's another ship coming in.
- Maybe they know what happened.

672
00:58:48,595 --> 00:58:49,823
It's an imperial fighter.

673
00:58:51,795 --> 00:58:54,309
- It followed us.
- No. It's a short-range fighter.

674
00:58:54,395 --> 00:58:56,465
There aren't any bases here.
Where did it come from?

675
00:58:59,595 --> 00:59:02,234
Sure is leaving in a hurry.
If they identify us, we're in trouble.

676
00:59:02,315 --> 00:59:04,351
Not if I can help it.
Chewie, jam its transmissions.

677
00:59:04,435 --> 00:59:07,666
- Let it go. It's too far out of range.
- Not for long.

678
00:59:11,355 --> 00:59:14,472
Afighter that size couldn't get
this deep into space on its own.

679
00:59:14,555 --> 00:59:17,115
He must have gotten lost,
been part of a convoy or something.

680
00:59:17,195 --> 00:59:19,948
He ain't gonna be around
long enough to tell anybody about us.

681
00:59:22,355 --> 00:59:24,186
He's heading for that small moon.

682
00:59:24,275 --> 00:59:26,709
I can get him before he gets there.
He's almost in range.

683
00:59:28,195 --> 00:59:30,231
That's no moon.

684
00:59:30,315 --> 00:59:33,512
- It's a space station.
- It's too big to be a space station.

685
00:59:36,715 --> 00:59:39,070
I have a very bad
feeling about this.

686
00:59:39,155 --> 00:59:40,952
Turn the ship around.

687
00:59:41,035 --> 00:59:43,185
Yeah. I think you're right.
Full reverse.

688
00:59:43,275 --> 00:59:45,231
Chewie, lock in
the auxiliary power.

689
00:59:49,755 --> 00:59:51,825
Chewie, lock in
the auxiliary power.

690
00:59:53,755 --> 00:59:55,632
Why are we still
moving towards it?

691
00:59:55,715 --> 00:59:57,467
A tractor beam's pulling us in.

692
00:59:57,555 --> 00:59:59,147
There's gotta be
something you can do.

693
00:59:59,235 --> 01:00:01,988
There's nothing I can do.
I'm at full power. I have to shut down.

694
01:00:02,075 --> 01:00:04,384
They're not gonna get me
without a fight.

695
01:00:07,755 --> 01:00:11,145
You can't win, but there are
alternatives to fighting.

696
01:00:27,115 --> 01:00:29,231
<i>Clear Bay 3 2 7.</i>

697
01:00:29,315 --> 01:00:31,545
<i>We are opening</i>
<i>the magnetic field.</i>

698
01:00:45,555 --> 01:00:47,466
To your stations.
Come with me.

699
01:00:51,835 --> 01:00:55,111
<i>Close all outboard shields.</i>
<i>Close all outboard shields.</i>

700
01:00:56,715 --> 01:00:57,625
Yes?

701
01:00:57,715 --> 01:01:00,627
<i>We've captured a freighter entering</i>
<i>the remains of the Alderaan system.</i>

702
01:01:00,715 --> 01:01:04,424
<i>Its markings match those of a ship</i>
<i>that blasted its way out of Mos Eisley.</i>

703
01:01:04,515 --> 01:01:08,144
They must be trying to return
the stolen plans to the princess.

704
01:01:08,235 --> 01:01:11,193
She may yet be of some use to us.

705
01:01:16,035 --> 01:01:19,232
<i>Unlock 1, 5, 7 and 9.</i>
<i>Release charge.</i>

706
01:01:21,315 --> 01:01:23,306
<i>3 1 6, report to control.</i>

707
01:01:26,435 --> 01:01:28,073
There's no one on board, sir.

708
01:01:28,155 --> 01:01:30,794
According to the log, the crew
abandoned ship right after take-off.

709
01:01:31,555 --> 01:01:34,274
It must be a decoy. Several
escape pods have been jettisoned.

710
01:01:34,355 --> 01:01:36,232
- Did you find any droids?
- No, sir.

711
01:01:36,315 --> 01:01:38,112
If there were any,
they must have jettisoned.

712
01:01:38,195 --> 01:01:41,551
Send a scanning crew aboard.
I want every part of this ship checked.

713
01:01:41,635 --> 01:01:42,829
Yes, sir.

714
01:01:42,915 --> 01:01:44,428
I sense something...

715
01:01:44,515 --> 01:01:46,904
a presence I've not felt since--

716
01:01:49,475 --> 01:01:52,706
Get me a scanning crew in here.
I want every part of this ship checked.

717
01:02:11,795 --> 01:02:13,865
Boy, it's lucky you had
these compartments.

718
01:02:13,955 --> 01:02:16,913
I use them for smuggling. I never
thought I'd be smuggling myself in 'em.

719
01:02:16,995 --> 01:02:18,144
This is ridiculous.

720
01:02:18,235 --> 01:02:20,669
Even if I could take off,
I'd never get past the tractor beam.

721
01:02:20,755 --> 01:02:22,029
Leave that to me.

722
01:02:22,115 --> 01:02:25,073
Damn fool.
I knew you were gonna say that.

723
01:02:25,155 --> 01:02:28,465
Who's the more foolish,
the fool or the fool who follows him?

724
01:02:37,675 --> 01:02:41,190
The ship's all yours. If the scanners
pick up anything, report it immediately.

725
01:02:42,755 --> 01:02:44,188
Let's go.

726
01:02:58,275 --> 01:03:00,186
Hey, down there.

727
01:03:01,755 --> 01:03:03,666
Could you give us a hand with this?

728
01:03:11,715 --> 01:03:14,070
TK-42 1 , why aren't you
at your post?

729
01:03:15,195 --> 01:03:17,151
TK-42 1 , do you copy?

730
01:03:28,635 --> 01:03:31,468
Take over. We've got a bad transmitter.
I'll see what I can do.

731
01:03:48,555 --> 01:03:50,864
Between his howling
and your blasting everything...

732
01:03:50,955 --> 01:03:53,515
it's a wonder the whole station
doesn't know we're here.

733
01:03:53,595 --> 01:03:56,155
Bring 'em on. I prefer a straight fight
to sneakin' around.

734
01:03:56,235 --> 01:03:57,953
We've found
the computer outlet, sir.

735
01:03:58,035 --> 01:04:00,947
Plug in. He should be able to
interpret the entire imperial network.

736
01:04:11,715 --> 01:04:15,025
He's found the controls to the power
beam that's holding the ship here.

737
01:04:15,115 --> 01:04:17,868
He'll try to make the precise location
appear on the monitor.

738
01:04:27,675 --> 01:04:30,792
I don't think you boys can help.
I must go alone.

739
01:04:30,875 --> 01:04:34,151
Whatever you say. I've done more than
I bargained for on this trip already.

740
01:04:34,235 --> 01:04:37,944
- I want to go with you.
- Be patient, Luke. Watch the droids.

741
01:04:38,035 --> 01:04:39,946
They must be delivered safely...

742
01:04:40,035 --> 01:04:43,072
or other star systems will suffer
the same fate as Alderaan.

743
01:04:43,155 --> 01:04:46,352
Your destiny lies along
a different path from mine.

744
01:04:49,795 --> 01:04:51,672
The Force will be with you...

745
01:04:51,755 --> 01:04:53,154
always.

746
01:05:02,235 --> 01:05:04,430
You said it, Chewie.

747
01:05:04,515 --> 01:05:06,790
Where did you dig up that old fossil?

748
01:05:07,835 --> 01:05:09,393
Ben is a great man.

749
01:05:09,475 --> 01:05:12,273
- Great at getting us into trouble.
- I didn't hear you give any ideas.

750
01:05:12,355 --> 01:05:15,267
Anything's better than just hangin'
around waiting for 'em to pick us up.

751
01:05:15,355 --> 01:05:17,585
Who do you think--

752
01:05:17,675 --> 01:05:20,792
- What is it?
- I'm afraid I'm not quite sure, sir.

753
01:05:20,875 --> 01:05:23,343
He says, "I've found her,'
and keeps repeating, "She's here.'

754
01:05:23,435 --> 01:05:25,949
Who? Who has he found?

755
01:05:26,035 --> 01:05:28,674
- Princess Leia.
- The princess? She's here?

756
01:05:28,755 --> 01:05:30,393
- Princess?
- Where is she?

757
01:05:30,475 --> 01:05:32,306
Princess? What's going on?

758
01:05:37,515 --> 01:05:40,188
Level 5, Detention Block AA-23.

759
01:05:44,835 --> 01:05:47,349
I'm afraid she's scheduled
to be terminated.

760
01:05:47,435 --> 01:05:50,313
Oh, no.
We've gotta do something.

761
01:05:50,395 --> 01:05:52,750
- What are you talking about?
- The droids belong to her.

762
01:05:52,835 --> 01:05:54,666
She's the one in the message.
We gotta help her.

763
01:05:54,755 --> 01:05:57,553
Don't get any funny ideas.
The old man wants us to wait here.

764
01:05:57,635 --> 01:06:00,752
He didn't know she was here.
Find a way into that detention block.

765
01:06:00,835 --> 01:06:03,190
- I'm not going anywhere.
- They're gonna execute her.

766
01:06:03,275 --> 01:06:06,711
You said you didn't want to just wait
to be captured. Now you want to stay?

767
01:06:06,795 --> 01:06:09,753
Marching into the detention area
is not what I had in mind.

768
01:06:09,835 --> 01:06:12,554
- But they're gonna kill her.
- Better her than me.

769
01:06:19,955 --> 01:06:21,229
She's rich.

770
01:06:23,755 --> 01:06:25,108
Rich?

771
01:06:25,755 --> 01:06:29,634
Rich, powerful. If you were to
rescue her, the reward would be--

772
01:06:29,715 --> 01:06:32,434
- What?
- Well, more well than you can imagine.

773
01:06:32,515 --> 01:06:34,392
I don't know.
I can imagine quite a bit.

774
01:06:34,475 --> 01:06:36,466
- You'll get it.
- I better.

775
01:06:36,555 --> 01:06:37,988
You will.

776
01:06:38,075 --> 01:06:40,430
All right, kid.
You better be right about this.

777
01:06:40,515 --> 01:06:42,426
- All right.
- What's your plan?

778
01:06:43,395 --> 01:06:45,784
3PO, hand me those binders there,
will you?

779
01:06:47,275 --> 01:06:48,628
Okay.

780
01:06:49,275 --> 01:06:51,106
Now, I'm gonna put these on you.

781
01:06:52,235 --> 01:06:55,307
Okay, Han,
you put those on.

782
01:06:56,355 --> 01:06:58,710
Don't worry, Chewie.
I think I know what he has in mind.

783
01:06:58,795 --> 01:07:01,104
Master Luke, sir,
pardon me for asking...

784
01:07:01,195 --> 01:07:04,312
but what should R2 and I do
if we're discovered here?

785
01:07:04,395 --> 01:07:08,070
- Lock the door.
- And hope they don't have blasters.

786
01:07:08,155 --> 01:07:10,111
That isn't very reassuring.

787
01:07:29,595 --> 01:07:31,586
<i>5 1 7 to scanner control.</i>

788
01:07:31,675 --> 01:07:33,666
<i>5 1 7 to scanner control.</i>

789
01:07:37,435 --> 01:07:39,426
<i>3 1 6, report to control.</i>

790
01:07:42,915 --> 01:07:45,065
<i>53 to upper bay door.</i>

791
01:07:45,155 --> 01:07:47,430
<i>53 to upper bay door.</i>

792
01:07:59,315 --> 01:08:01,590
I can't see a thing
in this helmet.

793
01:08:31,715 --> 01:08:34,309
- This is not gonna work.
- Why didn't you say so before?

794
01:08:34,395 --> 01:08:36,306
I did say so before.

795
01:08:50,635 --> 01:08:53,752
Where are you
taking this... thing?

796
01:08:53,835 --> 01:08:56,474
Prisoner transfer
from Cell Block 1 1 38.

797
01:08:57,715 --> 01:08:59,592
I wasn't notified.

798
01:08:59,675 --> 01:09:01,586
I'll have to clear it.

799
01:09:07,675 --> 01:09:10,109
- Look out! He's loose!
- He'll tear us all apart!

800
01:09:33,475 --> 01:09:34,146
Look out.

801
01:09:44,275 --> 01:09:46,664
We gotta find out which cell
this princess of yours is in.

802
01:09:46,755 --> 01:09:48,871
Here it is-- 2 1 8 7.
You go and get her.

803
01:09:48,955 --> 01:09:50,866
I'll hold them here.

804
01:09:54,595 --> 01:09:57,109
Everything's under control.
Situation normal.

805
01:09:57,195 --> 01:09:58,344
<i>What happened?</i>

806
01:09:58,435 --> 01:10:00,266
Had a slight weapons malfunction...

807
01:10:00,355 --> 01:10:02,630
but everything's
perfectly all right now.

808
01:10:02,715 --> 01:10:05,787
We're fine. We're all fine here now.
Thank you.

809
01:10:05,875 --> 01:10:08,469
- How are you?
- <i>We're sending a squad up.</i>

810
01:10:09,435 --> 01:10:12,427
Negative, negative.
We have a reactor leak here now.

811
01:10:12,515 --> 01:10:16,269
Give us a few minutes to lock it down.
Large leak, very dangerous.

812
01:10:16,355 --> 01:10:18,823
<i>Who is this?</i>
<i>What's your operating number?</i>

813
01:10:21,155 --> 01:10:24,511
Boring conversation anyway.
Luke, we're gonna have company!

814
01:10:37,595 --> 01:10:40,029
Aren't you a little short
for a stormtrooper?

815
01:10:41,315 --> 01:10:42,748
Oh, the uniform.

816
01:10:44,115 --> 01:10:46,151
I'm Luke Skywalker.
I'm here to rescue you.

817
01:10:46,235 --> 01:10:48,271
- You're who?
- I'm here to rescue you.

818
01:10:48,355 --> 01:10:50,664
I've got your R2 unit.
I'm here with Ben Kenobi.

819
01:10:50,755 --> 01:10:52,666
- Where is he?
- Come on.

820
01:10:54,115 --> 01:10:57,187
- He is here.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi?

821
01:10:57,915 --> 01:11:01,112
- What makes you think so?
- A tremor in the Force.

822
01:11:01,195 --> 01:11:04,904
The last time I felt it
was in the presence of my old master.

823
01:11:04,995 --> 01:11:07,304
Surely he must be dead by now.

824
01:11:07,395 --> 01:11:09,704
Don't underestimate the Force.

825
01:11:10,755 --> 01:11:13,872
The Jedi are extinct.
Their fire has gone out of the universe.

826
01:11:14,675 --> 01:11:17,143
You, my friend, are all that's left
of their religion.

827
01:11:17,955 --> 01:11:19,070
Yes.

828
01:11:19,155 --> 01:11:22,545
<i>We have an emergency alert</i>
<i>in Detention Block AA-23.</i>

829
01:11:23,195 --> 01:11:25,629
The princess?
Put all sections on alert.

830
01:11:25,715 --> 01:11:29,230
Obi-Wan is here.
The Force is with him.

831
01:11:29,315 --> 01:11:32,068
If you're right,
he must not be allowed to escape.

832
01:11:32,155 --> 01:11:35,465
Escape is not his plan.
I must face him alone.

833
01:11:44,395 --> 01:11:45,874
Get behind me.

834
01:11:56,835 --> 01:11:59,474
Watch your left.
They went down the cell bay.

835
01:12:02,395 --> 01:12:05,193
- Can't get out that way.
- You cut off our only escape route.

836
01:12:05,275 --> 01:12:07,835
Maybe you'd like it back in your cell,
Your Highness.

837
01:12:10,115 --> 01:12:12,185
- C-3PO. C-3PO.
- <i>Yes, sir?</i>

838
01:12:12,275 --> 01:12:15,631
Are there any other ways out of
the cell bay? We've been cut off.

839
01:12:17,755 --> 01:12:19,905
What was that?
I didn't copy.

840
01:12:19,995 --> 01:12:23,305
I said all systems have been
alerted to your presence, sir.

841
01:12:23,395 --> 01:12:25,829
The main entrance
seems to be the only way in or out.

842
01:12:25,915 --> 01:12:28,065
All other information on your level
is restricted.

843
01:12:28,155 --> 01:12:30,589
Open up in there.
Open up in there.

844
01:12:31,555 --> 01:12:33,193
Oh, no.

845
01:12:33,275 --> 01:12:34,788
There isn't any other way out.

846
01:12:40,155 --> 01:12:42,305
I can't hold them off forever.
Now what?

847
01:12:42,395 --> 01:12:45,785
Some rescue. When you came in here,
didn't you have a plan for getting out?

848
01:12:45,875 --> 01:12:47,786
He's the brains, sweetheart.

849
01:12:47,875 --> 01:12:49,513
Well, I didn't--

850
01:12:50,635 --> 01:12:53,991
- What the hell are you doing?
- Somebody has to save our skins.

851
01:12:56,035 --> 01:12:57,832
Into the garbage chute, fly boy.

852
01:13:04,995 --> 01:13:05,984
Get in!

853
01:13:07,115 --> 01:13:10,027
Get in there, you big furry oaf.
I don't care what you smell.

854
01:13:10,995 --> 01:13:13,384
Get in there,
and don't worry about it.

855
01:13:15,355 --> 01:13:16,788
Wonderful girl.

856
01:13:18,835 --> 01:13:21,907
Either I'm gonna kill her,
or I'm beginning to like her.

857
01:13:23,355 --> 01:13:25,266
Get in there.

858
01:13:37,355 --> 01:13:40,711
The garbage chute was
a really wonderful idea.

859
01:13:40,795 --> 01:13:43,104
What an incredible smell
you've discovered.

860
01:13:45,595 --> 01:13:47,745
Let's get out of here.

861
01:13:47,835 --> 01:13:50,065
- Get away from there.
- No, wait.

862
01:13:56,595 --> 01:13:58,870
I already tried it!
It's magnetically sealed.

863
01:13:58,955 --> 01:14:01,150
Put that thing away!
You're gonna get us all killed!

864
01:14:01,235 --> 01:14:03,112
Absolutely, Your Worship.

865
01:14:03,195 --> 01:14:05,425
Look, I had everything under control
till you led us down here.

866
01:14:05,515 --> 01:14:08,313
It's not gonna take 'em long
to figure out what happened to us.

867
01:14:08,395 --> 01:14:10,306
It could be worse.

868
01:14:14,035 --> 01:14:15,263
It's worse.

869
01:14:15,355 --> 01:14:18,267
- There's something alive in here.
- That's your imagination.

870
01:14:19,195 --> 01:14:21,026
Something just moved
past my leg.

871
01:14:22,675 --> 01:14:24,666
Look. Did you see that?

872
01:14:24,755 --> 01:14:25,631
What?

873
01:14:46,395 --> 01:14:47,828
Kid! Luke!

874
01:15:00,075 --> 01:15:01,747
Grab hold of this!

875
01:15:01,835 --> 01:15:04,110
Blast it! My gun's jammed.

876
01:15:04,195 --> 01:15:06,868
- Where?
- Anywhere!

877
01:15:38,155 --> 01:15:39,713
Help him!

878
01:15:39,795 --> 01:15:42,184
- What happened?
- I don't know.

879
01:15:42,275 --> 01:15:44,505
It just let go of me
and disappeared.

880
01:15:50,275 --> 01:15:52,186
I got a bad feeling about this.

881
01:15:58,035 --> 01:16:01,107
- The walls are moving!
- Try and brace it with something.

882
01:16:09,715 --> 01:16:11,194
Help me.

883
01:16:23,395 --> 01:16:24,987
Wait a minute.

884
01:16:26,955 --> 01:16:29,833
3PO! Come in, 3PO!

885
01:16:31,035 --> 01:16:32,514
<i>3PO!</i>

886
01:16:32,595 --> 01:16:34,506
<i>Where could he be?</i>

887
01:16:38,595 --> 01:16:40,665
Take over. See to him.

888
01:16:43,035 --> 01:16:44,468
Look, there.

889
01:16:46,795 --> 01:16:49,070
They're madmen.
They're heading for the prison level.

890
01:16:49,155 --> 01:16:50,986
If you hurry, you might catch them.

891
01:16:51,075 --> 01:16:52,508
Follow me.

892
01:16:56,075 --> 01:16:57,986
You stand guard.

893
01:17:02,035 --> 01:17:03,309
Come on.

894
01:17:11,275 --> 01:17:14,426
All this excitement has overrun
the circuits in my counterpart here.

895
01:17:14,515 --> 01:17:17,552
If you don't mind, I'd like to
take him down to maintenance.

896
01:17:17,635 --> 01:17:19,114
All right.

897
01:17:30,795 --> 01:17:33,434
3PO. Come in, 3PO.

898
01:17:33,515 --> 01:17:34,709
3PO.

899
01:17:34,795 --> 01:17:37,548
- Get on top.
- I can't.

900
01:17:37,635 --> 01:17:39,432
Where could he be? 3PO.

901
01:17:40,795 --> 01:17:42,513
3PO, will you come in.

902
01:17:43,235 --> 01:17:45,385
They aren't here.
Something must have happened.

903
01:17:45,475 --> 01:17:47,591
See if they've been captured. Hurry.

904
01:17:51,715 --> 01:17:54,593
One thing's for sure.
We're all gonna be a lot thinner.

905
01:17:56,795 --> 01:17:58,990
- Get on top of it.
- I'm trying.

906
01:18:04,115 --> 01:18:07,391
Thank goodness they haven't found them.
Where could they be?

907
01:18:09,795 --> 01:18:12,070
"Use the comlink'? Oh, my.

908
01:18:12,155 --> 01:18:13,986
I forgot.
I turned it off.

909
01:18:17,995 --> 01:18:20,031
- Are you there, sir?
- 3PO?

910
01:18:20,995 --> 01:18:23,463
- We've had some problems.
- <i>Shut up and listen to me.</i>

911
01:18:23,555 --> 01:18:27,184
<i>Shut down all the garbage mashers</i>
<i>on the detention level. Do you copy?</i>

912
01:18:27,275 --> 01:18:29,835
Shut down all the garbage mashers
on the detention level!

913
01:18:31,235 --> 01:18:33,749
<i>Shut down all the garbage mashers</i>
<i>on the detention level!</i>

914
01:18:33,835 --> 01:18:36,508
No, shut them all down.
Hurry! Oh, no.

915
01:18:47,515 --> 01:18:48,948
What?

916
01:18:49,955 --> 01:18:51,786
You did great, 3PO!

917
01:18:51,875 --> 01:18:54,150
Listen to them.
They're dying, R2.

918
01:18:54,235 --> 01:18:56,112
Curse my metal body.
I wasn't fast enough.

919
01:18:56,195 --> 01:18:59,392
It's all my fault.
My poor master.

920
01:18:59,475 --> 01:19:00,988
We're all right.
You did great!

921
01:19:01,875 --> 01:19:05,584
Hey! Open the pressure maintenance
hatch on unit number-- Where are we?

922
01:19:05,675 --> 01:19:08,906
<i>3 26382 7.</i>

923
01:19:52,755 --> 01:19:56,225
If we can avoid any more female advice,
we oughta be able to get out of here.

924
01:19:56,315 --> 01:19:58,112
Let's get moving.

925
01:19:59,235 --> 01:20:01,351
Where you goin'?

926
01:20:01,435 --> 01:20:02,834
Wait! They'll hear!

927
01:20:04,795 --> 01:20:06,626
Come here, you big coward.

928
01:20:06,715 --> 01:20:08,307
- Chewie, come here.
- Listen.

929
01:20:09,155 --> 01:20:11,794
I don't know who you are
or where you came from...

930
01:20:11,875 --> 01:20:14,594
but from now on,
you do as I tell you, okay?

931
01:20:15,435 --> 01:20:18,233
Look, Your Worshipfulness,
let's get one thing straight.

932
01:20:18,315 --> 01:20:20,875
I take orders
from just one person-- me.

933
01:20:21,595 --> 01:20:23,426
It's a wonder you're still alive.

934
01:20:23,515 --> 01:20:26,552
Will somebody get
this big walking carpet out of my way?

935
01:20:26,635 --> 01:20:28,830
No reward is worth this.

936
01:20:38,635 --> 01:20:40,466
Give me regular reports, please.

937
01:20:40,555 --> 01:20:41,624
Right.

938
01:20:43,715 --> 01:20:46,832
- Do you know what's going on?
- Maybe it's another drill.

939
01:20:51,675 --> 01:20:53,586
You seen that new VT-1 6?

940
01:20:53,675 --> 01:20:56,064
Yeah. Some of the other guys
were telling me about it.

941
01:20:56,155 --> 01:20:57,986
They say it's quite a thing to see.

942
01:20:58,075 --> 01:20:59,952
What was that?

943
01:21:00,035 --> 01:21:03,186
It's nothing. Outgassing.
Don't worry about it.

944
01:21:07,795 --> 01:21:09,945
- There she is.
- C-3PO, do you copy?

945
01:21:10,035 --> 01:21:11,024
<i>Yes, sir.</i>

946
01:21:11,115 --> 01:21:12,946
- Are you safe?
- <i>For the moment.</i>

947
01:21:13,035 --> 01:21:15,265
We're in the main hangar
across from the ship.

948
01:21:17,195 --> 01:21:18,753
We're right above you.
Stand by.

949
01:21:18,835 --> 01:21:21,474
You came in that thing?
You're braver than I thought.

950
01:21:21,555 --> 01:21:23,466
Nice. Come on.

951
01:21:26,875 --> 01:21:28,547
It's them.
Blast them.

952
01:21:29,755 --> 01:21:31,473
Get back to the ship!

953
01:21:31,555 --> 01:21:33,432
- Where are you going?
- He certainly has courage.

954
01:21:33,515 --> 01:21:37,030
What good will it do us
if he gets himself killed? Come on.

955
01:22:00,955 --> 01:22:02,866
I think we took a wrong turn.

956
01:22:07,635 --> 01:22:08,511
There's no lock.

957
01:22:12,395 --> 01:22:15,193
- That oughta hold them for a while.
- Quick. We've got to get across.

958
01:22:15,275 --> 01:22:18,347
-Find the controls to extend the bridge.
-I think I just blasted it.

959
01:22:18,435 --> 01:22:20,153
They're coming through.

960
01:22:41,595 --> 01:22:43,187
Here, hold this.

961
01:22:58,475 --> 01:22:59,874
Here they come.

962
01:23:10,755 --> 01:23:12,234
For luck.

963
01:23:18,115 --> 01:23:21,949
We think they may be splitting up.
They may be on Level 5 and 6 now, sir.

964
01:23:36,195 --> 01:23:38,106
Where could they be?

965
01:23:50,355 --> 01:23:52,744
Open the blast doors.
Open the blast doors.

966
01:24:10,355 --> 01:24:14,951
I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan.
We meet again at last.

967
01:24:15,675 --> 01:24:17,313
The circle is now complete.

968
01:24:17,395 --> 01:24:19,511
When I left you,
I was but the learner.

969
01:24:19,595 --> 01:24:21,870
Now I am the master.

970
01:24:21,955 --> 01:24:23,866
Only a master of evil, Darth.

971
01:24:43,355 --> 01:24:45,550
Your powers are weak, old man.

972
01:24:45,635 --> 01:24:49,150
You can't win, Darth.
If you strike me down...

973
01:24:49,235 --> 01:24:52,466
I shall become more powerful
than you can possibly imagine.

974
01:24:59,635 --> 01:25:01,546
You should not have come back.

975
01:25:26,275 --> 01:25:27,788
Didn't we just leave this party?

976
01:25:30,475 --> 01:25:32,625
- What kept you?
- We ran into some old friends.

977
01:25:32,715 --> 01:25:35,149
- The ship all right?
- Seems okay, if we can get to it.

978
01:25:35,235 --> 01:25:37,191
I hope the old man got
the tractor beam down.

979
01:25:51,155 --> 01:25:52,304
Look.

980
01:25:55,875 --> 01:25:57,786
Come on, R2. We're going.

981
01:25:59,355 --> 01:26:00,390
Now's our chance. Go!

982
01:26:29,315 --> 01:26:30,430
Come on!

983
01:26:31,475 --> 01:26:32,874
Come on!

984
01:26:32,955 --> 01:26:35,913
- Luke, it's too late!
- Blast the door, kid!

985
01:26:45,235 --> 01:26:46,714
<i>Run, Luke, run.</i>

986
01:26:49,795 --> 01:26:53,231
I hope that old man got the tractor beam
down, or this is gonna be a short trip.

987
01:26:53,315 --> 01:26:54,748
Hit it!

988
01:27:24,995 --> 01:27:26,826
We're coming up
on their sentry ships.

989
01:27:26,915 --> 01:27:30,191
Hold them off. Angle the deflector
shields while I charge up the main guns.

990
01:27:38,995 --> 01:27:40,906
I can't believe he's gone.

991
01:27:44,355 --> 01:27:46,107
There wasn't anything
you could have done.

992
01:27:46,875 --> 01:27:49,025
Come on, buddy.
We're not out of this yet.

993
01:28:05,155 --> 01:28:07,385
You in, kid?
Okay, stay sharp.

994
01:28:17,795 --> 01:28:18,864
Here they come.

995
01:28:36,155 --> 01:28:37,907
They're coming in too fast!

996
01:28:45,595 --> 01:28:49,224
- We've lost the lateral controls.
- Don't worry. She'll hold together.

997
01:28:50,715 --> 01:28:52,671
Hear me, baby?
Hold together.

998
01:29:13,875 --> 01:29:15,388
Got him. I got him!

999
01:29:15,475 --> 01:29:17,784
Great, kid.
Don't get cocky.

1000
01:29:18,915 --> 01:29:20,587
There's still two more.

1001
01:29:53,115 --> 01:29:55,549
- That's it. We did it.
- We did it.

1002
01:29:56,755 --> 01:29:59,144
Help. I think I'm melting.
This is all your fault.

1003
01:30:06,635 --> 01:30:08,273
Are they away?

1004
01:30:08,355 --> 01:30:10,585
They've just made the jump
into hyperspace.

1005
01:30:11,235 --> 01:30:14,511
You're sure the homing beacon
is secure aboard their ship?

1006
01:30:15,675 --> 01:30:17,950
I'm taking an awful risk, Vader.

1007
01:30:18,035 --> 01:30:19,912
This had better work.

1008
01:30:20,075 --> 01:30:22,111
Not a bad bit of rescuing, huh?

1009
01:30:22,795 --> 01:30:25,753
You know, sometimes
I amaze even myself.

1010
01:30:25,835 --> 01:30:28,065
That doesn't sound too hard.

1011
01:30:28,155 --> 01:30:31,670
They let us go. It's the only
explanation for the ease of our escape.

1012
01:30:31,755 --> 01:30:34,428
- You call that easy?
- They're tracking us.

1013
01:30:34,515 --> 01:30:36,233
Not this ship, sister.

1014
01:30:37,435 --> 01:30:39,869
At least the information in R2
is still intact.

1015
01:30:39,955 --> 01:30:42,310
What's so important?
What's he carrying?

1016
01:30:42,395 --> 01:30:44,511
The technical readouts
of that battle station.

1017
01:30:45,475 --> 01:30:48,626
I only hope that when the data's
analysed a weakness can be found.

1018
01:30:48,715 --> 01:30:51,946
- It's not over yet.
- It is for me, sister.

1019
01:30:52,035 --> 01:30:55,311
I ain't in this for your revolution,
and I'm not in it for you, Princess.

1020
01:30:55,395 --> 01:30:58,114
I expect to be well paid.
I'm in it for the money.

1021
01:30:58,195 --> 01:31:00,311
You needn't worry
about your reward.

1022
01:31:00,395 --> 01:31:03,193
If money is all that you love,
then that's what you'll receive.

1023
01:31:06,235 --> 01:31:08,112
Your friend is quite a mercenary.

1024
01:31:08,195 --> 01:31:11,267
I wonder if he really cares
about anything... or anybody.

1025
01:31:12,355 --> 01:31:13,788
I care.

1026
01:31:20,115 --> 01:31:21,673
So...

1027
01:31:21,755 --> 01:31:23,586
what do you
think of her, Han?

1028
01:31:23,675 --> 01:31:25,472
I'm trying not to, kid.

1029
01:31:26,275 --> 01:31:27,503
Good.

1030
01:31:30,755 --> 01:31:33,553
Still, she's got a lot of spirit.

1031
01:31:35,595 --> 01:31:38,553
What do you think?
You think a princess and a guy like me--

1032
01:31:38,635 --> 01:31:39,226
No.

1033
01:32:24,915 --> 01:32:27,987
You're safe. When we heard about
Alderaan, we feared the worst.

1034
01:32:28,075 --> 01:32:29,906
We have no time for sorrows,
Commander.

1035
01:32:29,995 --> 01:32:32,907
You must use the information
in this R2 unit to help plan the attack.

1036
01:32:32,995 --> 01:32:34,906
It's our only hope.

1037
01:32:55,115 --> 01:32:57,709
- Yes.
- <i>We're approaching the planet Yavin.</i>

1038
01:32:57,795 --> 01:33:00,025
<i>The rebel base is on a moon</i>
<i>on the far side.</i>

1039
01:33:00,115 --> 01:33:02,026
<i>We are preparing</i>
<i>to orbit the planet.</i>

1040
01:33:10,635 --> 01:33:12,671
The battle station
is heavily shielded...

1041
01:33:12,755 --> 01:33:16,065
and carries a firepower
greater than half the starfleet.

1042
01:33:16,755 --> 01:33:20,668
Its defences are designed around
a direct large-scale assault.

1043
01:33:20,755 --> 01:33:25,783
A small, one-man fighter should be able
to penetrate the outer defence.

1044
01:33:27,475 --> 01:33:31,150
Pardon me for asking, sir, but what good
are snub fighters against that?

1045
01:33:31,235 --> 01:33:35,626
The Empire doesn't consider a small,
one-man fighter to be any threat...

1046
01:33:35,715 --> 01:33:37,626
or they'd have a tighter defence.

1047
01:33:38,435 --> 01:33:41,552
An analysis of the plans
provided by Princess Leia...

1048
01:33:41,635 --> 01:33:44,547
has demonstrated a weakness
in the battle station.

1049
01:33:45,395 --> 01:33:47,272
The approach will not be easy.

1050
01:33:47,355 --> 01:33:50,392
You're required to manoeuvre
straight down this trench...

1051
01:33:50,475 --> 01:33:52,989
and skim the surface to this point.

1052
01:33:53,795 --> 01:33:56,389
The target area
is only two metres wide.

1053
01:33:56,475 --> 01:33:59,990
It's a small thermal exhaust port
right below the main port.

1054
01:34:01,195 --> 01:34:04,267
The shaft leads directly
to the reactor system.

1055
01:34:04,355 --> 01:34:06,994
A precise hit
will start a chain reaction...

1056
01:34:07,075 --> 01:34:09,225
which should destroy the station.

1057
01:34:09,315 --> 01:34:12,671
Only a precise hit will
set up a chain reaction.

1058
01:34:12,755 --> 01:34:15,792
The shaft is ray-shielded,
so you'll have to use proton torpedoes.

1059
01:34:15,875 --> 01:34:17,945
That's impossible,
even for a computer.

1060
01:34:18,035 --> 01:34:21,664
No, it's not. I used to bull's-eye
womp rats in my T-1 6 back home.

1061
01:34:21,755 --> 01:34:24,064
They're not much bigger
than two metres.

1062
01:34:24,155 --> 01:34:27,227
Then man your ships,
and may the Force be with you.

1063
01:34:35,115 --> 01:34:37,470
<i>Orbiting the planet</i>
<i>at maximum velocity.</i>

1064
01:34:38,235 --> 01:34:41,784
<i>The moon with the rebel base</i>
<i>will be in range in 30 minutes.</i>

1065
01:34:41,875 --> 01:34:44,389
This will be a day
long remembered.

1066
01:34:44,475 --> 01:34:46,386
It has seen the end of Kenobi...

1067
01:34:46,475 --> 01:34:48,989
and will soon see
the end of the rebellion.

1068
01:34:54,475 --> 01:34:56,830
<i>All flight crews,</i>
<i>man your stations.</i>

1069
01:35:02,835 --> 01:35:05,827
So, you got your reward
and you're just leaving, then?

1070
01:35:05,915 --> 01:35:07,826
That's right. Yeah.

1071
01:35:08,875 --> 01:35:11,389
I got some old debts
I gotta pay off with this stuff.

1072
01:35:11,475 --> 01:35:15,388
Even if I didn't, you don't think I'd be
fool enough to stick around here, do ya?

1073
01:35:15,475 --> 01:35:18,945
Why don't you come with us? You're
pretty good in a fight. We could use ya.

1074
01:35:19,035 --> 01:35:21,913
Come on. Why don't you
take a look around?

1075
01:35:21,995 --> 01:35:24,555
You know what's about to happen,
what they're up against.

1076
01:35:24,635 --> 01:35:27,308
They could use a good pilot like you.
You're turning your back on them.

1077
01:35:27,395 --> 01:35:29,704
What good's a reward
if you ain't around to use it?

1078
01:35:29,795 --> 01:35:32,628
Besides, attacking that battle station
ain't my idea of courage.

1079
01:35:32,715 --> 01:35:35,468
It's more like... suicide.

1080
01:35:36,835 --> 01:35:39,952
All right.
Well, take care of yourself, Han.

1081
01:35:40,035 --> 01:35:42,595
I guess that's what you're best at,
isn't it?

1082
01:35:42,675 --> 01:35:43,949
Hey, Luke.

1083
01:35:47,155 --> 01:35:49,430
May the Force be with you.

1084
01:35:55,715 --> 01:35:58,752
What are you looking at?
I know what I'm doing.

1085
01:36:02,955 --> 01:36:05,344
<i>All pilots to your stations.</i>

1086
01:36:13,915 --> 01:36:16,110
- What's wrong?
- It's Han.

1087
01:36:16,195 --> 01:36:18,550
I don't know.
I really thought he'd change his mind.

1088
01:36:18,635 --> 01:36:21,991
He's got to follow his own path.
No one can choose it for him.

1089
01:36:22,995 --> 01:36:25,350
I only wish Ben were here.

1090
01:36:33,035 --> 01:36:35,026
<i>Open main launch tubes.</i>

1091
01:36:37,115 --> 01:36:39,265
<i>Main launch tubes opening, sir.</i>

1092
01:36:44,475 --> 01:36:47,273
This R2 unit of yours seems
a bit beat up. You want a new one?

1093
01:36:47,355 --> 01:36:50,392
Not on your life. That droid and I
have been through a lot.

1094
01:36:50,475 --> 01:36:51,430
You okay, R2?

1095
01:36:53,035 --> 01:36:54,388
Good.

1096
01:36:55,395 --> 01:36:58,034
<i>Gold squadron,</i>
<i>begin take-off procedure.</i>

1097
01:36:58,675 --> 01:37:01,553
Hang on tight, R2.
You've got to come back.

1098
01:37:03,355 --> 01:37:05,266
You wouldn't want my life
to get boring, would you?

1099
01:37:51,635 --> 01:37:54,513
<i>Luke, the Force will be with you.</i>

1100
01:38:06,075 --> 01:38:09,431
<i>Standby alert.</i>
<i>Death Star approaching.</i>

1101
01:38:09,515 --> 01:38:12,507
<i>Estimated time to firing range,</i>
<i>1 5 minutes.</i>

1102
01:38:25,115 --> 01:38:27,265
- All wings report in.
- Red 1 0 standing by.

1103
01:38:27,355 --> 01:38:29,505
- <i>Red Seven standing by.</i>
- Red Three standing by.

1104
01:38:29,595 --> 01:38:32,234
- Red Six standing by.
- <i>Red Nine standing by.</i>

1105
01:38:32,315 --> 01:38:34,271
- Red Two standing by.
- <i>Red 1 1 standing by.</i>

1106
01:38:34,355 --> 01:38:36,186
Red Five standing by.

1107
01:38:37,515 --> 01:38:39,346
Lock S-foils in attack position.

1108
01:38:43,435 --> 01:38:45,346
<i>We're passing through</i>
<i>the magnetic field.</i>

1109
01:38:45,435 --> 01:38:48,108
Hold tight.
Switch your deflectors on.

1110
01:38:48,195 --> 01:38:49,594
<i>Double front.</i>

1111
01:38:52,475 --> 01:38:54,193
Look at the size of that thing.

1112
01:38:54,275 --> 01:38:56,789
<i>Cut the chatter, Red Two.</i>
<i>Accelerate to attack speed.</i>

1113
01:39:00,035 --> 01:39:02,674
- This is it, boys.
- Red Leader, this is Gold Leader.

1114
01:39:02,755 --> 01:39:05,508
- <i>I copy, Gold Leader.</i>
- We're starting for the target shaft.

1115
01:39:05,595 --> 01:39:08,905
We're in position. I'm going to cut
across the axis and draw their fire.

1116
01:39:22,755 --> 01:39:25,906
- <i>Heavy fire, boss, 23 degrees.</i>
- <i>I see it. Stay low.</i>

1117
01:39:33,035 --> 01:39:34,468
This is Red Five.
I'm going in.

1118
01:39:38,875 --> 01:39:39,830
<i>Luke, pull up!</i>

1119
01:39:41,675 --> 01:39:43,666
- You all right?
- A little cooked, but I'm okay.

1120
01:39:49,395 --> 01:39:53,183
We count 30 rebel ships, but they're so
small they're evading our turbolasers.

1121
01:39:53,275 --> 01:39:55,106
We'll have to destroy
them ship to ship.

1122
01:39:55,195 --> 01:39:57,151
Get the crews
to their fighters.

1123
01:39:59,675 --> 01:40:00,551
Watch yourself.

1124
01:40:00,635 --> 01:40:03,354
<i>There's a lot of fire coming from</i>
<i>the right side of that deflection tower.</i>

1125
01:40:03,435 --> 01:40:04,663
I'm on it.

1126
01:40:04,755 --> 01:40:08,031
- I'm going in. Cover me, Porkins.
- Right with you, Red Three.

1127
01:40:14,155 --> 01:40:15,873
I've got a problem here.

1128
01:40:15,955 --> 01:40:17,308
- Eject.
- I can hold it.

1129
01:40:17,395 --> 01:40:19,511
- Pull up!
- No, I'm all right--

1130
01:40:23,515 --> 01:40:26,348
<i>The rebel base will be in firing range</i>
<i>in seven minutes.</i>

1131
01:40:30,035 --> 01:40:32,629
<i>Luke, trust your feelings.</i>

1132
01:40:40,115 --> 01:40:41,673
Squad leaders...

1133
01:40:41,755 --> 01:40:43,746
we've picked up
a new group of signals.

1134
01:40:43,835 --> 01:40:45,666
Enemy fighters
coming your way.

1135
01:40:45,755 --> 01:40:47,393
My scope's negative.
I don't see anything.

1136
01:40:47,475 --> 01:40:49,591
- Pick up your visual scanning.
- <i>Here they come.</i>

1137
01:40:52,715 --> 01:40:54,353
You've got one on your tail.

1138
01:40:59,475 --> 01:41:00,305
I'm hit!

1139
01:41:01,715 --> 01:41:04,149
- You've picked one up. Watch it.
- I can't see it.

1140
01:41:06,075 --> 01:41:07,713
He's on me tight.
I can't shake him.

1141
01:41:09,355 --> 01:41:11,346
I'll be right there.

1142
01:41:23,035 --> 01:41:26,266
Several fighters have broken off
from the main group. Come with me.

1143
01:41:29,595 --> 01:41:32,587
- <i>Fall in. Fall in.</i>
- <i>Watch your back, Luke.</i>

1144
01:41:32,675 --> 01:41:34,905
<i>Fighters above you, coming in.</i>

1145
01:41:40,915 --> 01:41:43,588
I'm hit, but not bad.
R2, see what you can do with it.

1146
01:41:43,675 --> 01:41:45,711
<i>Hang on back there.</i>

1147
01:41:45,795 --> 01:41:48,355
<i>Red Six, can you see Red Five?</i>

1148
01:41:48,435 --> 01:41:50,744
<i>There's a heavy fire zone.</i>
<i>Red Five, where are you?</i>

1149
01:41:50,835 --> 01:41:52,188
I can't shake him.

1150
01:41:56,075 --> 01:41:57,554
I'm on him, Luke.

1151
01:42:00,635 --> 01:42:02,193
Blast it, Biggs.
Where are you?

1152
01:42:08,915 --> 01:42:11,588
- Thanks, Wedge.
- <i>Good shooting, Wedge.</i>

1153
01:42:11,675 --> 01:42:14,667
<i>Red Leader, this is Gold Leader.</i>
<i>We're starting our attack run.</i>

1154
01:42:16,435 --> 01:42:18,710
<i>I copy, Gold Leader.</i>
<i>Move into position.</i>

1155
01:42:21,035 --> 01:42:23,230
Stay in attack formation.

1156
01:42:23,315 --> 01:42:25,988
<i>The exhaust port</i>
<i>is marked and locked in.</i>

1157
01:42:31,675 --> 01:42:34,712
<i>Switch all power</i>
<i>to front deflector screen.</i>

1158
01:42:34,795 --> 01:42:37,912
Switch all power
to front deflector screen.

1159
01:42:42,395 --> 01:42:44,067
How many guns do you think,
Gold Five?

1160
01:42:44,155 --> 01:42:47,272
<i>Say about 20 guns,</i>
<i>some on the surface, some on the towers.</i>

1161
01:42:47,355 --> 01:42:50,074
<i>Death Star will be in range</i>
<i>in five minutes.</i>

1162
01:42:52,115 --> 01:42:55,027
Switch to targeting computer.

1163
01:42:57,395 --> 01:42:59,306
Computer's locked.
Getting a signal.

1164
01:43:01,595 --> 01:43:03,631
The guns. They've stopped.

1165
01:43:05,275 --> 01:43:07,709
Stabilize your rear deflectors.
Watch for enemy fighters.

1166
01:43:07,795 --> 01:43:10,150
<i>They're coming in.</i>
<i>Three marks at 2 1 0.</i>

1167
01:43:12,075 --> 01:43:14,145
I'll take them myself.
Cover me.

1168
01:43:14,235 --> 01:43:15,463
Yes, sir.

1169
01:43:29,395 --> 01:43:31,750
- It's no good. I can't manoeuvre.
- Stay on target.

1170
01:43:31,835 --> 01:43:33,632
- We're too close.
- Stay on target.

1171
01:43:35,355 --> 01:43:36,265
Loosen up!

1172
01:43:39,235 --> 01:43:41,908
Gold Five to Red Leader,
lost Tiree, lost Hutch.

1173
01:43:41,995 --> 01:43:44,270
- I copy, Gold Leader.
- They came from behind.

1174
01:43:50,355 --> 01:43:52,869
We've analysed their attack, sir,
and there is a danger.

1175
01:43:52,955 --> 01:43:54,786
Should I have your ship
standing by?

1176
01:43:54,875 --> 01:43:57,673
Evacuate?
In our moment of triumph?

1177
01:43:57,755 --> 01:44:00,110
I think you overestimate
their chances.

1178
01:44:00,795 --> 01:44:02,706
<i>Rebel base,</i>
<i>three minutes and closing.</i>

1179
01:44:03,435 --> 01:44:05,187
Red boys, this is Red Leader.

1180
01:44:05,275 --> 01:44:06,947
<i>Rendezvous at mark 6. 1.</i>

1181
01:44:07,035 --> 01:44:10,550
- <i>This is Red Two flying toward you.</i>
- <i>Red Three standing by.</i>

1182
01:44:10,635 --> 01:44:12,387
Red Leader, this is Base One.

1183
01:44:12,475 --> 01:44:15,035
<i>Keep half your group out of range</i>
<i>for the next run.</i>

1184
01:44:15,115 --> 01:44:17,629
<i>Copy, Base One.</i>
<i>Luke, take Red Two and Three.</i>

1185
01:44:17,715 --> 01:44:20,946
Hold up here and wait for
my signal to start your run.

1186
01:44:29,035 --> 01:44:30,184
This is it.

1187
01:44:34,555 --> 01:44:36,625
We should be able
to see it by now.

1188
01:44:38,195 --> 01:44:39,867
Keep your eyes open
for those fighters.

1189
01:44:41,595 --> 01:44:43,904
There's too much interference.
Red Five, can you see them?

1190
01:44:43,995 --> 01:44:46,873
- No sign of any-- Wait. Coming in .35.
- I see them.

1191
01:44:48,355 --> 01:44:49,424
I'm in range.

1192
01:44:50,635 --> 01:44:52,307
Target's coming up.

1193
01:44:54,755 --> 01:44:56,791
Just hold them off
for a few seconds.

1194
01:44:57,595 --> 01:44:59,108
Close up formation.

1195
01:45:00,435 --> 01:45:02,551
Almost there.

1196
01:45:11,235 --> 01:45:14,386
-Let her loose. They're right behind me.
-Almost there.

1197
01:45:15,675 --> 01:45:17,267
I can't hold them.

1198
01:45:25,155 --> 01:45:25,871
It's away!

1199
01:45:30,195 --> 01:45:31,753
<i>- It's a hit!</i>
<i>- Negative.</i>

1200
01:45:31,835 --> 01:45:33,826
Negative. It didn't go in.

1201
01:45:33,915 --> 01:45:36,475
<i>It just impacted on the surface.</i>

1202
01:45:42,675 --> 01:45:44,267
<i>Red Leader, we're right above you.</i>

1203
01:45:44,355 --> 01:45:46,471
Turn to .05.
We'll cover for you.

1204
01:45:46,555 --> 01:45:49,353
<i>Stay there. I just lost</i>
<i>my starboard engine.</i>

1205
01:45:50,115 --> 01:45:52,310
<i>Get set up for your attack run.</i>

1206
01:46:05,075 --> 01:46:07,543
<i>Rebel base, one minute and closing.</i>

1207
01:46:08,275 --> 01:46:09,788
<i>Biggs, Wedge, let's close it up.</i>

1208
01:46:09,875 --> 01:46:13,106
<i>We're going in full throttle. That ought</i>
<i>to keep those fighters off our back.</i>

1209
01:46:13,195 --> 01:46:15,231
Right with you, boss.

1210
01:46:15,315 --> 01:46:17,510
Luke, at that speed,
will you be able to pull out in time?

1211
01:46:17,595 --> 01:46:19,506
It'll be just like
Beggars Canyon back home.

1212
01:46:26,555 --> 01:46:28,705
We'll stay back
far enough to cover you.

1213
01:46:28,795 --> 01:46:31,263
<i>My scope shows the tower,</i>
<i>but I can't see the exhaust port.</i>

1214
01:46:31,355 --> 01:46:32,788
Are you sure
the computer can hit it?

1215
01:46:36,115 --> 01:46:38,026
Watch yourself.
Increase speed, full throttle.

1216
01:46:38,115 --> 01:46:39,343
What about that tower?

1217
01:46:39,435 --> 01:46:41,744
You worry about those fighters.
I'll worry about the tower.

1218
01:46:47,915 --> 01:46:51,351
R2, that stabilizer's broken loose
again. See if you can't lock it down.

1219
01:47:00,155 --> 01:47:01,873
<i>Fighters coming in .3.</i>

1220
01:47:10,435 --> 01:47:12,824
- <i>I'm hit. I can't stay with you.</i>
- <i>Get clear, Wedge.</i>

1221
01:47:12,915 --> 01:47:15,304
- You can't do any more good back there.
- Sorry.

1222
01:47:16,315 --> 01:47:18,192
Let him go.
Stay on the leader.

1223
01:47:21,035 --> 01:47:23,185
Hurry, Luke.
They're coming in much faster this time.

1224
01:47:27,155 --> 01:47:29,749
R2, try and increase the power.

1225
01:47:34,915 --> 01:47:36,109
<i>Hurry up, Luke. Quick.</i>

1226
01:47:36,995 --> 01:47:38,064
Quick.

1227
01:47:44,835 --> 01:47:47,269
<i>Rebel base, 30 seconds and closing.</i>

1228
01:47:47,355 --> 01:47:48,424
I'm on the leader.

1229
01:47:51,755 --> 01:47:53,154
Hang on, R2.

1230
01:48:07,955 --> 01:48:10,423
<i>Use the Force, Luke.</i>

1231
01:48:12,955 --> 01:48:15,515
<i>Let go, Luke.</i>

1232
01:48:16,875 --> 01:48:19,150
The Force is strong with this one.

1233
01:48:19,235 --> 01:48:21,112
<i>Luke, trust me.</i>

1234
01:48:26,075 --> 01:48:27,827
<i>His computer's off.</i>

1235
01:48:27,915 --> 01:48:29,985
<i>You switched off your</i>
<i>targeting computer. What's wrong?</i>

1236
01:48:30,075 --> 01:48:32,543
<i>Nothing. I'm all right.</i>

1237
01:48:44,995 --> 01:48:46,189
<i>I've lost R2.</i>

1238
01:48:47,995 --> 01:48:49,986
<i>The Death Star has cleared the planet.</i>

1239
01:48:50,075 --> 01:48:52,305
<i>The Death Star has cleared the planet.</i>

1240
01:48:53,315 --> 01:48:54,873
<i>Rebel base in range.</i>

1241
01:48:54,955 --> 01:48:56,786
You may fire when ready.

1242
01:48:57,475 --> 01:48:58,874
<i>Commence primary ignition.</i>

1243
01:49:12,275 --> 01:49:13,628
I have you now.

1244
01:49:15,995 --> 01:49:17,110
What?

1245
01:49:19,635 --> 01:49:20,385
Look out.

1246
01:49:26,995 --> 01:49:29,714
You're all clear, kid.
Now let's blow this thing and go home.

1247
01:49:36,275 --> 01:49:37,549
<i>Stand by.</i>

1248
01:49:40,435 --> 01:49:42,073
<i>Stand by.</i>

1249
01:49:52,115 --> 01:49:53,946
Great shot, kid!
That was one in a million!

1250
01:49:55,355 --> 01:49:59,587
<i>Remember, the Force</i>
<i>will be with you always.</i>

1251
01:50:23,995 --> 01:50:25,826
I just knew you'd come back.

1252
01:50:25,915 --> 01:50:28,224
I wasn't gonna let you get all
the credit and take all the reward.

1253
01:50:28,315 --> 01:50:30,226
I knew there was
more to you than money.

1254
01:50:30,875 --> 01:50:32,103
Oh, no.

1255
01:50:32,195 --> 01:50:34,550
Oh, my.
R2, can you hear me?

1256
01:50:35,195 --> 01:50:37,948
Say something.
You can repair him, can't you?

1257
01:50:38,035 --> 01:50:41,152
- We'll get to work on him right away.
- You must repair him.

1258
01:50:41,235 --> 01:50:44,033
Sir, if any of my circuits or gears
will help, I'll gladly donate them.

1259
01:50:44,115 --> 01:50:46,026
He'll be all right.

Thanks Pittrek! What was your source for these? Are you certain they line up against the 2006 OUT in NTSC?

Just please tell me that somewhere in the middle of the film, you don't have something like "Pittrek Rules!" snuck in.

Also, do you have these for ESB/ROTJ?

I have checked it and you're right, they're synchronised to the EditDroid bootleg so there may be some small differences.

I can give you the subtitles synchronised to my PAL 2006 version, if you want, I can put those here, but you'll have to convert their fps from 25 to 23.976 in something like Subtitle Workshop.

Wow - I am amazed. Like I said, when I was going through the subtitle stream I had ripped in SubRip, I kept getting incomplete lines of text and other gobbledy-gook. It was like the stream was corrupt. Hmmm. Well, do you have the ripped subs for ESB and ROTJ as well?
